Topic: Splatoon 3

Got this in the mail today. Came in a big box filled with layers of bubble wrap which seems like overkill for one little keychain but oh well.

I did it!! Another salmon run session without getting brain strainer w Ink Saver Sub! Its amazing......ly awful. I can't belive this.

Splatoon 3's "In-Game Purchases": Where, or what, are they? I'm still nervous.

Splatoon 3's eshop page says "in-game purchases", which had me worried before the game's release. But now that the game's been out for two months, I'm wondering what "in-game purchases" means. Is there some kind of paid customization feature coming to Splatoon 3 we haven't seen yet? Could this term just be new legal wording encompassing amiibo dlc? Splatoon 2 had amiibo dlc, but it's eshop page does not say "in-game purchases".

Or, does "in-game purchases" refer to the shellout machine, which uses virtual currency eared in the game, not actual money?

@WoomyNNYes Given it's not currently present on the eshop page on the Switch itself, it's likely about the Pearl and Marina DLC expansion.

@BenAV I had 2 wins 2 losses. I got a comm error just as the match ended, one which I had won

@TheEnglishOtter Unfortunate timing but it would have still counted as a loss so you just went 2-3 for the series instead of 3-2.

Super glad to have the dab in time for Splatfest (I will absolutely be using it as my emote of choice). Going to try and get the last two levels before Saturday so that I can go absolutely ham on the Conch Shells!

@Nanami_Ataraxi The Ninjala collab was nightmare fuel but I'd be down with some nice Miku gear in Splatoon.

I do agree there, I didn't play it cause I'm terrible at the game and hate microtransactions, but I saw it pass me by.
I mean the options would be endless in terms of clothing
I think they could easily squidify her as well in terms of music, I don't think vocaloid and inkling songs are that different to the untrained ear.

@Fizza I inked everything, completed all kettles, even the secret Alter Alterna kettle, but if I looked at the island maps, there were were a few green areas of interest highlighted, in which I had to walk around and use smallfrye to uncover things hidden in the snow - they weren't anything significant, sometimes just eggs or another locker decoration. Then after that, I went to the helicopter landing pad, and used the drone, but I don't recall what it yielded for me. I have, like, 30,000 eggs just wasting away in single player. I didn't know the drone was a once-a-day thing. I guess I could finally use up those unspent eggs. Although, Im not sure I care enough to use the drone once a day.

@Fizza I had absolutely no idea about that drone! Like how has nobody seemed to mention this before?? That'll just be one more thing to check up on daily

@Fizza I didn't know it was I thing until a good buddy of mine just randomly mentioned it while we were playing the game. After getting it though, I don't think that it is worth the effort as more often than not I get duplicates of story mode items that are not the easter island head.

I love how pretty the ink is during Splatfest!

Got in about 15 matches there to start the day. I proceeded to lose 3 10X matches in a row and only win 3 matches total. Someone end my suffering.

@Fizza I think all the casuals are on the Water bandwagon this time around. I've only played a bit so far but I'm 1-3 against team Fire and 10-1 against Water.

In all seriousness though, it definitely feels like we've been dealt the short straw. I was playing against Team Fire in one of my matches and someone brought a goddamn SPLATTERSCOPE to Turf War and started utterly annihilating us (with 3 Subs of Ink Saver Main to boot!).

I've been playing all my matches in Open so far though so maybe if I switch to Pro it'll feel a bit more fair? Maybe? Hopefully? ....please?
