I assume most people only ever buy one version per pair... And nowadays, if people care enough to trade-evolve their Pokémon or get version exclusives, trading online is quick and easy, so it's not like... An actual problem (the fact they sell two versions).
Or at least it's less of a hassle now than before.
@DarthNocturnal I hope we can get more Legends games in the future (Unova, Kalos, etc.) partly because they did away with trade evos entirely, having them all evolve behind a hard to find evolution item. It not only makes me actually want to use them for the first time ever (I had a Porygon Z on my main team which is something I never thought I'd ever be able to say) but it still feels fair locking it behind an item that you either have to farm merit points for or get very lucky in a Space-Time Distortion. We had almost every trade evo up to Gen 4 covered (with a few exceptions like Politoed and Slowking for example) and I hope they keep that trend going in a possible Legends Unova (especially when Gen 5 had some of the best trade evos in history).

I want legends to stay as a spinoff series, I just hope they don't get rid of it, I hope they make more games in legends style.
I'm fine with trading pokemon between versions, no problem, but what I do dislike is trade evo's, I don't really like how some of my favorite pokemon are locked behind trading, and it would be one thing if these evo's are far between, but no, its some of the most well known and basic pokemon that need you to trade!
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@DarthNocturnal I'm trying to be realistic (as depressing as that is). Any Pokemon game with two separate versions will almost surely have trade evos be.... well, trade evos. I would love to be proven wrong by SV but I'm not confident unfortunately.

I wonder if the bike in this game will be multi purpose, like floating on water and flying (maybe not that one). I think there is a very good chance of that, just begs the question of how you'd get the upgrades, maybe sidequests or money.
@Kermit1 I mean the Legendaries are/maybe partially based on motorbikes so bikes may be a big thing in the region this time round (the Pokemon Centers are filling stations for goodness sake!).

@Kermit1
I imagined Koraidon and Miraidon can transform into vehicles like Transformers style (Imagine Gestatl mode from FF XIII) and you can ride on them and Wheeeee... !
It might be a hot take but I'm really disappointed in what they have shown so far. I thought legends would drastically change the series for the better, but this just looks like they are going back to the traditional thing and not taking any cues/inspiration from legends.
@tamantayoshi I’m still looking forward to it but yeah I’m also disappointed by the lack of PLA’s systems making it. No real time catching was a hit to my enthusiasm since it improves the experience so much in PLA to have greater control in throwing the ball quickly without having to wait for the game to do it.

I would argue that online trading is more of a hassle nowadays because unlike Diamond/Pearl et al. from 15 years ago, online multiplayer wasn’t paywalled.
Nowadays, I pretty much need to have both versions to complete my Dex, though I gradually started buying both versions anyway. I never recommend others to do the same, but I’m in way too deep as a fan/collector (cough hoarder) to resist, and I don’t mind having a slightly different version for a subsequent playthrough. I only think that it’s monumentally stupid that digital buyers aren’t entitled to grab the alternate version for free or at a significantly reduced price, as there is virtually zero value in owning both digitally.
The new artstyle for characters has grown on me, the visuals are definitely improved compared to Game Freak's past HD games, and they're definitely pushing the series forward by expanding into open-world territory, so I'm definitely excited, but it is really disappointing to me that they're rolling back some of the great changes from Legends Arceus. The return to old animations and the significantly blander UI in particular bother me, though reverting to the typical capture mechanics definitely isn't as much of an issue, especially since the Pokedex is understandably back to normal.
