Topic: Problem with Jewels and Accessing Tarm Ruins LoZ Oracle of Seasons

I'm playing Oracle of Seasons through the Switch GameBoy Emulator.
I don't know what's going on. I retreived all 4 jewels: Square, Pyramid, Round and X and yet when I get to the ruins, the screen is squiggly and spits me out and says: "the power of darkness won't let you get any further".
What am I missing?
I've searched on various forums and I can't find anyone that has had this specific issue.

It’s saying “essence in the ruins”
I have all seasons and all jewels…

The old woman in the house north of the village is saying the ruins are Tarn ruins in the NW.

Do you have the treasure map and the power of all season spirits?

Did you have to use the gems to enter (set them in the wall)? Perhaps you could be confusing it with the ruins of the temple of seasons.
