@Pizzamorg I feel like Pokemon games are always scored higher than they should be. Reviews are often very generous despite the games lacking 20 years behind in anything really.
It is funny, because in terms of recent games (excluding remakes), I only really have experience with Shield and Arceus. With Shield, that reviewed well, but I ended up missing out on it for years, as everyone on the internet told me it was terrible. By the time I finally played it, I actually really enjoyed that game, it is one of my favourite Switch games and I fall far closer to those original reviews than I do the internet revisionism.
On the other hand was Arceus, which also reviewed well, and this time the internet told me the reviews were right and that it was this grand evolution for the franchise, but then I really didn't enjoy Arceus at all and it felt like I again didn't agree with anybody.
I'm also more sensitive it seems to performance problems than the average Nintendo Life poster, so I guess I'll have to see how much the performance breaks me, as if the game beneath that is closer to Shield than it is to Arceus, that is good news to me, not bad.
Any news about the pokedexit? Are all pokemon available in these games?
I really don't want to buy another Pokemon game like Sword/Shield. The 3D element or even open world will not add much for me if it is barren. Arceus also felt barren and small and it was not fun to explore and discover like it has been in other AAA-open world games like Skyrim or BOTW. Both games running well on Switch and already dated.
About what I expected. Even TV commercial footage looked choppy. SuMo and SwSh were both fairly choppy in spots as well.
Remember when Legends: Arceus came out, featured way bigger environments than a normal Pokemon game, and still held a fairly consistent framerate? That was weird.
@Bankaj yes, they moved release date by a year, because of you xD. No, games released as planned, so main Pokédex of Paldea is 400 and total is 476. (just joking around while answering question) xD ;P
PS/Edit: I feel now Bankaj put me into he's ignore list.

I definitely like the limited rosters much more for the games. People constantly whine about wanting their s***mon in the games for online battles (like ANYONE would ever seriously want to use a Blitzle or its evolution...) but the smaller selection keeps things fresh and with Home I don't need to be able to catch caterpie for the millionth time in a game just for the sake of it.
It definitely stinks that we have some really obnoxious mainstays like Charizard for the umpteenth time WITHOUT the other two in the game whatsoever, but overall I had more fun with SwSh and PLA than with most of the games that had all Pokémon in them so that can't be such a massive deal breaker to one's enjoyment of these games, can it?
@Dom_31Hey man, I wanna use a Blitzle....
Completely agree with limited dex's though, I think they're utterly fantastic. Don't get me wrong: it'd definitely be nice to have every single one in one game but limited dex's allow me to get acquainted with mons I never really thought I'd use (with a good example of this being Medicham and Gyarados in BDSP: two mons I liked but never planned on using but after catching them early on, they were the key components of my B-team and now I absolutely adore them). I also vastly prefer limited dex VGC formats so this is fine by me
@Dom_31 I feel like typically nerdy things have kind of instilled this sense of having to trudge through the slog no matter the quality just so you are a part of the conversation or for cred. While Pokemon will always ultimately have the kid audience it's had since Day One, if older fans actually decided to not buy it, it would eat into sales.

@Dom_31 Well people should stop buying them but the draw of a cutesy dog fighting simulator beats a half baked game in a series that struggles to realise its full potential.
