Topic: Splatoon 3

@JadeKitsune It’s only going to go into effect next season which is later today.

The changes they made to some of the stages had me lost for a moment. On a few levels I play on pure muscle memory from spawning until I get into the mix so even though they have made tiny changes it had me froze for a sec as I didn't know what was going on. lol

Fred crumbs is scary.

I don't like how Kraken no longer has the barrel roll attack, it feels too slow attacking now.

There's a new gold banner at Grizzco for 333 gold scales. That's insane! But the others you can buy for bronze are nice.
Glad I didn't buy the regular black slop suit. The new Splat2 black suit is miles better. It's a real black, not a dark blue!

Just checked my Shell-Out Machine seed and it's all trash again as usual. Guess there's always Splatfest otherwise no special title/banner again for me this season.

The Super Chump special is a lot of fun in Turf War. My entire team had them. We all used the special almost at the same time. The entire first section after the enemy's spawn was covert of Super Chumps. 😂

What's this month's new Salmon Run gear reward going to be?

Wait! Is there a new piece of gear this month!?? Or are they repeating?

Um'ami Ruins has been a pretty fun stage so far. People were kinda worried that it was gonna have some pretty tough chokepoints, but it's actually probably one of the most open-ended maps in the game right now. I've only played a few Turf Wars on it so far, so I'll have to see if my opinion changes later on. But so far it's been a pretty fun map.

New Salmon Run gear reward, "Astro wear". And it's not a hat this time!! It became available three hours ago.

Btw. If you get a gold scale, it's shiny and sparkling now. Nice new added detail.

Tinkered around with all the new additions over the course of the last few days and I've got some thoughts!

• Inkopolis is a very cool hub that, while it doesn't really have much exclusive compared to Splatsville, is still an extremely nice nostalgia trip filled with great music, cool characters and a boatload of charm. I'll probably still stick to Splatsville as I prefer the scale and architecture comparatively but I can definitely see myself constantly coming back here and you better BELIEVE I'll be rocking out in the crowd come the next Splatfest!
• The new weapons are very cool. While I lament the fact that we somehow got MORE shooters than the last time (seriously: HOW), the weapons themselves are very fun to use with personal shoutouts to Tri-Slosher Nouveau and L-3 Nozzlenose D in particular, those ones are super fun!
• The new specials are weird, probably unbalanced....and extremely fun to both fight with and against. Kraken could probably do with some tuning (the way it's able to blitz through specials like Booyah Bomb and easily contest the Tower in TC is a bit much) but the joyful panic instilled by carefully dodging their attacks, stalling until the special runs out to OHKO them in return? Oh it is HEAVENLY I tell you. Super Chump is also a fun special to pop in advantageous positions that works well on the two weapons it's currently on (N-Zap especially), even if the damage and ease of which the bombs get destroyed makes it pretty underpowered currently imo.
• The new stages are decently fun, though they'll certainly take some getting used to. Manta Maria was one of my personal favourites from 2 and once again it works pretty flawlessly in 3 with fun areas to creep in on thanks to the walls and center pole. Um'ami Ruins (despite having a name that I still have no clue how to properly pronounce) is also a neat stage that, while it still suffers a bit from the Tetris-block design of most of 3's brand new stages, has a lot more unique about it to compensate like the wide spawns, perch points for sniping/movement and fight pits next to said spawn. Definitely two appreciated additions that I could definitely see growing on me in the coming months.
• The new Salmon Run content won't be fully felt until Big Run rolls around this weekend but I love that they brought back a ton of old gear from 2....and hate how expensive they all are (EIGHT GODDAMN HUNDRED BRONZE SCALES FOR MY BELOVED DUSTBLOCKER?! OH COME THE F*** ON).

Overall, Fresh Season's brought about a ton of really cool improvements/additions to 3 and has genuinely brought me all the way back to being addicted after hitting a bit of a low point come the end of last season. Can't wait for Big Run this weekend and the eventual first Splatfest in Inkopolis!
