Can't wait for this game... why are they making us wait another month. ๐
One thought about all the previews โ why is everyone complaining that the only controls are run, jump, and action/attack?? Isn't that like half of all games ever? That's one more button than Super Meat Boy has.
Gave the demo a try tonight. I like it. One level lets you play as Sword Fighter Peach, and the other is Patisserie Peach. The sword fighter level is similar to an action game, fighting enemies. The patisserie level felt like a mini-game. Both levels had some platforming, both styles has me excited for Peach's other gameplay style.
I enjoyed it. Anyone else tried the demo?
Personal note, I love the move is simply called "sparkle."

@Sunsy I loved it! I got all the 10 thingamabobs in level 1 first try but only 4/10 in the Pastry level. ๐ That level is hard! I love the default non-costume ribbon platformer physics and the sword was fun too. And all the adorable secrets. And the boss was actually fun! Imagine a fun boss in this day and age. And I liked the cake part even if I sucked at it. ๐
I suspect this game will be one I can't help but play 20 hours in a row and then finish and wish there was more but still adore.
I was day 1 on this game anyway but after the demo, yeah I am all in. This is so obviously a Good Feel game (and as both a good feel and goemon fan yep I am excited) and to me feels like they layered the yoshiโs crafted/wooly world onto the Takarazuka theme. It does have good feelโs framerate issues with switch but nothing life ruining. This is gonna be one of those games I explore all the nooks and crannies.

I'm not sure whether I like the swordfighter level or baker level more, but I'm very sure of this: That demo was certainly a lot of fun. What I'm still not sure of is whether the levels can be played in any order in the full game or if there's a certain order we have to go through. Based on the demo gameplay last night, it seems like there may be an order that we have to play the levels in, but I guess we'll know for sure once the full game comes out.

I was interested enough for day 1 before the demo dropped but the demo made me more excited for it. Both stages were a lot of fun (swordfighter was my favourite of the 2) and I got the impression from the demo that the game is more expansive than the trailers made it seem to be.
Load times seem rather long but not long enough to be annoying.
I have the demo downloaded but have yet to play it. About how long is it? I might fire it up after work, but I have no idea if I have enough time today.
@Sunsy I just finished playing the demo... I liked it quite a lot! I enjoyed both of the demo's levels, even with the pastry level being surprisingly challenging, lol. It's filled to the brim with charm, too. The framerate drops during cutscenes and load times are a bit noticeable, but the gameplay was still smooth. I'd love to preorder the full game as soon as I can... can't wait to play more of Peach's theater adventure.
@ElRoberico I checked my play time right after I closed the game, and that time it said I started playing it 41 minutes ago. So, the demo's about 40 minutes long.
@ElRoberico Pretty much, I felt like I played for a little less than an hour, so I'd say in between 30 minutes to an hour. I was also reading what characters were saying and watching the few cutscenes in it.
Thanks, hopefully, it won't be too long after launch. My birthday is in early April.
@MarioVillager92 Glad you like it. Yeah, the cake starting to move threw me off, I think I messed up one cake. Thankfully, I didn't need to be perfect as completing a circle made the cake's actual decoration just appear.

Played the demo and it seems like a mixed bag. Swordfighter Peach was really fun, I enjoyed tearing through the levels and enemies as Swordfighter. It's easy and simplistic, but still fun. Patisserie, on the other hand, is a glorified gimmicky minigame. Minimal action, mainly just doing quick, strictly timed decoration challenges. There's definite potential for a fun series here, but the execution might not quite be there with this game. The more like Swordfighter and the less like Patisserie, the better IMO.
@Bolt_Strike Of the 10 outfits we have seen, 7 of them seem more like action / platformer ones.
Pastry Chef is clearly pure mini game, though I enjoy what happens when you press the 'pose' button.
detective โ maybe pure exploration? Hard to tell.
water level โ swimming plus... rhythm mini game?
The first level was called sword-1 so presumably we are getting more sword levels. I don't think we really know what percentage of action versus mini game we are going to get yet, the demo just wanted to give us a taste of both.
@Sunsy The rotating cakes did throw me off as well! I also didn't notice that there's a picture of how the cake should be made until partway through. It's on the upper right corner of the screen. That'll come in handy for when I eventually play the full game.
