I've never played a game in the series, so I'm still looking forward to this.

My copy just got delivered today, Canada Post messed up by a few days on this one. It seems to happen a lot with remasters/ports. My birthday is tomorrow too, so that was a really nice birthday surprise. Enjoying it a lot so far, first thing I've noticed is it's a lot faster to save the game. Excited to try out the newlywed mode, and it looks like there's also paid DLC side stories for each character.
@Cynas Tidy! I'm jealous. I'm importing a copy from the UK because it was like 20% cheaper. I'll get it a week late, but that's the price I pay for being cheap.

@Joeynator3000 I had the same dilemma, but I ended up going with a female this time to change things up. Although I do plan on unlocking all of the newlywed chapters so I'll have to play as both eventually.
The main downside to picking Frey, at least personally, is her voice. I find it way more annoying than Lest's voice, especially when swinging tools.
The other downside to picking Frey...I can't marry my girls, Amber and Xiao! >.< lol
Anyways yeah the voice acting never bugged me in the 3DS game, especially since some of my actresses are in this game. (Stephanie Sheh and Laura Bailey) I think you're able to mute the voices or turn them down if you want, though.

@Joeynator3000 Yeah that's the thing, I like all of the English voice actors besides Frey, but it's not possible to just mute her voice. I still want to hear the other voices.
Laura Bailey is one of my favourite voice actresses too, I married Dolce in my first playthrough because of that. I also really like Wendee Lee (Ventuswill), Benjamin Diskin (Kiel), and Matthew Mercer (Leon). I was sad when I found out they changed Vic as Vishnal's voice actor, but the new guy sounds pretty similar.
I know a lot of companies have been cutting ties with him, it's a big mess for sure. I want to believe the allegations are false, but I feel like there's probably at least some truth to them. Either way, I can't deny the fact that I like his past voice work.
On a whim I picked up Rune Factory 4 because so many people were saying it was so fun and comparing it to Stardew Valley, a game I've dumped hundreds of hours into.
And first impression: You guys were right! I'm hooked almost immediately. There's no hiding that it's just an upscaled port of a 3DS title, but the writing is funny and the gameplay seems addictive right out of the gate.
Though I admit to having been spoiled by Stardew Valley's handling of romance where anyone who is single is able to marry anyone else who is single, regardless of the chosen gender of the player or romantic interest. xD

Rune Factory 5 preorders went live in Japan. Looks like the various AmazonJP-exclusive bundles are dominating the Switch best seller list, the hype is real. The special edition looks similar to the one Rune Factory 4 received.

I finally fired up my copy of RF4S this past weekend.
I'd like to roll the credits before RF5 arrives presumably later this year, but we'll see.
