@JoeDiddley Yep the sound quality is really poor. I'm disappointed Nintendolife didn't mention it in their review,in fact they said the sound is spot on. It was the first thing I noticed when starting the game. Will Capcom bother to fix it if major review sites aren't picking up on it.
Here's a video I uploaded last night showing just how out of sync and bad the audio is with this game. (Only happens for me in handheld mode, which is what I was playing here......)
Despite this, I played 4 hours yesterday of the game - all offline, as my Switch refuses to connect to my home Wifi (I had to come to my work to upload this video to twitter).
Maybe it's the games issue that my wireless headphones keeps screwing up and dying or something....for my docked switch, I got wireless headphones with a base that connects to the switch, and ever since playing this game, my headphones like last 5 minutes and then they just die out or something....
@Lroy I was struggling when I first got my MadCatz arcade stick, after some research I learned many stick makers use Square restrictor gates and in NA we are more accustomed to Octognal gates
you will need to watch YouTube videos on Square vs Octognal gates to see what I mean (unless you do)
I picked up a octognal gate on amazon and it was night and day difference for me
just some food for thought
@ValhallaOutcast@Lroy I can confirm that the octogonal gate changes things quite a bit - I changed my initial square gate to an octogonal which allows me to perform moves a little more consistently. Bought the gate and other bits and pieces on Arcadeworld
Finally I get my fair share of gaming.
Praise the Switch!

@wasilewski That's the controller I use for Street Fighter. I bought the U.S. one with the indented X and Y buttons because I'm more familiar with the feel of the SNES controller. The Super Famicom one with the candy colored buttons sure is pretty though! I also use my 8bitdo controller for games like Tropical Freeze, Mega Man, Gunvolt, shmups and bmups.
Edit: After reading some posts in this forum I went ahead and ordered a Pokken controller from Amazon. It's supposed to arrive on Saturday so I'll share my thoughts after spending some time with it.
So I download the 30th Anniversary collection, and it appears that the game lets me do everything BUT the thing I REALLY want to do, which is play against the computer in Arcade mode.
When I chose "Arcade," no matter which game I select, "Free play" blinks in the bottom and it shows the computer playing its own games. I can't even take control of the buttons to do anything!
I'm a 30-year game vet and I've never been stumped like this. Can anyone de-stupid me here??

Unless you have remapped the buttons, you need to push the '-' (minus button). That adds a credit.

@Fafounet ya I want to change my buttons and ball top to some other colours but changing the gate made the world of a difference, I was almost gonna sell the stick because I could not do quarter or half circles with it on a square gate
@ValhallaOutcast@Fafoubet any vids or a text guide on how to swap out the square gate for a circular one? Also, why is the Stick shipped with a square gate if the circular one is 'better'?

@Lroy the square gate is more popular in Japan/Korea and I guess thats just the more popular market for fight sticks so rathr than having multiple skus the square has been the default
here is a guide for the PS4 Rap4 but the inside is identical on the switch so the guide would be the same
here is a video of a guy swapping buttons on the switch Rap4 so you can see that the inside is the same
here is a Octagnal gate from a reputable US seller you might be able to find one local to you if you are from somewhere else to save on shipping but just search for restrictor plate
@Lroy I used vids from Hasteo on you tube back when I modded my stick a year and a half ago. I will send you the links through discord. He also has a very good explanation of the difference between octogonal and square gates. I am by no means super tech savvy but it was real easy for me to do. I bought my PS4 fighting stick always fully knowing that I would be modding it with Sanwa parts, so I can understand your reluctance in modding an expensive piece of kit as it should be good to go out of the box. Which it, but in the end it comes down to personal preferences. @ValhallaOutcast modded my buttons with Sanwa buttons. Result is much better than with the initial cheap and cheerful buttons. Plus I got to customise my stick! @CaPPa yes I already mentioned in this thread that I use the Magic NS adapter which lets me use wirelessly my PS4 dual shock for anything requiring a decent Dpad and my PS4 fightstick. No lag, good product all around. You just need to update the firmware once you get it.
Finally I get my fair share of gaming.

@Lroy yes good setup indeed. But it does not prevent my butt getting kicked online!
The white dongle is the infamous Magic NS adapter that I need for my fightstick to be compatible with the Switch. But it works like a charm!

@Lroy Great! I'll be there. Right now STFAlpha3 seems to have a more solid online connection than the rest of them (for me anyway). Perhaps Capcom will have patched the game by then (clearly wishful thinking).
