Topic: Rune Factory 4?....AND 5?!?!?!

This opening is smooth. Love it.

I've really been enjoying my time with RF4. A little heavier on combat rather than the sim-life and sim-farming side of things. The polar opposite to games like Harvest Moon or Story of Seasons. I'm really looking forward to RF5 and what a slightly higher presentation budget will bring to the series.

There's real potential for it to land on a best-of-2021 list.

Not that I know much about Rune Factory, but this was such not the style I'd expect from this that I actually looked into the comments to see if someone would give away that this was a parody intro of some other thing. Nope, real thing, as far as I can tell anyway.

I wonder when we'll start hearing more about the localized version.

@kkslider5552000 Yeah, I was surprised too. The alternate opening is a bit more in line with what I'd expect stylistically, at least.

It's amazing that a Farming RPG has such a stylish intro.

Finally saw gameplay footage of Rune Factory 5 on Switch. Talk about rough, yikes. Very disheartening. Completely torpedoed my interest in the game.

It seems like they sort of wanted a "No loading screens" situation, so they sacrificed frame rate for it.

I've heard the same from the impressions I've read online, that the game is pretty fun but it has some major frame rate issues. Hopefully it gets patched a bit before the English release. Although for me I think I'd still be able to enjoy the game.

@Slowdive That gives me flashbacks to Bravely Second, where Japan got stuck with the inferior game as a result.

New E3 trailer, now has an early 2022 release window.

Boom! Same sex marriage is in for the West for RF5! Day one buy for me. I guess I should actually look at marriage candidates now. (This was not in the original release for Japan so there was some concern.)

Preorders opened up for the SE on AmazonNA, but considering how rough the game still looks after June's 1.0.4 patch I think I'll save my $80 for something else.

@Magician The game is on version 1.0.11 now, yeah? Have things gotten any better since June's patch? We still have a few months before it releases in the west so there's time for a couple more performance updates, but I'm not exactly putting all my hopes on it.

I'll still buy the game regardless. I was able to get enjoyment out of RiME on Switch before any of the performance patches, and I doubt this game will be nearly that bad.

Now that same gender marriage is an option, i'm super excited again. This will probably be my game of the year. I only played RF4 on the switch in the month leading up to animal crossing, but i was immediately hooked.

Who else on here PreOrdered Rune 5? And from which retailer?

Had a nice surprise today, got this delivered a day early.

Despite what I've heard about the framerate and overworld, I'm still excited to try this game out! It'll be tough to pull me away from Triangle Strategy though.

I wish they'd bring this to PS5 or something, so the game would at least run well.
