If you like both Salmon Run & Tableturf, you can change between the two much quicker since the walk is so short.
The downside of playing Tableturf lately, is it doesn't progress the catalog. The Undulator emote is the emote I want to get, and I'm not making any progress toward it because of Tableturf. (I'm grinding Tableturf to level 30 because I want the Card Shark emote. Currently level tableturf level 22.)
@GreenTea Yeah, Tableturf level 30 rewards the Card Shark emote. That's the only way to get that emote. It looks like someone taking a kungfu stance. At least, that's how I'd describe it. It's nothing crazy, but I kinda like it because I think a lot of emotes are a bit over the top.
@Snatcher You landed the Dab emote (aka Double Cross?) from the shellout machine? Nice work!
Tableturf has a few rewards. It has three banners, and the Card Shark emote. Banner 1 was level 10. Banner 2 was level 25. Although, I don't think the first two banners are anything people yearn for. They're fine? The third banner is like level 50. I don't have plans to play much past level 30. (If you search tableturf rewards, you'll find some sites that show the rewards - possibly a splatoon wiki site.)
edit: You can see the banners on this page: https://game8.co/games/Splatoon-3/archives/390066
How long to get to level 30 in tableturf? Good question. I finally started getting the hang of tableturf about a week ago. I've gotten to level 26 in about a week. I think I leveled up 4 levels today. Tableturf is about all I played.
I struggled to understand the game until StarPoint gave me some tips. Then youtuber cryptidcultist's tutorials got me over the hump with understanding how to build a deck and how to play. Anyway, I recommend youtuber cryptidcultist's table turf tutorials: how to win, how to build a deck, how to level up. Crypitidcultist is an amusing girl and she explains things really well. And now I think tableturf is fun. I've been enjoying it.
**Note: One thing that annoyed and confused me, the AI can do something you can't. AI plays their card right after you. And AI can cover your ink without a special weapon. I thought it was BS, because I can't cover AI ink without a special weapon. But it's how the game works.
**Plus: I learned from cryptidcultist that we don't always have to fit our ink pieces together like Tetris.
Well, I managed to beat the first Horrorboros I fought! It’s a fun boss, and since it’s so huge it’s pretty easy to hit. So far my high score has been 123 eggs, but I’m hoping to get a bit higher than that.

WOW. Has everyone visited Inkopolis since big run started??? Its different! There's some weird siren whirring sound that's creepy AF. IT'S SICK!!!! Why doesn't Splatsville have the same sound? Splatsville is lame in comparison. There's also occasionally a distant roar at Inkopolis, which I haven't heard before. This is so awesome. I haven't even played yet. 🤣
EDIT: Ok, now I've played big run. Oof. There was virtually always newbs on the team. I played 20 jobs, and failed a lot. At this rate, I'm worried I'll never get a decent haul of eggs for a good high score. One freak job got above a hundred eggs with a total of 117, but that's still thrid place bronze reward. ☹ That's what I got last time.😠 ......I got Horrorboros 3-4 times, but never took out more than half of horrorboros' health.
Is it me, or do things seem a big janky with Art Academy for big run? The camera, the tricky raised wall - I failed to get up that so often, it felt broken.
Just curious - I have a question to those who have the Splatoon 3 DLC. If you're in Inkopolis and you start matches in its lobby, does it play Splatoon 1 music while you're in Turf War matches? Or is it just the regular S3 music?

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️

That kind of makes sense location-wise. Inkblot is (I think) pretty close to the centre of Inkopolis, so the hub wouldn't be far away from the action (unlike Splatsville).
Wow, Salmon Run prices are steep. I only just bought my 5th item from the shop (have 2 banners, 2 stickers and green slopsuit) which unlocked the next batch of items and Blue is 30 silver scales.
@Grumblevolcano Upon spending a cerain amount, the Salmon Run shop unlocks to it's second tier, which so far, seems to be the full size of the Salmon Run store. Yeah there are some items with crazy high prices using the more rarely rewarded gold and silver scales. It's clear Nintendo has planned for the very-long-term. People will be unlocking those things after the next gen nintendo console releases. Or, even though I play a lot, I'll probably still never grind enough to buy those things.
What are everybody''s highest egg total so far in big run?
Mine is 117. Low confidence I'll get better. Today, Im about the only person with salmon run banner & badges. Its rare i get matched with other SR veterans. My current best badges are the silver ones for 1000 kills for maws, steelhead, fry fish.
@Dev9417 Ah, OK. Thanks for filling me in, and agreed for sure. Inkopolis also looks like a nice throwback, but I kind of wish they had it as a free update instead.

AHHHHH. I'v'e lost first wave three five times in a row quite spectacularly. So long EVP 120. My kingdom for a solid SR team! Am I the only fool in eastern US playing solo queue? Are all experienced players playing in pools now??
I sit here waiting with a room created, and my two switch friends will never notice because they haven't looked, and because the game doesn't ping your friends when you've created a room. Once you create a room, you can't see your friend's status to see if they're even still playing. So, you wait blindly. Seems like bad design to me. What is the point of this room system in SR?
Keep in mind, though, I rarely add switch friends precisely because this sort of thing never works (for me anyway). And 99% of the time anyone here want's to play, it's never when I'm playing. Granted, I'll take the blame for playing at erratic times. Seems like I'm not in the mood to play when others are.
@WoomyNNYes
Try joining the HazCo pool. You can join other people that are somewhat decent. Or open up a lobby yourself and ppl are joining your lobby.
I'm at 134 highscore. Like last Big Run. Probably won't be top 5% with this score again.
Btw. If you want to beat Horroboros, focus on his bomb in his mouth. If it blows up, it deals massive damage!
@WoomyNNYes I'm at a 144 highscore! Got lucky enough to be matched with two white slopsuit wearing japanese (?) players who were very effective. It was so cool!
Last time I was at 129 highscore, I was not anticipating these results😭, so hopefully now I'll get in the 5%
