The Splatfest takes place April 12th - 14th (11th - 13th for some regions due to timezones) and like the past 2 seasonal Splatfests there's a link in the article to be able to redeem old Splatoon 2 gear making their debut in Splatoon 3.
Hello everyone! A few small personal updates for you:
after everything two months ago with my old team, I may finally be back! Today I played about 25 open matches, before attempting my S rank-up battle for the first time this season, and I wasn’t excessively tilted for the majority of it.
considering that each of the previous seasons where I got the S rank up battle, it was in the list two weeks of the season, getting the opportunity within the first month is huge. Also the fact that my stamina was good for what was basically 30 matches!
at the beginning of the month, I was offered a spot as a sub for a div 10 team called Luna Park, for the duration of the LUTI season. So far, I’ve played with the team once, and I’ll be doing so a second time this Sunday.
I have decided not to go to Riptide, however in the next few weeks, there is a local called Big Dapple in New York City that I may be flying up to for a weekend, which is super exciting.
Last but not least….
I have been offered the opportunity to try out for a div 10 team called Sleepy Squids, who are themselves playing in LUTI this season, and are actually 2-1 out of three weeks so far. I played a rotation of open with the captain today, and the vibes were really, really good.
So that’s what’s new with me and Splatoon. I’m super excited to be back, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.
@Xenoblade-Fan thank you! to be clear, my series was 2-3, so I have to grind out another 126p to be able to have another attempt. But it’s still much earlier in the season for me to be at this point than in either of the previous two seasons, so everything’s still looking great.

@AccessibleDaydream I might not be playing as much Splatoon this month in favour of xcx. However, because I have been trying to learn new weapons I might want to play a little so I don’t lose it.
@CaleBoi25@Xenoblade-Fan@Dev-N Huge news friends! Next weekend (the first weekend in April), I’ll be in NYC for my first-ever Splatoon LAN event! I’m so, so excited (and grateful) for this opportunity, to get to meet some of my new friends from the last six months or so (two of which are featured alongside me in the clips in my last post), but also to put my name out there, get a bunch of connections, make a whole bunch of new friends, and explore the City. I was thinking of taking lots of photos, which I might very well be able to share if you all are interested.
Unfortunately, the following weekend, I likely won’t be able to play Splatfest, since I’ll be pretty cooped up after surgery for a deviated septum where they have to use general anesthesia. So that’ll be, “fun”, but at least I should be able to breathe better after it, lol.
I also had a tryout this past Monday, but it likely won’t lead anywhere because, according to my coach and one of their friends, it would take me sacrificing my own improvement and ability, just to get them up to where I am, at least in terms of game sense. (Although the one so-called Heavy Edit “player” really is just kind of there, lol, compared with the other two. I thought about suggesting you try out, @CaleBoi25, but I know you don’t have Discord, I’m not familiar enough with you to know if you’d be interested in a vibe of “friends playing the game together, but doing the whole team thing because it’s what feels right(?)”, and I have a feeling you’d actually quickly outpace them, in terms of dedication and motivation with improvement.)

@AccessibleDaydream Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun. What kind of comps do you want to play? Also it seems like you’re going to be in the city while the Switch 2 Experience happens, maybe you’ll get to peak or hear some anecdotes.
Also everyone stop wishing for third kits, wouldn’t you rather have them work on Splatoon 4?
@Xenoblade-Fan do you mean what kind of weapon compositions do I want to play? Sorry, the question you asked doesn’t really have enough context for me to know how to answer.
And I will be in the City as the experience is happening. Plus, I just looked, and the experience is just a short 15 minute train ride from where I'll be staying! I might even be able to stop by for a peek on my way to the hotel when I first get to the City! If I get any glimpse of it, I'll be sure to take photos for you all.

Actually, I did get a Discord, but I still have no clue how to use the app so... Maybe don't refer me to anyone yet haha! Plus, at this point in time I am very busy with a ton of IRL stuff (won't bore you with the details tho), so joining a team, no matter how casual, is not a good idea right now (both for me and for the team who would have to schedule around me) 😓 That said, once I get the hang of it I will send you a DM or whatever (boy do I sound old with how little I know about social media haha)

Oh, I did the same thing. No 3rd kits or anything else that even mildly excited me so back to the long wait of checks calendar 5 days for the Switch 2 Direct!
I have been slowly getting back into Splatoon, but I am being very careful to limit myself to avoid burnout. I now know that I as an individual have a tendency to obsess for days or weeks (or even 2 years in this case) but when I crash I crash hard and I don't want that to happen again, so I only play one or two Anarchy Series a week now.
I'm going with afternoon, split between afternoon and night (can go either way) but I'd much rather try to help Frye win than contribute to Big Man's neverending win streak.
At the moment it seems the only way Big Man can lose is if they do another Squid Sisters vs. Off the Hook vs. Deep Cut Splatfest.
