@JakedaArbok Just to correct myself, I was looking at the boxart a minute ago and saw the Boo bell item so you'll be able to summon a boo through that method at least!
@JakedaArbok@Nintoz I believe Boo is still a part of the map, I think he has a stump in the Kart map, and a Boo sign can be seen from the bottom of the Goomba Volcano place.
@PikminMarioKirby Yeah I wonder what that's all about because I think most would agree NDCube is a better name.
The only reason I can think why they would do this is to better establish themselves as a subsiduary??
I think most people will still call it NDCube as at the end of the day, it's just an abbriviation of Nintendo Cube
@Nintoz It’s possible that Nintendo wanted NDCube to re-name themselves just so they’d be more like a Nintendo branch. I don’t mind the change too much, I’m sure I’ll get used to it eventually!
One thing I really hope happens with this game is that board selection is more random when playing online. With Superstars, it kept being Peach's Birthday Cake repeatedly unless you removed it from the rotation.
Any guess yet of whether the game will have a story mode? I'm much more likely to get it if it has a good 1-player mode to go through. I don't really know anyone in real life who likes Mario Party so couch co-op or even online co-op with friends is kind of out. I want good single player mode and good online rando person mode 😅
@FishyS It looks like it does based off the new Japanese website footage.
What exactly it entails is a bit difficult to gauge but it looks like it involves moving around the regular boards by yourself interacting with NPCs
@FishyS@Nintoz From what I've seen it's basically going to the in-game boards interacting with the locals (Toads, Spike, Goombas, Shy Guys, etc.) while being able to move semi-freely. I think the plot is essentially that you are are helping people set up the Party on the different boards. Seems like it's just a 1-player campaign, and this didn't even show up in the overview that I saw.
Literally every time I hear more about this game it becomes more and more promising. Mario Party 8 was the last 'great' Mario Party in my opinion, but this is looking to take the crown as one of the best in the series.
Yeah, I don’t remember too much from Super but I’m pretty sure they had Lakitu replace Boo in that game… don’t see him either.
My biggest gripe in Super was the lack of negative interactions that could happen on a board, leading to everybody just roaming around to get to the star.
I hope whatever events happen on the boards are a little more damaging to take the place of that.
I need to check the footage again, but is Chance Time gone too?
In the overview trailer you can see Boo stealing coins. I think he's back. I didn't see any Boo spaces either though.
Love what I'm seeing in the overview trailer. I already loved Mario Party Superstars and this game looks even better than that! The boards, minigames, and the Koopathlon mode all look fantastic, and heck, even Toad's Item Factory looks pretty fun.

Looks like certain ranks have to be obtained in order to unlock the Bowser board as well as the retro boards

I'm mostly going to be playing this with online matchmaking, I'm hopeful, but nintendo's online features have been pretty lacking. For those of you who have the mario party switch titles, are you still able to find matches or has it died out?
I played almost every mainline Mario party game. I am not trying to be a Debbie downer. I have no ambition playing more in the future. Super Mario Party seemed like a good idea with the character dice but it created a character meta that severely hindered the game. Only 4 maps, with an island map that, too me, is unplayable. Mini games were good!
Superstar is disappointing if you loved the original trilogy. It is too easy to gain coins in superstar. They literally throw coins at you. It's too easy to obtain 100 coins.
Online multiplayer always crashes mid game.
To understand where I am coming from my list of favorite to least favorite is,
MP3, MP2, MP 6, MP, MP 4, MP 5, the rest I do not care for. The best part about Mario party is the punishment! Once it became less punishing, it became a lot less fun.
@JesseA Very late reply but I tried it not too long ago and it was very difficult to find anyone online. If it prioritises more local connections then maybe I should have tried at a more peak time like a Saturday night or something.
Hopefully Jamboree will have more staying power as there's been a bigger push around online play this time
