Topic: Rune Factory 4?....AND 5?!?!?!

What?! Rune factory 4 Special is happening? That was unexpected....wait, what?....RUNE FACTORY 5?!

And it still looks like a DS game

I have No interest at all with Rune Factory.
My Time at Portia, Re:Legend are better "Harvest Moon" games in my opinion.

@Delibheel I mean... it is a port, not a new game. We haven't seen what 5 looks like.

Well, they could’ve still done something with the models, and maybe they could’ve not killed the backgrounds with a Chrono Trigger filter.

Stream was low quality/blurry for me, so I dunno. It looked fine to me. Also, no trailer video was uploaded apparently. >_>

From what I could tell, the backgrounds looked all blown up and smoothed out.

You know, like most 2D pixel art games look when they're made "HD".

I'm excited for RF4 but I'm really really excited for RF5.

If there's a physical release for either I'm in.

Otherwise I'm just fine with Stardew Valley.

...Do people really not care about this series anymore? :/
No trailer uploaded, not even by GameXplain, and no article about it on Nintendo Life...

That's a long lost name that I didn't think it come about.

I had to google it because I had somehow never heard of this series. If it reviews well, I am very interested.

Yeah, sadly the series doesn't get the love it deserves. Honestly, I like Rune Factory more than Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley (I still like those games...don't murder me crazy Stawdew fans). I'll probably double-dip for RF4 if the price is right, but I'll DEFINITELY be getting RF5...easily the biggest (and most pleasant) reveal of the Direct. Astral Chain looks pretty cool too (love Platinum) but Rune Factory has a special place in my heart even Stardew Valley couldn't fill.

I mostly find the rune factory games to be very boring, but I know those who like them REALLY like them.

...But, it's like Stardew Valley and all those other harvesting games out there. lol
And yeah, Stardew Valley just doesn't do it for me. I think it's just the art style and character designs. I just like the more anime stuff, lol

You can like and dislike different games in the same genre.

okay, this is awesome, so glad to know that they making the 5.

Rune Factory 5 was easily the best reveal of the direct for me. Really didn't expect another title in the series considering the whole Neverland bankruptcy situation. I'm guessing the boost in popularity with the release of RF4 gave them hope for another game.

The numbered entries have improved with each one, so I hope 5 can keep that trend.

I must be missing out on a really good franchise. might have to pick up 1-3 before getting excited to try out 4 and 5.
i've seen the franchise on multiply sites. and it never click me. but maybe now it will

I would skip RF 1 & 2. Although I enjoyed both of them at the time, they are rough around the edges and have some problems that might turn you from the series. Play RF3 or just play RF4 first. You don't really need to play previous games to enjoy the later ones.
