If we're talking about our favourite starters, I may as well throw my opinions in here as well.

I couldn't decide between Totodile and Cyndaquil OK, I hold too much emotional attachment to the both of them.

I've been waiting to see how they would phrase the question before deciding which one to pick. Fuecoco is my favourite Paldean starter (and the one I will absolutely be picking come Scarlet's release), but in terms of starter types, Water easily takes the cake. And now that I know the phrasing of the question at hand?

Quaxly may be my least favourite out of Paldea's trio, but god every single other one is an absolute banger. Easiest choice of my goddamn life.

Also, something that I couldn't believe I was seeing as I was watching the in-game announcement:

OHHHHHHHHHHH THEY WERE ROOMMATES BABY

How did you get that they were roommates? From the context of the situation I assumed it didn’t mean anything to that degree.

Clash Blaster definitely needs a big nerf in the next patch, that weapon is pretty much instant win type overpowered.

@Grumblevolcano It can be a bit annoying to deal with (I'm an Inkbrush user so life is pain trying to sneak close enough) but it's not really all that great. I don't see many of them around in S+ Anarchy.

@Grumblevolcano I'm getting a major sense of deja vu reading this....

Being completely honest, Clash Blaster being 'overpowered' is moreso just because it's basically built to be as annoying as possible to fight against: ridiculously fast fire rate, tactile feeling damage and annoying tricks like Splat Bomb + Zooka. In reality though....it's got a lot more flaws than a lot of people realise. Pitiful range, weak damage output even with directs and the inability to paint the floor well combine to make it more of a beginner's trap above all else.

That isn't to say it's bad though and I like dabbling in it occasionally myself depending on Anarchy rotations. It's certainly a weapon that can be nightmare one minute and complete dead weight the next.

@BenAV @Fizza I've been seeing it a lot in the A+ -> S rank up battles, at each attempt there'd be a Clash Blaster user on the other team and they completely destroy the team I'm on. The closest I got to ranking up was 2 - 3 on Splat Zones, started with 2 easy wins on Scorch Gorge and then lost 3 matches on Undertow Spillway due to the other teams having Clash Blasters. My main is Dark Tetra Dualies by the way.

Fizza

@Grumblevolcano Oof yeah, Clash can be a nightmare for something as short-ranged as Tetras. I suppose it depends on your weapon of choice when it comes to facing off against certain weapons in online battles. My main ones so far in 3 have been Sloshing Machine and Blaster so Clash is basically a fly on the wall most of the time for me with the range those weapons provide, though they can definitely still cause problems thanks to their speed compared to my comparatively molasses main weapons.

I think when it comes to me, it's not necessarily about power when it comes to the weapons I hate, it's moreso about the frequency of which they appear. It feels like I can't go 2 games without seeing Splattershot, Splat Roller or Reef-Lux recently and it does genuinely make me want to rip my hair out whenever I see those Tri-Zookas and Tenta Missiles fly across the map in my general direction.

Played Salmon Run most of the weekend, still haven't gotten a Brain Strainer with Ink Saver Sub ability. Although, on a positive note, I beat Cohozuna twice this weekend, although, the payoff wasn't great. I only get a silver scale about once every 3-4 cohozunas, surprised how scarce they are. It keeps getting too tough, so I've demoted myself from eggsecutive once, and from and pro 3 at least two times this weekend.

@Fizza I think that's at least partially a result of the change to levelling up and purchasing weapons. With Splatoon 1 and 2 you could stockpile a load of cash then buy weapons at any point after unlocking but with Splatoon 3 you have to be very careful of how you use Sheldon licenses as they're limited to obtaining 1 per level and there's more than 30 purchasable weapons. Levelling up also seems slower than previous games, especially if you're not using the XP snacks.

Grumblevolcano

Fizza

@Grumblevolcano You've just reminded me there actually: do EXP Snacks count towards levelling the catalogue up as well? I'm 6 levels away from the glorious dab and really want to try and speed up the process now that I can use conch shells as well.

@Fizza Only six catalog levels away from the Dab, ay? Nice. If you play a little each day, you'll probably have the dab within a week, or less.

@WoomyNNYes In Eggsecutive VP I'd say that I get at least one silver scale a majority of the time, sometimes as many as four. Gold scales on the other hand, I can go weeks without seeing one.

Double Splatling Hell in Salmon Run at the moment. Had two Rush waves in one run to add insult to injury.

Not sure if this video has been posted here yet, but I thought it was really helpful for grinding out my catalog level. Salmon Run is the worst method, Anarchy is the second best, and Turf War is the best.

Might be best to turn off Splatsville posts for the Splatfest (as much as it pains me).
