@Snatcher I would probably just turn off the presentation and leave to get monkey ball if that happened. Fortnite really isn't a bad game but, it just cant be the last character

As for my real final prediction. With how Sakurai said it might not be someone we know I'm betting on SMT5 rep

I have been wanting to ask this for a bit, but we all know Banjo&K are amazing! I think its amazing how they got in the game, But how do you guys feel about there move set?

I mean I think its ok, But I feel like there a strange mix of mario and a tank at the same time, idk, I wanted to know what you guys think.

I don't really play smash, but I'm probably going to tune in to watch the thing tomorrow, given that I'm a bit interested in seeing what's going to end up wrapping up the game, and the inevitable discourse around it.

I honestly kind of hope the last fighter ends up being a Nier Replicant rep or a Nier Automata rep. I know it's not likely, given Square holds the rights to the IP, and it hasn't been on a Nintendo console before, but I really really think it could be interesting if they decided to include a character from that series.

Also, as for it being the final fighter, I really hope Sakurai takes a well deserved break from development. He earned it years ago, from working himself to the bone and even becoming dehydrated because of it. It's amazing what he was able to make for this installment, even if Smash ended up failing to get my interest. It's been a good few years, and I'm looking forwards to what the man does next, whether it's a well-deserved retirement, or it's another project entirely, unrelated to smash as a whole.

I think Banjo has a really cool but weird moveset that can be really satisfying when you learn to string his unorthodox projectiles into his great movement options. Or you can just go full head empty and spam wonderwing. Either way he’s fun

I feel Fortnite being a worldwide phenomenon deconfirms Jonesy, the wording of the comments suggests we're getting a character that is obscure in Japan but well known outside Japan.

That's why all the Master Chief predictions appeared, Xbox has always failed in Japan so Halo would be obscure in Japan but outside Japan, Halo is well known.

Unconfirmed reports are emerging that the final fighter has leaked, and that it's... cousin Roman from GTA4.

I don't see how a Fortnite rep is really a possibility at all - it's just too recent (and currently still short-lived) a phenomenon. Minecraft at least made some sense given (i) it has been around over twice as long, and (ii) Nintendo probably has some existing arrangement with Microsoft over Banjo-Kazooie. Plus we know there can be a bit of a delay between a game's release and a character's appearance in Smash --- ARMS and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 were both reasonably big Nintendo games bound to get a rep, but they both came out too late for a rep to appear in the base game. There'd have to be an incredibly quick turnaround from Fortnite releasing --> Fornite becoming big --> Nintendo wanting it in Smash --> Jonesy being developed as a character.

@Snatcher I didn't see anything to suggest that unless you're meaning the whole "must have appeared on a Nintendo system" rule but that could be resolved by announcing MCC or Infinite (MCC would be more likely) for Switch at the same time.

There is a sense of feeling unlikely though I can't really think of non-Xbox franchises that are big outside Japan but obscure in Japan. Xbox is easily obscure in Japan given every console has flopped.

Sora as the final DLC seems pretty fitting imo. I really gotta get around to trying the kingdom hearts games now

I think what Sora's inclusion represents is really cool though. Sora was chosen because of the poll. People were heard and given what they wanted. That is so rare in gaming even now.

I really thought it was going to be a Dark Souls character. Speaking personally I would have been more excited for that, but I am definitely in the minority! I'm glad it was such a popular, highly requested character, that's going to make a lot of people happy.

Now, finally, the bickering can stop. Not that it will, of course — probably going to be a Nick/Smash feud next.

That was quite the bombshell of a reveal, if I do say so myself. I wasn't expecting Sora to make it to Smash Ultimate, so it was honestly pretty cool to see! I'm happy with the reveal, and I'm especially glad for all the Kingdom Hearts fans out there who wanted him in. He looks fun to play as, too.
