Man, I feel so behind on this game. I'm only just recently lvl 10 so I haven't played in any ranked matches. I don't get to play every day but I have managed to beat the story mode with the splattershot to have it unlocked for online.
I can't really get in a groove with any of the weapons right now other than the heavy splattling for TW, though my favorite weapon to play with so far is the carbon roller. Throwing autobombs behind the enemy to force them to get closer to me is a lot of fun!
Haven't had as much time as I've wanted on this game but finally got all 3 ranked modes to B-. So far so good as I'm trying a variety of weapons this go around.
Having just as much fun as last time but I want to play with you guys here more if time is on my side. Kids being home all day really kills most of my gaming but with the handheld part I just got in about 1.5 hours of gaming.

@NightMoon Anyone's welcome to join just for being a part of the site. Just add NL to the front of your user name.
My name is maxed on characters so if I do add it I need to chance my whole name and I hate doing that. If I had an L in my name I could just capitalize both but I don't.

Splatoon 2 is pretty much a perfect portable game if you're somewhere with decent wifi. I played a couple of matches the other day while preparing dinner. It was awesome!
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition
@BLP_Software Culture shock is the right word. I mean, it's probably not the right word in that I've got no idea what the culture in question is, but it feels like the right word. Or two words. Whatever. I still just that 'Woah!' feeling when I suddenly realise I'm playing the same game, on a tiny system in my hands. It's like the shattering of then suspension of disbelief. AKA belief. But very abruptly. I reckon there's a lot in common between that feeling and the actual phenomenon of culture shock.
Anyway, I'm probably gonna have to count myself out of any matches for the next two weeks, though it pains me to say it. I've got to super-duper-koopa-cram for my upcoming 'zams. I'll be super-mega up for it after though. I really enjoyed the brief stint we had.
I recommend just a slight alteration to the name. @Nintendoer NL Ninten @Spanjard NL SpanJ @NightMoon NL Moon
I was thinking of [NL]Nico to go along with Shani's brackets.
It's all temporary, anyway; I assume one can just change it back whenever they want, whenever the clan thing stops being cool?
So Nintendo Life's own Alex Olney opened a can of worms with his video on the virtues of motion controls recently, and it's got me thinking; given the usage of motion controls what sensitivity settings do people use, especially at the top of the game? I'm not going to argue with any of the arguments put forward in the video, as I've been a staunch motion-control user since the original (despite taking a bit of time to acclimatise to them). However, I've been thinking about changing up the settings recently, and I'm wondering what the arguments are for different sensitivity options. I'm sure the ultimate answer is just 'personal preference', but I wonder if there isn't more to be said than that.
Previously, I had +1 set to both motion and sticks, with the logic that I should boost the motion control sensitivity so I could perform quick manoeuvres without having to swing the controller around wildly. However, recently I've turned the stick sensitivity up, and the motion down, with the logic that I can use the sticks for large movements, but for fine-tuned motion aiming, I don't want things to be oversensitive.
So what settings does everyone else run? And does anyone know if there are any trends in sensitivity settings amounts the elite players, or does it depend almost entirely on the individual?
@Maxz I generally opt for slow motion and quick sticks, using motion for fine movement and sticks for quick turns (and calibration with Y for quicker turns). Let me see.. I play handheld mode consistently and currently Motion is -2 and Sticks is 1.
I'm still trying to calibrate both sticks and motion to fit my game style, currently I have both on +1 but most likely I'll turn motion down since a little move of the controllers means my aiming goes way off.
I'm still playing on standard settings.
To me it makes sense to first play a lot before I change anything. So I don't change it based on theory but on experience.
I set them up once but forgot what the settings were. I did try some changes but figured I need the legs playing a bit too.
I must confess I do most of my aiming with the sticks and only small corrections with the movement. At least, that's how I became quick enough to actually hit other people...
Anyone out there that thinks they found the quickest accurate aiming control setup? I'm considering going extreme tilt settings on the motion.
@erv My preferred setup is now split joycons. Aiming with just my right hand instead of the entire controller is so much better and gives a wiimote+nunchuk feel.
The downside is that now handheld play feels very restrictive.
