@ValhallaOutcast Thanks for the link. I'm hesitant to mod my Stick what with it being so new but it might be something I could try in the future. Cheers.

Having tons of fun with these games. World Warrior is still as fun as it's always been and it was fun going through Alpha and vanilla 3 for the first time. Some good music in those two games that didn't make it to the later iterations of their respective series.
It's a fantastic collection but I'm finding it virtually unplayable with every character except Chun Li when using the joycons. I can't get a single special using the directional buttons. I can do a few hadokens with the stick but it's still hit and miss. The sticks travel is also too far to be able to pull of any moves with characters like Blanka or Guile. I know the arcade versions were less forgiving than the console ports but I could manage to pull out specials back in the day (even on the Street Fighter punch pads). So I think that I need to get a better controller or wait for a d-pad joycon to actually play the game.
So far I've only played up to SSFII, but today I'm going to check out the Alpha and SFIII games as I've never played any of them before.
@CaPPa totally agree with you about the Joycon controls. Itβs extremely frustrating and I keep checking to see if Iβm doing the correct inputs.
Iβm not sure if this is something Capcom can fix, or even will fix.
As you say itβs probably best to wait for a D pad Joycon. Iβm thinking of ordering from Play Asia when it becomes available. Hopefully the shipping and import charges wonβt be too high.

This game is unplayable with joycons. Cant play portable mode till hori release the dpad joycon.

I am considering returning my copy. I was so looking forward to this and itβs disappointing. I canβt justify paying money on a Pro Controller.

Pro controller D-Pad isnt great so don't get that just for street fighter. Buy the pokken controller. It retails under Β£20.
You must have had an idea before buying that the switch joycons with no dpad were gonna be a problem though.
@wasilewski I highly recommend getting the SF30 Pro,you'll be glad that you did. Works flawlessly with this collection and all the other arcade games. The D-pad and build quality of the controller is superb.

I didn't think about the D Pad issue at all to be honest. I thought it would have been ok with the thumbstick controller. I hadn't played games in about 15 years before I got the Switch.

Might just be me but I am finding that moves seem to be slightly more consistent to execute in the later STREET FIGHTER games. E.g. ALPHAs and STREET FIGHTER IIIs. Such a weird and hard to fathom control issue and one I never for a moment considered I'd have. I'm going to keep experimenting with all my available control schemes: joycon in handheld mode, Pro Controller and HORI Arcade Stick. I really, really don't want to have to buy another controller for the Switch. No matter how good the 8-Bit Do Pad might be.
Then again, I think @Agent721 mentioned there is one that can be used for both the Switch and SNES Mini or am I getting two different variants of 8-Bit Do controllers mixed up as one?
I'm also really keen to play ULTRA STREET FIGHTER II on Switch now. If I see it at Β£20 or less, I'll buy it. I want to see if I get on any better playing with my Arcade Stick on that game like some people have said.
@wasilewski That's the one but order it from this seller instead as it's cheaper. This is the seller I got mine from as well. No idea what the McBazel name in the title means but it's the genuine controller. Even the packaging it comes in and the free keyring are top quality. Just be aware though,it can be a little fiddly to connect sometimes. Just a minor thing though.
