loss, loss, loss, loss, loss, loss. Brutal splatfest. None of the matches were even close. The other team always seemed partied up, while mine were sh*t. If all the little timmy's are playing turf war, maybe I'll have a better chance in Salmon Run.
I'm glad it's not just me then đ
I usually win about 60% of my Turf War matches, but every Splatfest I seem to end up on a massive losing streak.
I wasn't going to mention it because I didn't want to sound salty, but at least it's not just me.
On a much more positive note, I really like the Grand Festival area! I actually spent about 30 minutes going around the different stages to hear my favourite songs. I'm glad they're using the live concert arrangements.
Also, has anyone been seeing this? There are these people who are making these tags, where they add them to their names. I have seen several different clans.. One, [â], I have seen at LEAST 12 people. Then, there is this other, [SN], where there are around 8 people, (I can name 3, [SN]Em, [SN] NEXU5, [SN]iper.) I have also seen several tags each on one person, such as [SO], [IK] [MN], and so on. Just wondering, since these guys (I think) are using tactics, because there was a E-liter 4k, and a mini splatling, was completely destroying, since nobody could get at the sniper because of the splatling!
Who else saw the SN guys wining 10x battles?
It seems that X battles are WAY more frequent.
Btw, Croctapus, I think I went with you! If your nickname is your username... @WoomyNNYes, Have you been losing 10x battles all the time though? My friend found a way to increase 10x likelihoods, you do a Tri battle like 3-4 times, then do an open. He got 5, almost in a row! (not that he won them...)
@Vector I did have a 10x battle, and lost. Looking at my history of who I played with, teammates had 50, 90, and 75, 100. And regarding Croctopus, there are plenty of people with that username. I played with a Croctopus like two weeks ago, and it wasn't the Croctopus in here.đ
On a positive note, all the newbs are in splatfest, and I had better luck with Salmon Run teams, and got back to EVP. I think SR's teammate meta might skew toward better right now. @CaleBoi
The venue is GRAND. They really nailed the concert vibes. So many jellies. The decorations. The chibi idol plushies. DJ Octavio and Cuttlefish at a booth together along with Spyke and Murch both attending. This feels like the most special thing Nintendo has done in a game of theirs. That's not even getting to the performances themselves!
It stings that we didn't get any points from Sneak Peek, but my Future teammates have played well in my experience. I've had quite a few mirror matches, so maybe we're more popular than I thought. Team Past has been rare outside of Tricolor. I've won a couple of 10x battles.
Best of all; I've won a 100x battle! Already! Even before getting to Ruler rank, I can board the Giant Clam stage for photos already. Here's proof. I'm the Octoling boy with a ponytail on the far right with the Yellow Pinhole Shades and Shivery Squidkid IIIs. I'm alternating between five different fits for Grand Festival.

What's with the giant, human-sized bikes parked at grand festival? The size of those bike those bike frames are ridiculous. No squid people in the game can ride those! Nobody in the game can ride these bikes.đ
I'm having some major problems during Grand Fest, I don't know it's my internet or server problems. Checked my internet everything's fine, but im constantly getting communication problems and getting disconnected it happened 10 times in a row!! And I'm waiting over 5 minutes for matches. It took me 10 minutes to find a match only to have someone disconnect in the first 20 sec. I only had 3 full matches yesterday.
@WoomyNNYes I'll try changing my locker, let me know if that changes it...
Guys, I cannot get enough of the jellyfish security guards! They are so awesome! I actually started shouting when I saw Ocatavio and Cuttlefish at the venue, though I wish Acht and maybe even the Agents had shown up. Nonetheless, I spent almost an hour walking around and enjoying the vibes!
Hello, Your order of the commemorative Splatoon 3 Grand Festival T-Shirt will be shipping soon. However, the expected delivery date will be after the Splatoon 3 Grand Festival in-game event has completed. You will receive a shipment confirmation with more exact delivery details in the following week. We apologize that you will not be able to wear your Splatoon gear during the festival.
After having a great Thursday night, I'm having a sour Friday morning and already tempted into thinking Team Future is absolutely doomed. Such are the highs and lows of Splatfest. What's new?
Not getting my Splatfest tees on time doesn't help.
I kept not-seeing the dpad emotes icons for the concerts at grand fest. Be sure to see them in the lower left of the screen, and use them! That white font/icon was really flying under my radar for so long.
