Just finished the first rift and did I have fun with it. The boss took me awhile, but that was cause I was trying to learn his pattern. I didnt die against him which is a good thing. I will say one thing the bed is kinda overpowered. The fact that you can lay in it and recover hearts.

I didn't notice the bed could do that until later in the game 😆 You will eventually have better platforming echoes, but the bed remains a bit overpowered.
@FishyS Yeah I didnt think about it till I was using it and I kept seeing rest pop up when I was near the bed so I did just that just to see what resting does. I honestly though it was to save the game but after laying in it I noticed my hearts refilled.

So after looking through a walk-through of the first dungeon I noticed I missed a few echos, mainly the enemy ones. So I am thinking its safe to assume all enemies will be an echo.

@NintendoByNature Finally went about exploring the world Last night for a few hours and yes I seen some of the similarities. They fanboy in me squealed in delight in seeing the are for Link's house from ALttP not to mention the Swamp ruin area.
This game is beginning to become one of the best games I have played in awhile. I dont want to put it down.
@FishyS
Honestly, you're probably not wrong, but LA will forever be "my" game, ya know? As a kid on my GameBoy, I played LA over and over and over. Just too many fond memories, and then the remake on Switch turned out so well. Just can't be beat in my mind.
@Tasuki heck yeah man. I felt the same way. It was such a treat feeling like you’re playing a newer version of Alttp or ALBW. Hope you notice some more cool stuff.
Honestly its been a few years since I played Link's Awakening, I think the last time I played it was during the pandemic on the Zelda Game and Watch. I havent played the updated Switch version but I already own several copies of the original Link's Awakening.

@NintendoByNature I am still annoyed that I was never able to finish ALBW. I just dont understand why they havent brought that one over to Switch, but you know Nintendo logic.

@rallydefault, I must agree, Link's Awakening 2019 is peak (I also played my mama's Game Boy copy back around 2019 before I got the Switch version for Christmas that year, but never beat it). It's one of only two Switch games that I have replayed (the other being Smash Ultimate World of Light because I had deleted my original file years prior), and it only took roughly 15 hours for me to beat the second time. If I was forced to have to replay one of the games in my possession every year, it would be 2019 Link's Awakening. Short and sweet, but charming and just plain fun nonetheless. Also I have it as a physical copy complete on the cartridge, no updates necessary. One cool thing about my 2024 replay of Link's Awakening 2019 was being able to clear the first three dungeons without looking up a single thing online (very rare for me to go that far in a game without doing that, probably helps that it was a replay 😅). Also, since you like Link's Awakening so much, your avatar makes perfect sense.
Echoes of Wisdom is lovely too, though Link's Awakening 2019 is higher on my ranking of games in my possession. Both have a 10/10 score from me 🎉.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
2: Pokémon Violet
3: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
4: The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (2019)
5: Animal Crossing New Horizons
Mario Maker 2 Maker ID: MNH-8JB-PKG
Switch Username: Blanc

I think it will inevitably be re-released eventually but may take awhile. Nintendo seems to like having a zelda game almost every year, with ports or remasters filling the gaps between spinoffs and new mainline games.
What are we missing? Ignoring remasters, pretty much the only major things missing are:
Twilight Princess
Phantom Hourglass
Spirit Tracks
A Link Between Worlds
Tri Force Heroes
If the eventual successor of Switch 2 is back-combatible still I bet we'll get all of these by the end of Switch 3.
@FishyS We're also missing Four Swords Adventures, the GameCube game, not to be confused with Four Swords, the GBA one that was paired up with the port of A Link to the Past.
I expect that both it and Twilight Princess will eventually make it to NSO on the Switch 2, because there's already an emulator that can handle them. Quite what they'll do with the DS and 3DS games remains an open question though.
@FishyS@NintendoByNature I rather them bring it sooner then later. One being I have been wanting to finish that game for years now and the fact that you cant get a 3DS at reasonable price makes it hard to play the original. Which brings me to the other reason if they bring it out now it could come to the Switch rather then the Switch 2. Which like the 3DS version wont do me any good since I dont own a Switch 2.

Recently started this and I got up to the Zora quest and...i don't think I'm feeling the game at all so far.
Can I look forward to any new toys that make things more engaging, is there some secret tech that's fun to use for enemy encounters (I know locking onto enemies makes your echoes target them) or is this just the game?
