as far as the obsession and burnout, I was in that same exact situation for over a decade, from day 1 of Splatoon 1 to the middle of Sizzle Season 2024. You know what helped me? A change in mindset, becoming more intentional and goal-oriented with my play, and, eventually, joining the competitive scene.
What would everyone include in their hypothetical Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch 2 edition?
For me I’d love:
120 fps
Higher resolution
Third Kits
Endless Side Order mode
(I would say endless Salmon Run but I think that’s an S4 thing)
Daily quests which give some form of currency used to buy items from old catalogs
Additional Splatfests beyond the promised amount.

@Xenoblade-Fan Having 3rd kits be S2 exclusive sounds like asking for a riot. S1 player have to deal with being matched up with (presumably) better kits that they can't access? Sadly, that would not go well at all. That said... BRING 'EM ON!! I am getting a Switch 2 so I won't have issues with that!
Tomodachi Life releasing in 2026 makes me think Splatoon 4 is releasing in Spring/Summer 2026 as I don't think it would make much sense to have Tomodachi Life and Animal Crossing in the same year.

I won’t lie, I forgot about the promise I made to you all until I saw an email notification from the NLife forums, so that’s my bad. Anywho, here’s how my weekend went:
Honestly, it was amazing. The people, the sights, the sounds, it was all incredible, and it all felt so right. I’ll attach a link to the Google Photos album with all sorts of photos and videos (Splatoon-related and otherwise) and a face reveal or three. In short, it felt like home for me in a way that the suburbs just haven’t. The level of independence I was able to achieve blew my mind, and I now have a sense of just how much I’ve missed out on living outside of a large city. Now, it’s not perfect, but it seems a lot closer to enabling me to have an easier time with the things I can do, rather than punishing me with a harder time because of the things I can’t do. All that is to say, I can’t wait to go back. And I’m not making any decisions now, but one day I just might not return.
@AccessibleDaydream so glad you enjoyed! I live in a small town with a family that is pro-small town, and as much as I see their reasoning for loving it… give me that city life! I will probably be moving out soonish (ew adulting) and I am definitely looking at living in at least a slightly more metro area!

@CaleBoi25 I didn’t have the team present shirt, unfortunately. As far as going to a LAN, that barely scratched the surface, because there were people, but not a huge number, in all honesty (probably 60-70, if even). I’m not sure if I shared this, but this particular Big Dapple was actually the local qualifier for the national circuit happening later this month:

@Dev-N Seeing shiver play the [instrument, I forget the name lol] is nice since her VA also plays it! I like Mig Man's little booth... but I gotta say, I was hoping to see Frye jamming out on her flute rather than doing whatever it is that she's doing lol.
