@Barbiegurl777
Oh, btw.
Since you have played the game, how many Save data slots available for the remake version?
I remembered there were 2 or 3 slots available from PS2 version.
I’m a little sad because I thought having the game on the go in the switch would motivate me to continue the story and see the end, but I basically repeated the pattern of getting married and losing interest, just like on game cube.
@Barbiegurl777 it is weird because I do really like the game. I just lose interest after a year or two.
As a kid I played a lot of Friends of Mineral Town, so it’s also one of my favorites. It’s a very different looking game, but if you’re interested it goes on sale every now and then.
@Barbiegurl777
Story of Seasons Friend of Mineral Town is WAAAAY MUCH Better to play than A Wonderful Life in term of basic gameplay.
You have more marriage candidates (6 Normal candidates + the secret candidates), a completely makeover of every peoples, same gender marriage, you have Mayor, you have a church to legalize your marriage, you have actual festivals, you have a full 30 days each season, you have proper names of each days, you have 7 Harvest Sprites to help you in your farm, a new way to get rich easily, you can go deep further in mines, etc.
Because the game are basically a remake from Friends of Mineral Town GBA that actually based on Back to Nature PS1 and I have ever played the PS1 version so I pretty much already knew a lot of basic gameplay of Friends of Mineral Town remake with some adaptation for the changes in the game.
A Wonderful Life is lack of basic things from previous games like I have ever explained before. It focused on your kid's future and completely neglected the important things what make previous games played better.
Also, the game is very linear and you must get married or Game Over, it gave you more pressure if you accidentally failed during the process. I have ever played A Wonderful Life from PS2 version two times from Japan and USA version (with pirated copies during that era) and I felt the games are really lack of important things despite the hybridization of your crops / fruits and watching your kid's future were something interesting from the games. It still left me some unsatisfied feeling to see a lot of missing stuffs.
Will I get A Wonderful Life again ?
Well, of course, just to indulge my guilty pleasure despite I already know the games are already Not so good.
Will I claim A Wonderful Life as the best game?
NO. It lacks of important things.
And if I have a chance, I will try to get both PS2 version for the original version and PS5 version for the remake version.
@Eel
You can continue the game indefinitely after finishing chapter 6 as the game will ask you to Save before starting the chapter 7: Beyond (it named The Heaven in PS2 version) so you can continue your last progress as long as you want.
Here is the video for the proof.
Watch from minute 25:37.
@Barbiegurl777 it started on the SNES, and yes, Friends of Mineral Town is basically a remake of Back to Nature on PS1, with a few changes to story and content.
The new version is strictly based on the GBA games, including the “More Friends of Mineral Town” version, which added a few new events. So any content that was already cut from the PS1 game is still missing, but the new re-remake does add new things too.
@Anti-Matter ah yes, I know about the heaven chapter.

@Ryu_Niiyama ah woah! The end is nigh. Do share how it goes for your child in the end, I’ve always been curious about the child career paths and that stuff, but have never really gone past chapter 3.
May a suggest Lumina for the next lifetime? (Save her from Rock)
Edit: All this AWL talk is making me want to continue my file. So I’ll get to that once I finish FFII.
@Barbiegurl777 Marvelous (the developer) made Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town, not made by Nintendo.
Btw, you don't need to show all of your Gameboy games when we are talking about Story of Seasons games.
There is a new flower on remake version, it called Trick Blue flower.
It will turn your crops and fruits into Blue color with hybridization.
The crops names also changed with Blue inside their names such as Waterblue, Bluemato, etc.
That's so cool hybrid, never ever exist on old games version.
@Barbiegurl777
"I'm aware that nintendo didn't make harvest moon series."
Again, Marvelous is the maker of Story of Seasons and previously Harvest Moon games.
Marvelous is the game developer of that franchise.
Nintendo don't make Story of Seasons / Harvest Moon games.
Harvest Moon games now developed by Natsume after the breakout from Marvelous, not by Nintendo because Nintendo never make those games.
Take a note.
@Barbiegurl777
Oh, btw.
I posted one video about hybridization above.
Better you check it out because there were something new added, never before seen from older version.
@Eel So I don't want the Town Heiress to end up with the town loser (you know you have no ambition when the town hippie does more than you), but I played the original and still consider Lumina as a child. In my head the player character is in her mid 20's and Lumina was still in high school when the game started. Too big of an age gap and in the wrong direction. I was always weirded out by the guys (game was originally male PC only) that wanted to romance Lumina. Probably also because I was a teenager at the time as well, and I will never understand the obsession with dating high school girls.
Anyway. To make this less heavy. I am considering Molly because it is crazy how she gets dumped EVERY YEAR. Like I am afraid to leave my farm on the first of the year because she grabs me to cry on my shoulder. I feel like Nami is looking at me while I hold this crying woman going "Again? Really?" I feel like this is how some spouses end up in misunderstandings (Nami trusts me but is annoyed by Molly). My kid looks like she will be an Artist (I didn't want to overly influence her) so I will just roleplay that she came back after getting jaded from working in an Art Gallery or something. Still paints on the side though.

@Ryu_Niiyama ah she’s definitely the one that feels like she actually wants to get married. (Molly)
About Lumina, I suppose playing Harvest Moon DS so much helped me see her as a regular adult. I kinda wish they had stuck to her adult design like in that one, but I do appreciate that they at least made her tall in this one.
@Eel I mean it is semi realistic as it is obvious Lumina maintains a crush on the PC. (her being very upset when you introduce your fiancee for one) I just can't go there. I skipped the DS entry (Cute) but I may get it in Japanese so I can marry Nami there...I mean put on wedding dresses and be best friends and roommates forever cough. Yeah Molly seems like she doesn't want to be alone. Welp I gotta get back to my seed guide now that I finally got all the seed combos.

That reminds me, I did see an event with Lumina during my first year I found a bit cheeky. Basically it was her greeting me and saying something along the lines of “now that you moved in, I’m glad to have someone my age to speak with!”
Knowing the “extended lore” of the character, it’s quite funny how on the nose it is.
About DS, I believe it’s worth mentioning that on the Japanese “for girls” version you can only become “best friends” with the magical girls, not the regular ones; so unfortunately Nami is not an option.
@Eel Yeah I was thinking of Cute rather than DS when I typed it. But I tend to lump paired games descriptively when I know what game I want to play. I only play male PC when that is the only option and I sometimes forget that female being the default goes against the English language and thus would be confusing if I don’t clarify.
Lmao about Lumina talking about someone her age.

Just keep going with your plan to encourage your kid in Academic path.
Keep using the machines, keep befriend with Daryl, visit the science lab oftenly, show your kids with electronic tools, answer the question from your kid to encourage Academic interest.
Your kid is a teenager currently, have some unstable mood or thought so better just keep going with your current plan as he will changed his mind again during adult stage.
