AHHHHH. I'v'e lost first wave three five times in a row quite spectacularly. So long EVP 120. My kingdom for a solid SR team! Am I the only fool in eastern US playing solo queue? Are all experienced players playing in pools now??
I sit here waiting with a room created, and my two switch friends will never notice because they haven't looked, and because the game doesn't ping your friends when you've created a room. Once you create a room, you can't see your friend's status to see if they're even still playing. So, you wait blindly. Seems like bad design to me. What is the point of this room system in SR?
Keep in mind, though, I rarely add switch friends precisely because this sort of thing never works (for me anyway). And 99% of the time anyone here want's to play, it's never when I'm playing. Granted, I'll take the blame for playing at erratic times. Seems like I'm not in the mood to play when others are.

Try joining the HazCo pool. You can join other people that are somewhat decent. Or open up a lobby yourself and ppl are joining your lobby.
I'm at 134 highscore. Like last Big Run. Probably won't be top 5% with this score again.
Btw. If you want to beat Horroboros, focus on his bomb in his mouth. If it blows up, it deals massive damage!
@WoomyNNYes I'm at a 144 highscore! Got lucky enough to be matched with two white slopsuit wearing japanese (?) players who were very effective. It was so cool!
Last time I was at 129 highscore, I was not anticipating these results😭, so hopefully now I'll get in the 5%
@Budda What's the source of the HazCo pool? I'll give it a try. This will be my first time trying to join a pool with a password.
@Grumblevolcano Yeah, I haven't had great luck with weapon loadouts in big run. Compared to the last big run, this time seems to have a much higher newb population. I get A LOT of teammates with newb banners and early-game Octavio or Marie/Callie badges.
So, I've tried the Hazmy "hazco" pool. I thought it would be better. I complete 3 waves more often, but barely. And we're only getting 75-80 eggs. I'm in EVP 120. I was really hoping I'd get a better shot at getting a higher score with the egg count. I still seem to get at least two newbs on my team (judging by the banners and badges). I had two Horrorboros encounters, won one, but only depleted took half horrorboros's health.
With the team that did defeat horrorboros, the following job didn't go well. Wave 1 was fine. Then wave 2, it was like someone was AFK. At the point tally, I didn't see any stats that looked like dead weight. So, I'm not sure what was going on.
If anyone does the pool though, and sees SpaceDandy, that's my switch username. I guess I'll keep using the pool, cross my fingers for a better outcome.
Let me know if anyone has good luck with hazmy pool, and what region you're in. I'm assuming people may still be matched with a regional bias while within the pool.
Okay, I have a new goal for these Big Runs: instead of trying to place in the top three, I’ll play until I get to witness the King Salmonid for my picture-taking scrapbook. Just like I did in the last one.
Got a new high for big run, 130 eggs. At least it's better than my high from last big run, which was 121. Ironically, I got the 130 eggs when I did a freelance after doing the Hazco pool for an hour. But the following freelance ended very early in the first wave. I think 130 eggs landed a silver big run badge. I'll take it. It's better than the purple top 50% badge I got last time.
Ohhh, I didn't realize Horrorboros' weakness is it's booyah bomb in it's mouth. It deals a lot of damage to horrorborosyou can shoot it's booyah bomb enough while it's in his mouth. Perhaps I'm late to the party learning this. Hazmy shows it in the video.

Yea. Many players in this pool often aren't better than freelance random players. That's why I said 'somewhat decent''. Just the chance of getting paired with really bad players is lower.

Yeah, I only figured it out as it’s mouth bomb started getting covered with paint so it popped into my head maybe I should shoot that.
I have now found two teams whose players have managed to make connection between the game mode about collecting golden eggs and the act of collecting the golden eggs.

Forgive me.🤣 As soon as Hazco pool was mentioned, I comedic-ly vanished from the computer, leaving a puff of sonic vapor cloud & a spinning mouse at the desk. I had Salmon Run pool tunnel vision for the rest of the night.😁
Pardon a second post. Does anyone know what egg count percents were from the last big run? I can't find them, surprisingly. I'm assuming we have to wait for this big run to end before they announce the egg total tiers for this big run?
This time around, in freelance, I thought getting more eggs has been harder than last big run. Although, I guess I wondered that yesterday before I realized how big SR pools could get. I'm guessing there's a chance that pools could potentially skew the results. People in pools could be raking them in, while freelancing is likely at a disadvantage.
@WoomyNNYes That wouldn't surprise me, not would there being less casual players playing which could bump up the average a bit. I'm expecting it to probably be higher than last time but I could also be completely wrong. The map is also a factor obviously but both have seemed pretty good to Salmon Run on.
I haven't really been feeling in the mood for Splatoon lately so I only played a few hours earlier this time, compared to last time when I played for most of the weekend. Ended up with a high score of 143 which may or may not be top 5% but I don't really care about the locker decoration anyway so not too fussed if it's top 20% instead.
@BenAV Yeah, I don't care if I never hit the top three, plus green's my favorite color so it's a win-win for me. Although I wish it was smaller for the locker.
