So watching that 6 minute overview trailer they dropped, it does look like Legends won't follow the usual quest around the map fighting gym leaders formula but rather looks more like an old Monster Hunter game, with you heading out on missions from a base camp, with a village hub to use in between missions. I think that seems pretty cool, even if some of the attack animations in that trailer look kinda rough.
@Pizzamorg The only thing that really looks awful in terms of attack animations is the fact that one pokemon is biting with it's butt. Other than that, everything else looks leagues above Sword and Shield's animations.

I'm still not sure this game is looks better than Sword/Shield or worst. Because when you look at the trailer, there are some parts of the landscape and models that look good, and there are bad parts that look like the ps1 game. Does Sword/Shield look better because of the color palette it uses? I am gonna buy but they need to improve themselves in some areas. Switch deserves better than this.
@JokerCK Well, first off, this doesn't look like a ps1 game. Go look up what a ps1 game is and then look up what Legends looks like. They're not similar at all really. Secondly, it really does look better than Sword and Shield, given the pokemon have new models, and brand new animations.

Oh I know. Europe is the place to be for Pokémon preorder bonuses. I had to import the Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl steelbook from Europe because it wasn’t available in the US.
It used to not be this way. It used to be that BestBuy would have steelbooks for preorder bonuses. Not sure why that suddenly stopped.
But ya, that Pokeball, and that figure? Man… I got the Sword/Shield figure from Amazon UK when I imported a few years ago. It’s nice.

@JaxonH What's weird for me here in Ireland is that there doesn't seem to be a pre-order bonus for PLA in Smyths, even though A. they had one for BDSP and B. there was an Arceus statue akin to the Dialga and Palkia of the BDSP pre-order bonuses at the start but then it just magically vanished without a trace. I just pre-ordered it there the last day on Thursday but no mention of it ever came up. I got a Steelbook for pre-ordering Shield back in 2019 so it's very odd.

Guess they figured it would sell regardless, so why waste money. It used to be the preorder bonuses were to herd ppl toward certain retailers, but maybe it wasn't having the intended effect. Idk.
At least the steelbook was obtainable though. I love steelbooks.

@Snatcher Yeah, I don't get how this looks even remotely like a ps1 game. I get the ps3 complaints, since the game looks a step above something you'd find on the ps3, but that's still passible in my opinion, as long as the gameplay itself is great.

@Snatcher Yeah, if people are comparing this to a ps1 title, they don't actively know what games looked like on that console. How blocky the graphics were in most games, and how most games used hand-painted backgrounds, instead of just 3D backgrounds, aside from a few.

This game doesn't look remotely better than a bunch of ps3 games.
It certainly looks like a joke by the side of uncharted 3. If you want to directly compare genres: looks much worse than assasin's creed 2 (open world game), tales of vesperia or eternal sonata.
If you want to compare it to other anime like games with pseudo open worlds: it still lacks. That naruto 360 game looks better in comparison.
It resembles way more earth seeker on wii than something like eternal sonata. Is pathetic at this point. Yeah, ps1 is an over exageration, but the point is very valid.
