Topic: Super Mario Party Jamboree

...Is....Is no one playing this game online, like...AT ALL? I've searched online, nothing, I've asked around, nothing...online multiplayer is just flat-out 100% dead here...and apparently not a single person in the world cares.... :/

See, I WOULD be messing around online, but I’ve got to finish my job before I come home and log on in a few hours. Maybe that’s the problem? Online multiplayer in games like smash bros is always slower during the weekdays due to work schedules. Maybe it will be more populated in the evening?

Could also be an influx of people crashing the servers, either or, but I believe like Nintoz said, it’s not peak play hours yet

@Joeynator3000 What mode (and map if Mario Party) are you choosing? Also are you choosing to include motion minigames?

I haven't delved into the motion stuff yet (I'm using a Pro controller) but was able to easily find matches in various modes.

...I think I was trying to do the online thing wrong, kept trying to start a room in the plaza, it's working now...

@Joeynator3000 How is it? I still haven't decided whether to get the game yet because I don't really have people to play with.

@FishyS It's alright, after figuring out how online multiplayer actually works, only had one error. Some minigames lags sometimes, though...you know, the usual Nintendo online stuff. lol

Loving the game so far, already played on one of the boards. However, the text for the CPU players goes rather slow, and I don't think there's an options menu for while you're in a round. Anybody know how to make that go faster?

There's a Toad in the hub area that you can talk to if you want to change characters, but he also has an option to speed up text messages across the game.

Ok, with three boards and one round of Koopathlon under by belt, I’ve been having a great time with this game. I was extremely concerned with the game being overly generous like in the original Super, and my fears are somewhat founded. However, Boo being easily accessible helps to alleviate some of that and the crazy amount of items gives people stuff to sink coins in, and there are at least a few more unlucky and Bowser spaces to get rid of some of it. I’ve played 3 of the 4 default boards, with the exception of Goomba Lagoon, and I enjoy all the gimmicks. Rainbow Galleria is probably my favorite so far, although I’m sure the sticker system is easily cheesable. I do have two main issues. First, the board length is stupid long. The partner system is fun enough depending on the minigame, but it adds bloat to an already pretty long game. I could reliably get 15 turn games over in less than an hour in Superstars, but it’s at least an hour and a half in this one. Also, while the minigames are fun so far, I have a feeling they’re gonna get repetitive soon. We have THREE different motion control side modes and we couldn’t spring for at least 75 regular minigames? The practice round of Koopathlon I played was fun, and I could see myself getting hooked.
Overall a big step up from Super, but I think the ease of play and wider variety of minigames will make Superstars better for me.

@Joeynator3000 I've only just been on it a couple of times and tried getting multiplayer going once. So if I don't get into multiplayer from the plaza, how else do we get into multiplayer matches?

Edit: by going directly to the islands and choosing 'worldwide' - okay that was actually really obvious, I got the answer. I'll have to try it another time though. I hope it's easier to find people to play with.

I love this game. But I'm still disappointed by the online mode. Like Superstars, if someone gets very lucky early on, they just close the game/dc. From what I played online Pro mode, in all of them after a few rounds there is only 1 real player left. Two if I count myself.
... There should be penalties for quitting. Oh, and reporting. There are shenanigans from other players that make the game literally unplayable. No seriously. You can do absolutely nothing. Even if I just ranted about disconnecting players, I had to dc myself to get out of the game...

I adore Koopathlon mode, it's easily one of my favorite parts of Jamboree. It's such a blast to play, with how fast-paced the minigames are and everything. I haven't played too much of Bowser Kaboom Squad as of this post, but from what I've played, I do like it.

@Toads-Friend Hey just tagging you here, hope you're doing good. Did you get Jamboree yet? And if so, how are you liking it? Would love to play a round with you sometime, been quite some time since we played Superstars.

I count myself as one of the three people who actually played Star Rush, and I remember thinking that Coinathlon would be a hit if more people played the game that it was in, because I played it all the time against the CPUs.
Glad to see that I was right.

Hope they fix online soon, Cant find any rooms so far since launch. This is not ok Nintendo… big game and no fix yet

Others are finding multiplayer easily enough; are you perhaps trying the wrong type of connection? If you read up a bit there is this comment:

Where am i supposed to look for rooms, if not at the plaza at the «online antenna» where you go online and search for rooms or create your own ?

And not all have an easy time with this.. threads on Reddit etc where people have major problems with this.

Seems like the plaza needs a fix. Cant start or create rooms there. Need to go in the hot air baloon and choose there what you wanna play, and if your wanna go against the World or cpu.

Hope they fix the plaza soon then. Its been really frustrating.

@Artonide For matchmaking you go in the balloon and pick whatever mode you want to play of which modes that support online have a "Worldwide" option.