@CaleBoi25 Nintendo waiting until mid/late august to sell the shirts, was already problematic, I think. But I agree, it sucks not-getting the grand fest shirts etc in time for grand fest. I've had enough disappointment waiting for certain bike parts to be supplied and shipped, I feared that could be an issue with Grand Festival.
I'm a newbie to the game compared to the rest of the players. I don't have time to play much. What are the ways to level up quickly at the festival? Which mod do you recommend?
@JokerCK It depends on if you're talking about leveling up your XP level or your catalog level.
XP Level: In the lobby, you can talk to the guy at the food stand (next to the capsule machine), and use food tickets to buff your XP gains - lasts for twenty matches. There are food tickets that can give you a 1.5x buff, and a 2x buff for XP. (*At that stand, there are also food tickets buffs for earning money, and drink tickets buffs for increasing your chance of determining the what abilty you get when you earn ability chunks.)
As far as the catalog goes, there's nothing you can add to earn catalog faster, however there are periods where the catalog has a 1.2x multiplier buff - that's during Splatfest, Big Run, and the last two weeks of a season. So, currently in this spaltfest, when you catalog meter grows after a match, you'll see a "1.2x" icon on it.
As far as modes to play for leveling up XP and catalog, playing turf war is about the fastest, most consistent way to level up.
@JokerCK Turf War is "technically" the best mode for levelling up your catalog, while Anarchy Battles are better for your player XP. @WoomyNNYes Fun fact, that Crab N Go worker's name is Marigold, and she is my fave S3-original NPC, after Nails/Gnarly Eddy.
@CaleBoi25 With, JokerCK being a newbie. Are Anarchy Battles really going to be faster for someone new to Splatoon? That's why I didnt' mention Anarchy. I didn't want to dump too much info on JokerCK.đ
Havenât been able to dive in yet to help out Team Past but when I get home soon, hopefully. I took a long detour to NintendoNY to grab the T-Shirts, the Off the Hook and Squid Sisters amiibo, and the Smash Bros. Inkling which I completely forgot was a thing. Now I have to restrain my wallet until next month, Lol! (Unfortunately that may also include not getting the digital version of the Marvel Fighting Collection)
Btw, if you guys feel youâre fighting teams, you probably want to avoid Open, if thatâs what youâre queueing up for, as thatâs the mode that allows people teaming together. Pro is the classic solo mode from Splat2 with Splatfest Power in addition to Clout.
@JokerCK For now it depends on your weapon, and later your play style. Basic clothes to equip would be ones with Ink Recovery Up and Sub Saver to refill your tank quicker and make your sub-weapons use less ink. Swim Speed Up is good for mobility, and your tank refills quickest while swimming. And Comeback lets you respawn with boosted abilities, and to a lesser extent Last Ditch Effort, which is a guaranteed boost in mobility and ink efficiency but it only activates in the last 30 seconds of any battle. You should also use the conch shells you earn while playing in the Splatfest (when you gain Catalog levels) at the capsule (gacha) machine next to the snack bar in the lobby as you might get food and drink tickets to use at the snack bar. XP is used for unlocking more weapons. Once a day, after the server resets, you can roll the machine once at a reduced price of 5,000 coins, too. Playing Salmon Run is the main way to earn tickets after the campaign, IIRC. Money is for more clothes (gear) at the shops. Donât worry about buying locker decorations when starting out, they donât help gameplay.
Playing in Anarchy Battles after Splatfest will help earn XP and Catalog Points fastest when you win. Salmon Run is the fastest for quick money when the rotation changes even though thereâs a bit of RNG to it. Similarly to Catalog rewards when you redeem them from Harmonyâs shop.
@CaleBoi25 I saw Acht in a tent watching the left-most stage. Very easy to miss if you donây turn completely around from the audience and look at the tent which will then be on your right in order to see them.
It would've been cool if even more NPCs like all the shopkeepers appeared at the venue, but I'm content with the cameos as is. I guess they still need to run their shops since the venue hasn't been nearly as restrictive as I thought. There's still the shops, lobby and Salmon Run, but no Tableturf Battle. The venue just replaces the hubs.
Another cameo that's story mode related... The remnants of Mr. Grizz's rocket from the final boss battle appear in between the Giant Clam stage and Great Splatlands Bowl.
