Topic: Super Mario Party Jamboree

Looks pretty good!
Would like to see the board games in action but the variety of characters and WESTERN LAND!!! are big plus points for me.

Oh and on that matter, I'm glad we've made it over the 6 board threshold which I think is the perfect amount for a Mario Party so the fact we got 7 is great

Dang it, I was beaten! I did make a thread for this game as well, but I was a few minutes late. It said that my original post was too short too... -_- I had to delete my copy of the thread. Anyway, here's my original post that I've copy-pasted.

A new Mario Party game has been announced, called Super Mario Party Jamboree, and it looks fantastic! There's a lot of boards in this game, too... really excited for this one. Been hoping for a new Mario Party game myself!

So this Mario Party game have the stuffs from N64 version games?
I didn't play N64 games but I have ever seen a little bit of Mario party games on N64.

@Anti-Matter Yeah it has Mario's Rainbow Castle from MP1 and Western Land from MP2!
I believe the mini-games are all new though

Well...

I was right... Many had hilariously low exceptions because of that Switch is "dead" now, but instead it blew many people's mind.
I'm still 100% sure of that this is not the "end", we will get more directs and announcements.
I have a feeling of that they may announce Prime 2 + 3 Remastered later to not "stealing" the spotlight from Prime 4.

How many "leakers" hasn't claimed for years after years that Windwaker + Twilight Princess will be coming to Switch now, like since 2018? It will never gonna happen because they has been already been HD remastered once. Nintendo isn't Sony who releases HD remaster of a HD remaster again after again...

This direct also shows how inconsistent many devs (Bamco especially!) are, some games looked awful while others looked amazing. Fairy Tail looks worser than many PS3 games, while PS3 (Xbox 360 too) never could had dared to dream about to running some games shown at the direct without completely melting down.

I'm really interested in that "Danganronpa" game.

Also no Level-5 games were shown here, just means that it will be more directs then.

I wonder if they're gonna be having GameCube-era boards in this one? That's something I would like to see. Or since there's five new boards and two classic boards, maybe we could have one board each from Mario Party 3, 4, and 5. If I were in charge, I'd put in Chilly Waters from MP3, Boo's Haunted Bash from MP4, and Toy Dream from MP5. Maybe even have the capsules/orbs exclusively for Toy Dream, since they do have a toy-like look.

Edit: Just saw the trailer once more and looks like Toad and Toadette are playable again! Hooray!

how is this not hyped that much!! as someone who got rid of mario party superstars im excited for this content packed couch coop game!!

7 boards is better than the other 2 on Switch but still feels like a low amount. Glad to see some returning maps! Hopefully we some new game modes and possibly even a story mode to make up for lack of maps. I wouldn’t mind DLC of GameCube-era maps (or even from MP8)

@PikminMarioKirby Honestly, with this current lineup, that's a pretty decent amount of boards. Most of the Mario Party games have six main boards, and Jamboree has as much boards as Mario Party 5 and 9.

Yeah, most Mario Party games have 6-7 main boards, not counting the extra modes like 3's Duel Mode or 6's Solo Mode. The only game to have more than that is the first one, so I don't see how this is a lack of maps.

@MarioVillager92 I'd love to see Gamecube boards added whether that be DLC or some kind Mario Party Superstars 2 later down the line.

Western Land is a great inclusion and while Mario's Rainbow Castle wouldn't have been my first choice, it's hard to complain when the new boards look so damn cool!!

Keeping an eye on this one, I'm just glad they're finally doing normal Mario Party again and sticking to it, no giant cars...no....whatever Top 100 did, never played it. lol

Personally I believe Mario Party often has been lacking in maps. If MK8DX can have 96 courses and 12/24 Grand Prix, I think it’d be cool if we got around 12 Mario Party maps per game (including some returning ones).

Not to say I’m not excited for this game, and I think 7 is pretty good, I just wish it was a bit more. These graphics look stunning as well.

The character amount seems very good as well. We’ve probably seen 20+ so far I think, so very happy with that. I can only hope for Koopa Kid’s return

@Nintoz Me too! I don't mind what the folks at Nintendo/ND Cube do, I'd love to see GameCube boards as well. The new boards look great, and yes, I loved seeing Western Land make a comeback! That was one of the boards I wish that Superstars had, but I'm happy to see that it's in Jamboree.

I feel like I'm generally more positive on "Super" than most folks, and never got around to picking up "Superstars," but I hope that this game can continue the upward swing of the Mario Party franchise. If they can learn their lessons from "Super," this feels like it could be a real return to form for Mario Party. The boards seem promising to me thus far. They certainly appear bigger than Super's boards, which always felt a tad bit too small to me.

Personally, I REALLY hope that they bring back the character dice from "Super." Sure, they were NOT balanced, but they added yet another element of potential chaos to the mix- especially those dice that leaned high risk-high reward.

I've been avoiding getting Mario Party games on Switch, but I think I may cave in and get this one. It looks good in general and the battle royale mode amuses me. We will have to wait to see all the mini games of course.

Superstars is actually not that bad, it was more like the classic games when it came to board gameplay.

I'm almost certain that those 2 classic boards were gonna be Superstars DLC and then they changed their mind for one reason or another. I'd be shocked if that isn't what happened, because its so random otherwise.

I think we've seen 4 player, 8 player, and 20 player mini-games.

This is going to a wild game, and I can't wait.

Seems like there will be several game modes (like the 20 player online one, normal party, etc.). Besides the ones listed, I found it interesting that Bowser seems like a normal playable character sometimes, but at other times he seems to be huge/the gimmick of a map/mini-game.

This game seems to have a lot in store. I can't wait to see more trailers to get a better look at all the game modes we're getting.

Also I saw different colors of Shy Guys and Toads which kind of seemed playable, wonder if that'll actually be a thing.
