I did not notice the cake picture for the first few cakes either....but they seemed to like what I did. Got most of the Shiny doohickeys for it. About 7/10 of them for that level.

I enjoyed the demo anyway. It is easy, but I can see some challenge elements to it. I liked how you didn't have to press the button every time to talk to people. It is simple, but just them having the text come up when you go near them was a nice touch.

I do struggle with how Peach cannot float jump! Found the physics a little off for that. I don't know why, but I guess it goes back to my first ever video game - Mario Bros 2. In my head she should be able to! Haha.

Negatives: Load times are slow and it is missing that extra special Nintendo magic sauce somewhere.
Voice acting seems like there should be a tiny bit more of it sometimes.

Positives: I quite like how it seems not too overwhelming. I can't do open world games or things with stupid amounts of things to find, they stress me out. This is more manageable. Probably not an instabuy, but going on my birthday list for April as a potential (I put a few down and my Mum chooses 2...as I can't!).

@Mana_Knight I feel like the ribbon-jump combo is quite a lot like Peach's floaty jump. Granted it only works without a costume, but I enjoy it. I wonder how much we will get to do in the game with just the ribbon.

@FishyS I would be happy to have more of the Ribbon gameplay. I liked that bit a lot!

Is it just me or does the music partly sounds like Luigi's Mansion 3? Generally the menu style and NPCs/enemies looks like from Good Feel, but the music and graphics feels like LM3.

Did anyone else have framerate issues? It stuttered a lot for me, especially in the cut scenes.

@ElRoberico I don't have a frame counter or anything, but it definitely felt like it ran below 30fps

@Andee There were like jumps between things moving. I think I'm going to wait for reviews at this point. I want to like it, but if it's not running well, I think I'll wait.

@ElRoberico Yeah, same — it's a game that seems perfectly pleasant, but I don't know if I'll be dropping £40 on it any time soon

@Budda I actually thought it was made by the same devs who made Luigi's Mansion 2 and 3, going by the graphical style. It does make perfect sense that Good-Feel's making the game though. They have made some... feel-good games, after all. Really liked Kirby's Epic Yarn and Yoshi's Woolly World.

Yeah, the demo was choppy as all heck. It seemed like it was really struggling to get through the loading screens, things seemed to drop into a single digit frame rate. The entire thing was rather...not great.

Uh how long did the demo take to download? Because mine currently says 23 hours remaining and isn’t even showing the cover

@MarioVillager92 That's why I hate that I didn't have the best time with it. I love GoodFeel's stuff. Wooley World is my favorite Wii U game (at least when it comes to games still on the system). Shoot, I even loved Crafted World.

@ElRoberico Ah... sorry to hear. I didn't have any issues during the actual gameplay, but yeah the framerate drops during the load times and cutscenes were noticeable. Hopefully it'll be fixed later on.

Phew, the demo gladly went from 24 hours to 10 minutes when I connected to my hotspot, so just an internet problem 😅
played it, the swordfighter gameplay is soooo satisfying and the cakes are fun. Not something I would pickup for $60 though

the cutscenes were definitely not super smooth but after the PowerPoint presentation cutscenes in Pokemon Violet practically anything seems fine in comparison. 😆 I didn't notice any issues at all in the actual gameplay.

Not a bad demo, probably wont pick it up until its on sale, the top of peaches hair is really flat and doesn't look right

I finally played the entire demo earlier and enjoyed it! It's a bit on the easy side, but I find this unsurprising due to the target audience and the assumption we're truly playing early game stages. I managed to get all the star collectibles, though the Patissiere stage did take a couple of tries once I figured out how to properly make the cookies (cakes went fine). I still suspect there will be additional challenges, probably in a side mode if not later in the main campaign. Sort of like the Kirby series.

I did notice some occasional frame chugging and long load times though. Nothing terrible or game-breaking at all, but still noticeable. I was playing the system docked.

All in all, this will be a pickup in the future, but not at full price. I'm still interested in seeing how this one reviews since reviewers get to sit with the whole game, not just a couple of stages.

@Tyranexx The demo's performance wasn't bad but it was choppier with the frame-rate a tad bit. But, like everyone said, nothing game-breaking or anything. I did enjoy the 1st stage though. the 2nd one..eh...not so much. But that's just me...I'm just picky as I don't know what honestly...

Just that it's not a game I'm gonna drop $50 for or pre-order instantly.

@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot I wasn't expecting to like the Patisserie stage much based on others' impressions, but I enjoyed it. The Swordfighter stage was my favorite though. Peach has some moves.

But yeah, not a game I'll get at launch. Probably a good holiday sale on a physical copy.
