Just finished playing all the levels in single player with every weapon. It took a while but I'm happy I did it. It's not really worth it if you're looking for a reward, but it was a good way to learn how to use the weapons and understand their weaknesses (it's the reason I've been able to use charger online). Only real disappointing thing is that the game doesn't really acknowledge it as there's no new dialogue or anything. Still though, I now have a ton of tickets, 33 of 50% battle cash increase and 32 of 50% experience gain and they're gonna be super helpful in leveling up and gaining cash.

The brush is pretty good in Salmon Run from what I remember. It's great mobility is huge and when it comes down to it can be crucial. It's like the Knight of Salmon Run. If used properly, it's very hard for enemies to touch you. So whenever I was brush I'd try to always stay alive as being a brush it was very easy to outmaneuver Salmon and revive allies.
@Nintendoer Posting to FB or Twitter automatically sends it into Splatverse too. I suppose it's similar to the original game, but with Miiverse replaced with more mainstream social networking alternatives.
That cliff-hanging moment when it's down to the wire, your rank meter is almost full (or almost OK), yet also almost broken, and one match will determine a critical rank change. Then the maps get updated...
@Nicolai Yeah, it's intense; once step away from victory; one step away from failure. And then several hours away from either as you have to wait for the modes to rotate. I like the new Ranked system though. It feels like more's on the line, rather than just an ongoing tug-of-war.
@meleebrawler I don't know. At least what's presented in-game of Pearl and Marina seems thin at best, and their dialogue seems even more stilted than Callie & Marie. I've seen the same few comments almost every rotation versus a more fleshed out pool of comments for C&M, and their Splatfest dialogs read like they were ACTUALLY written for Callie & Marie, and just pasted the text over the new characters. In even recycles "bada bada bada". I wouldn't mind if they were truly unique characters but I feel like the dialogue was written for C&M before they decided to change the characters up and what we end up with is C&M's personalities glued to new models.
Pearl is the more interesting personality of the two, but it seems thin. Marina is somewhat flat with moments of brilliance, mostly during splatfest. Their MUSIC is excellent though Which sounds so weird.
The whole Octoling thing....I'm hoping they do something with that someday, because right now it goes nowhere. There's an Octoling in Inkopolis and nobody seems to care, or notice, and there's no explanation how that's even possible. It's as though it's just Marie there....as though P&M were just last minute drop-ins with little thought given to it.
I still hold out hope it means playable inklings vs octolings in some future DLC
@Luna_110: I dreaded the eel until I realized the advice Grizz gave us was rubbish. Throwing a bomb at it's assumed re-surfacing location does not work for me. Standing just outside of its kill zone and shooting it during re-surfacing with my main works FAR better. It usually dies the second time it resurfaces with this method.
@NEStalgia Callie & Marie didn't have much variety in their dialogue either until updates introduced a few more quotes for existing stages on top of new ones. I suppose that at a very basic level, Pearl & Marina are very similar to their predecessors but with some characteristics shuffled a bit. Pearl has the energy of Callie mixed with Marie's ego, whereas Marina has the latter's snark and the former's bubbliness. But if we wanted to see more of them, chances are the Squid Sisters would have truly been tossed to the wind to put these two up front in single-player. It's a compromise we'll have to accept until Splatoon 3. Besides, Pearl is clearly too young and inexperienced for black ops, given Marina's comments on her battling. Marie said a lot of things about Callie, but I'm pretty sure she never dissed her battling.
Have you not noticed how the Squidbeak Splatoon does their damnednest to keep any detail of present Octarian conflict secret? Barely anyone remembers the Great Turf War, and even then the Inklings in general are presented as really laid-back (they were disadvantaged early on in the war due to sleeping in), and plenty of other species live with them just fine, so with all that, why should an Octoling be treated any different?
@bluedogrulez The Maws bomb-trick is really easy to pull of with good timing. Only in extremely hectic situations would I recommend forgoing that in favor of shooting.
@NEStalgia This is understandable. At least Twitter allows you to create an anonymous account. Facebook is full-on creeptastic. I don't think I've ever linked anything to my Facebook account.
@-Green- I had trouble with the octobrush, mostly cuz I found my ink tank drain much faster than any other weapon when facing hordes. The fact that they're one of the weapons that can't reach a Steelhead's head isn't a plus, either.
@NEStalgia Yea! Awesome. What is your username? I'd love to add you to my friend list. You can email it to [email protected] if you don't want to make it public.
