Ooh boy, we're back to the graphics again. I'll just chime in here to say how amazing the new forms/evos are so far in Legends. Each one is multi-layered as modern Pokemon get nowadays with each and every one of them having something interesting about them. Basculegion's metal as all hell design and lore, Zorua and Zoroark's immediately eye-catching design and typing, Growlithe's FLOOF and even Voltorb's unexpected adorableness. The only two that I think are a tad forgettable are Braviary and Kleavor and even then I still find things to like about them, like Braviary's brilliant re-contextualisation of it's original concept and Kleavor's unique take on a Scyther evolution (it has axes for arms. THAT'S RAD). I'm really excited to play through the game and see what else lies ahead in both the landscape and the creatures that inhabit it .

Unfortunately it doesn't. And that is the least i would expect as rise of a ninja is like a 2007 game which has better animations and the overworld is more detailed.
@Hylian1234 The game isn't even out, you haven't see all that it has to offer, hell you haven't even seen half of the over world, yet you compare it as if you've seen all its over'd.
And to be fair, the Switch is not like some high end device, it has its limits.
Smt isn't blurry at all. Idk what haterade is he on to defend the pathetic presentation on this game.
1) Animations aren't good period. Yes, they are a bit better than sword and shield: but theya re still bad.
This is noticeable by the pokemon randomly walking and turning around for no reason, the lughable attacks like bite, etc.
Character (not pokemon) animations are bad aswell.
2) i wonder if nintendo knows what a texture is. Most of their games have none and still struggle to hit 30fps at 720p.
The overworld texture is laughable.
3) The overworld is empty and it just has some patches of pokemon doing dumb moves. The final game will be like that.
The visual presentation is just bad here aswell.
4) Community uproar is why we get products like these where they start trying rather than copypasting the same game. If it was up to them, they would just make bad products like brilliant diamond all day every day as pokemon's biggest earnings come from merch. Last time i checked: cards were pretty close to VGs in terms of revenue share for pokemon.
Them trying doesn't mean we can't bash them. If they want games to be a bigger slice of the pie: they have to earn it.
Pokemon is the biggest IP ever. Is not a random small indie IP.
@Hylian1234 Shows a lot when you call Gamefreak "Nintendo". You don't even know who develops these games. Also, Pokemon is the biggest franchise, yes, but most of the money in that franchise goes to the anime and merch, not the games themselves.
SMT V is blurry, and it makes me wonder if you even played the game, or if you're just talking out of your ### just so that you can claim "Gamefreak bad, please upvote". I agree that the textures in the overworld aren't great, but the thing is, graphics aren't everything. If the game has good gameplay, who cares about the graphics themselves? As long as they aren't Eye bleeding bad, then they're fine. The pokemon models are totally brand new in this game, if you took the time to actually look. They're no longer using textures for the pokemon's eyes and mouths, with those being fully 3D modeled. The animations are also pretty good from what we've seen. There's only been a few trailer shots where the animations even look remotely questionable.
Also "I wonder if Nintendo knows what a texture is. Most of their games have none and still struggle to hit 30FPs at 720p". This quote is entirely untrue, and again shows your ignorance. Textures in a video game do not equate to framerate or resolution, and most Nintendo games have textures. If they didn't, everything would just be solid white. Most games on the Switch also have a pretty decent resolution, matching at least 720p, or higher. The only games that look even remotely fuzzy are SMT V and both of the Xenoblade games. Other than that, the games look pretty sharp on the system.
Criticism is important for things to get better, but outright bashing them and saying "LOL GRAPHICS BAD, IF YOU BUY THIS GAME THEN YOU'RE STUPID!" isn't criticism. It offers nothing of value other than ragging on the game itself, or ragging on the people who want to play the game. For the record as well, BDSP isn't made by Nintendo or Gamefreak, but was made by ILCA, a company who never made a video game on their own before, and quite literally made BDSP as their first ever game built in house. Most of the stuff they did prior was mostly marketing, helping out with making deals, and working on cutscenes. That's pretty much it. I'd say BDSP wasn't even a horrible product, but it's subjective. For a remake, it's fairly solid, and the only reason people hate it is because it doesn't do anything big like past remakes did, which is partially why Legends exists in the first place.
Oh, and for the record, I don't hate SMT V. I actually enjoy it. I can just see the flaws in the game, and it's presentation.
Now the marketing is starting to ramp up for this, I am getting both excited and scared. I am really hype for this and it is nice to be so hype for something so early in the calendar, which I just haven't been for the last couple of years. I really hope this is good but just have no idea what direction this is going to go.
Regardless of where this lands, critically, I think I'm going to give this a chance anyway. S/S reviewed well and sold gangbusters, but it was hard to find anyone online saying anything nice about it. When I finally properly sat down to play it distanced from the noise, I had probably the best experience I've had on my Switch but I missed out on that for years because of everyone telling me those games were garbage.
I dunno how much all the 30 something basement dwellers shouting about the edgelord Pokemon game that should be tailored specifically to them will affect/shift the conversation when the reviews come around but yeah, this is one of the few times where I'd say regardless of reviews good or bad, this is one to play for yourself if you're intrigued. 'Cause even if it reviews well, sells gangbusters, that won't stop the sweatlords crying on Reddit about it not living up to the game that they conjured in their head.
I've never been a fan of the you are wrong because you're clearly a puppet account argument. It works alot better when you're able to prove it but it it's comes off as dismissive without having to engage to what's being said and it's doesn't really change what is being said anyway, it's still just a user name of a person on the internet either way. #ARoseByAnyOtherName Tbh I can only remember most users on here by their avatar rather than by their name so what name is saying what does not mean alot to me and it's also a bugger when folk keep changing their avatars pics so I forget who they are.
In anycase I give the debating in here 4/10. There's not enough name calling and there's not been a clever use of a meme to prove a point yet.
@jump OMG you remember people off of profile pics too? I try to remember a lot of peoples names, but there is one user on here that I can't tell change there profile picture, or is a whole different person.
To be fair the account was made like 30 minutes so an hour ago when the argument started.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

Weirdly, this new deep dive has probably made me my most nervous. Given this is the showcase, the technical side looks very rough. I wouldn't say GameCube or whatever ***** or necessarily any worse than a bunch of similar Switch games, but yeah, if this is like the most polished version for the showcase I am kinda nervous.
Some of the environments look just awful (especially when you fly up in the air and there are basically no textures) and it all looks fairly jaggy. The animations they chose to showcase battles look slightly better than S/S I guess because of the perspective? But it is still quite static and there are lots of obvious smoke and mirrors to give the sense of motion, without really needing to animate it. The character creator also appears to remain super limited and basic.
And I dunno if I am even feeling the general structure/loop proposed here? Like it is very different to usual Pokemon games, some of the overworld stuff does seem really interesting like the super strong Pokemon, the stealth, the way in which Pokemon seemingly seamlessly integrate with the world, as does the strong/agile system but a lot of what it shows here look like basically MMO style fetch quests? Like they might be saving some more interesting stuff, but they didn't even like tease at anything else.
The only thing that really bugged me is that we still don't know if there's anything in terms of side features that are worth doing in this game. They used new shots, but it was still showing all the same things that we already pretty much know about.
Edit: The graphics don't look awful to me either, but the render distance isn't great. They really needed to learn from BotW and use techniques to mask render distance.
