I kinda wished Hisuian Avalugg had more changes to it, but eh.

I agree, if it wasn't for the pattern of all Nobles having a Hisuian form I probably wouldn't have noticed it got a new form. But that's also mostly due Avalugg being a pretty forgettable pokemon to me.

@DomGC I just feel disappointed since they went, "hey, let's slap some weird metal on this thing's mouth and call it a day!", instead of actaually just making a cool design that isn't just the same as the original but skinnier and dirtier. Something like a gemstone would've been cool, seeing as Bergmite jumps out of those. I also feel a slight bit of disappointment that Goomy, Rufflet, and Bergmite don't get forms of their own.

I have a theory about PLA that I find very fascinating if true (not sure if anybody's talked about something like this already since I haven't clicked any spoilers): What if PLA is actually a prequel to Platinum and not DP?.
So, recap of the post game plot. Volo's main goal is to summon Arceus. He tries to get its attention by bringing Giratina to tear open the rifts and unleash chaos in the form of Origin Dialga/Palkia. But when that doesn't work, he resorts to the other avenue he researched: collecting the plates. After you've successfully collected all the plates and faced him atop Spear Pillar, in last-ditch desperation, he summons Giratina to take you down. When that falls through, he yields and gives you the final plate.
Now this is where the interesting thing comes in: you report back to Laventon about what happens and he most likely makes notes of it in his lab. Then (and this where the theory comes in), those notes are passed around for many years afterwards, naturally getting muddled from the original meaning. The new meaning could be that Giratina was the almighty one Volo was trying to summon instead of Arceus. Why do I bring this up? Because that's what Cyrus' main goal is in Platinum: trying to summon the one he believes will create a new world after reading about it when he was younger.
There are probably some major flaws with my logic here but that's what I've been thinking at least.

@VoidofLight I believe it's meant to be a snow plow for a mouth. That's why it has Strong Jaw now instead of Own Tempo. It could also be another Vanillish situation: a Pokemon with a striking resemblance to a real life, man made object that then inspires the Pokemon world to make said invention.

@Fizza Wasn't Cyrus trying to summon both Dialga and Palkia, then by a fluke accident, Giratina emerged, and he had to switch is plan last minute to account for it?

@VoidofLight You're probably right, but Cyrus, when he's in the Distortion World, marvels at what it is and conciously decides to stay there. He's very much like Volo in the sense that he desires to create his own world free of the pain and strife that had been brought upon him when he was young and, when he gets to the DW, he feels as though he's finally found the world he was looking for. There are a lot of parallels between PLA's events and Pt's ones when you put it like that, at least for me.

@Fizza I do think that this is the prequel to platinum, but yeah, I was just pointing out how Cyrus' plans moreso just changed because of a fluke that summoned Giratina more than anything else. Legends is basically setting the groundwork for that twist, given that Giratina starts to resolve to protect Hisui and the people/pokemon living in it. That's the reason why it ends up cutting a hole through realms when Palkia and Dialga were being threatened again.

Picked male and named him Void. I generally default to that in self insert games with online components, or games I plan on screen shotting.

Rei all the way baby. I'm really glad I did that as well since, because the story was far better than I expected, it felt good to have the protag feel like their own character and not just some self-insert (which is what I usually do for most Pokemon games). It's not bad to self-insert, don't get me wrong, but I just felt like I connected far more with the world because of what I named my character.

For years I always liked to play as like a rubbish imitation of myself, always thought that was so cool to see a sort of version of me in a game. However, as I grew older, I always wondered why I'd want to follow my ass around for 50+ hours, when I could play as a cute waifu instead. Games like Monster Hunter and Assassin's Creed really made me rethink things.

That really has been my main focus for the last few years, with Pokemon really being the one place I still play as a dude, because they are children. I name them after myself and sorta model them to the best I can as me?

As (almost) always in Pokemon, I used my real name (Tim) and stuck with the default look throughout the playthrough.

I'm not really one for character customization.

Don't feel bad to make your cartoonish persona in any games.
Looking at you character appearance on Legends Arceus, he looks like my alter ego as handsome nerd. My alter ego are always have nerdy looking with thick glasses, black short hair and blue color schemes outfits.

I always pick the female trainers since Pokemon Crystal (only exception was HGSS because I really dislike the female trainer design in these) so I also chose the female trainer in PLA. Trainer name is Majin.
