I'm not sure I'm feeling the new rubber work suits for SR.

The main thing I want from Splatoon 2 is the Eye of Justice helmet. But I'm guessing it won't come, or won't come until after Side Order.

Horrorboros...
Nintendo seems to be really keen on adding the Ouroboros theme in every game they can.
Xenoblade 3, TotK and now Splatoon 3.
Can't wait! His introduction will probably be more creepy than Chohozuna's roaring. 😁

Who at Nintendo looked at Splash-o-Matic, the clear uncontested best and most overpowered weapon in the game, and said 'you know what we need to do in order to rain it in?'

'Make the counter the exact same weapon'

So do we think that we might get the Fresh Season trailer today? March 1 is a week away at this point; I feel like it would make sense.

@StarPoint
I don't think we're getting a trailer this time around. Usually, they show a trailer and then post every detail about it on Twitter. But we already got that. Maybe a trailer for Salmon Run. A closer look at Horrorboros and Big Run? I'm hoping for a new SR map. I hope there's a new one this season. But it doesn't look like it. Maybe in a trailer.

@Budda Yeah the way they're going about it is really confusing. I thought the trailer thing was gonna be a part of every season, but at this point, they've almost shown off everything that was in that initial poster. So I have no idea what their plan is anymore. Guess we'll find out within the next 7 days lol

I’m still hoping for online tableturf and league battle coming in this update, but it seems unlikely with 2 or 3 more days of announcements. More likely is the salmon run map tommorow and jukebox the day after.

hello

Budda
It's Google translate but, it seems like you're only able to play with friends. That's a bummer.

This sounds like it costs 100 coins per song play with the jukebox. WHAT!??? Am I misunderstanding? It's a small price to pay, but this sounds ridiculous.

@WoomyNNYes That is a strange choice. I mean, 100 coins are basically nothing thanks to how many coins you get per match, but I have to question what the point of paying even is.

@Budda That's disappointing. You'll still be able to join people with room codes, but I think it's really weird that there's no matchmaking. At least as far as we know.

You can use it at least 8 times for just losing 1 Turf War battle. And, I guess so, if you don't leave the lobby and don't close the game, you can keep the one song as long as you like. I know many Jukeboxes in rl, that have cost 1$(we have coins for that in my currency) in the past. So I guess in Yen 100 coins. It just mimics that.

Talking about cost. I don't get why many people complain about the Grizzco gear costing 100 bronze scales. Like, seeiously? At least they don't cost 30 silver scales or something. Bronz is a guarantee to get from a King Salmonid.

WoomyNNYes

@Budda Well, I mean compared to Splatoon 2, where you just unlock the song and then you can play it whenever you want.

Grizzco bear? You mean one of those ugly green statues? Yeah, I mostly only spent the bronze scales just to rank up the grizzco store to unlock the second tier rewards. I agree with you. I'm sitting on 300 unspent bronze scales, waiting for the new fresh season content. Although, I'm not sure there's going to be much I want.

I just realized. The new gear coming to SR store, is that to actually wear in Salmon Run, or are these just props for lockers only? The dumb green statues are under the Decorations tab, but I'm not confident the new Gear is for actually using in SR. I guess we'll see. Forgive my skepticism. I'm just surprised if they're actually adding customizable gear to SR.

No. They're Splatoon 2 Grizzco gear that get added this Fresh Season. You can buy them for 100 bronze each.

Edit: They are for multiplayer. Like the night-vision goggles you get right now

Still trying to learn about builds.
This is the weapon I am using https://sendou.ink/builds/tentatek-splattershot
So far I've been trying to farm ink reduce abilities and sub weapon boost because I figured it'd be good for me. What makes other abilites better than that? I mean how is this calculated... sort of. If that makes sense

Takomaki

WoomyNNYes

@Takomaki A the main ability of a piece of gear = 1. Each of the three sub ability slots = 0.3. So, if all three slots are the same ability, you'll have 0.9.

The choice of abilities depends on what you want & how you want to play. In the game, when selecting which gear you want to wear, you can press the left trigger, and it will give you a description of what the ability does.

For the Tentatek Splattershot, and a few other weapons, I prioritize Ins Saver Sub, because I use the splatbomb often. I usually use 2-3 sub slots of Ink Recovery Up to recharge ink quicker after using the sub weapon. Sometimes I like having some Swim Speed, or sometimes I like a few Special Charge Up to charge the Special Weapon faster.

If you have questions about certain abilities, just ask. There are usually some youtubers that have videos demonstrating the effectiveness particular abilities, showing how much one main ability. I used to watch ThatSRB2Dude for that stuff back during Splatoon 2, but I don't know if he's covered them since Splatoon 3. Although, most abilities are about the same in Splatoon 3 (unless someone here wants to correct me).

Here's a build I run often. But it's personal preference. Sometimes I will run most all Ink Saver Sub, if that's all I care about. But there are plenty of people who never run Ink Saver Sub. You can see other people's gear abilites if you open battle history in Splatnet 3 on the NSO app.
Untitled

If I use a weapon and don't plan to use the sub weapon, I'll usually add more Swim Speed Up, or a bit more Ink Recovery Up.

You'll also notice some people will commonly run a single sub ability of Quick Super Jump. The one sub of Quick Super Jump makes your super jump more instantaneous, if you need to exit at sticky situation.
