@Wavey84 I'm actually kind of glad they went in the art direction they did. Too many indie games end up being sprite based so it was a breath of fresh air for me. Turtles seems to be a little of both which is cool too.

@NintendoByNature I feel the same way. I don't mind sprite usually, but I feel like indie games use sprite based graphics to evoke old game nostalgia and call it a day. For me it's how the sprites are animated. The turtle's run cycle in the trailer put a smile on my face because there was so much personality in that animation.

@Wavey84 animating it to look like the 80s cartoon would've been pretty cool. I think they did it pretty well as is. It does remind me of the Scott Pilgrim game, where the characters look like a mix of the graphic novel design with video game sprites.

@Losermagnet yes! The animations, movements, all of that look great in this. I wonder how many playable characters they'll give us.

i'm backlogged as hell with beat em ups (SoR4, Fight N Rage and River City Girls) hopefully i beat them all by the time this one comes around and even more HOPEFULLY it isn't as punishing as Scott Pilgrim was

I'll be honest, it took me a minute to think that you were talking about Mario World. I was very confused.

I doubt that would happen. Or should even. Unless they really think outside of the box, I don't know what they could make that doesn't essentially already exist, between NSMB games and Mario Maker.

@Wavey84 - Yeah, cringe. Online gimmicks and personas are cringe no matter what decade you pull them from. Most of us dudes and dudettes that have lived long enough to see some of our favorite franchises return from the dead aren’t shallow enough to completely dismiss them based solely on “graffix” like we were back on the playground.

3) Spinach, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, Italian Sausage and extra cheese.

I do hope that a TMNT game collection eventually hits the switch. I only really played one of em growing up (the first one...as I played it in the arcade) but I should try the others...

@Ryu_Niiyama I wonder if a collection would ever happen. I reckon the licensing would be too much red tape unfortunately

I agree. From a practical view point I feel like konami wouldn't be able to do it but I do wonder if all the license holders involved might find it financially viable if this one sells well. Turtles has sorta stayed relevant for several generations. (I'm a 90's kid so technically for me the TMNT are the live action movies and the 90s tv show and the video games and yet there are so many iterations of the franchise now.)

The collection was idea spaghetti really, I usually don't make wishlists like that but it was a good monday when a wrote it.

The mere mention of a Turtles Arcade collection sent me scurrying to google to see if it was somehow real. That would indeed be a killer collection.

I don’t wanna get greedy, but anyone else thinking about what other playable characters could make their way into this game aside from the Turtles? So many potentially cool options. I’ll just throw out Usagi as a long shot.

@Ryu_Niiyama same for me. The first three movies (even the third) and the SNES games, with a smattering of the 80s cartoon were my exposure.

@bimmy-lee I think it's reasonable to assume there'll be other playable heroes that are popular.

I'm thinking April, Splinter, Casey Jones, and.....not sure who the 4th would be. I think Usagi would be awesome but maybe a long shot.

@Losermagnet - Yeah, Usagi is probably beyond a long shot into a no shot due to some licensing thing. Seems a likely list you made, maybe Shredder himself could be the fourth option as a late game unlock depending on how the story plays out.
