What's the difference with mods? I'm one of the few that haven't played Skyrim, and while my notebook has decent specs I'm not sure it could run it, so I'm pretty excited for the Switch version.
Idk about this game. Pretty much everyone who's wanted to play it has already. I know I have had my fill on ps3. Fallout 4 would have been better, but could the switch handle it?
@sentiententity I haven't played it and I wanted to but it wasn't a system seller for me. So this is perfect for me and I think plenty others. And don't forget, you can play this game on the go, which is pretty, pretty, pretty good.
i am not a big fan of mods, but there are some very important mods for skyrim like the one where books you have not read are glowing a little so you will know what you have to click on and what not. that mod alone is a reason to play this game on a platform that enables mods.
Out of curiosity, have there ever been instances where Skyrim mods have basically broken the game?
@Spoony_Tech: Not to digress too much, but care to elaborate on the reading a bit. I'm debating about downloading Metroid Prime Trilogy and am trying to figure out how story-heavy they are.
@Tyranexx There is a good deal of story there to read if you want. You scan objects and it tells you a bit about history, enemies, and many other thing. You can choose to ignore it if you like but either way these games need to be played! There's a reason why you see a lot of people begging for Prime 4. Also at 20$ or whatever it is now you can't go wrong with 3 high quality games!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
@Tyranexx Not too much more than the bugs Bethesda shipped it with. In all honesty the mod community is very vocal and very good at documenting issues. If a mod is popular it will list incompatibility issues if there are any. I have about 70 something loaded and I've yet to have an issue.
Also the unofficial patches are divinity in digital form. Fixes so many issues.

Metroid Prime is one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, with 2 high quality sequels made by the same developer. That you can get for less than the price of one new game.
There's literally no reason you shouldn't download it, unless you're one of those people that can't stand first person games.
Ah, I had heard that Skyrim had initially shipped with some bugs. Supposedly the PS3 version was pretty bad for awhile?
Also, I think everyone has convinced me at this point to play the Prime games. I've played the 2D Metroid games (barring Zero Mission) and enjoyed them, it's just that MPT looked so drastically different in footage I found that I was worried.

It was bug central when it first came out. You still see minor bugs occasionally, but nothing gamebreaking. I rarely see bugs at all anymore, to be honest, but maybe that's just me.
@DarthNocturnal I've never really found it to crash at all on the PS3. My system froze a few times, but that was about it.
By the way, how complicated is modding this game? I love vanilla Skyrim, but I've basically run out of stuff to do, which is pretty sad, considering this is one of the biggest games ever and it takes an obscene amount of time to get to the point where you wonder what's left to do.
Well, if you want to MAKE your own mods... complicated enough. There are guides out there. I think Bethesda even has their own “wiki“ of sorts for Creation Kit.
If you just mean getting mods, regular edition on PC uses Steam Workshop. Special Edition uses some weird Bethesda “workshop“ of it's own (havn't had a chance to look around yet). Of course, you can download and add mods manually as well.
Just be sure to read mod descriptions. They should let you know about any potential issues. Otherwise... I'd say it's not terribly complicated. Like I said earlier, don't save until you're sure all is well.
Yeah I meant getting mods, lol. So it's as simple as clicking the mod on the steam workshop and hitting download? (Not asking for you to teach me or anything BTW, just a general idea of how difficult it is)
Pretty much. You'll get updates (if the mod is ever updated) as well.
I assume it's similar for Bethesda's own setup on the Special Edition. Browse, click, download, install.
Nexus (3rd party mod site) can require you manually put the mod in the right folder, but that's just a few extra clicks. Plus they have their own mod manager you can get.
Oh, sweet! I was under the impression that it was some weird, convoluted process. Hmm, might have to pick Skyrim up on my PC next time there's a Steam sale. Thanks!
