Topic: Pokemon Legends Arceus

The thing is I'm 6'5, built like a tank and covered in tattoos so I can't really see myself in any of these malnourished skinny children of Pokemon so it doesn't matter if they are nerdy looking, playing a different gender or wearing a monocle as it's all equally wrong. It’s the over the top he-man characters like Kratos or Zangief that I find more relatable which they could have had in this game as well as other adult avatars types since it's not the standard tween goes off on their own thing and would make the story less weird if the God Pokemon is kidnapping an adult like an established Champion to help (if they are even there to help as they don’t cover the reason in the game) rather than children.

@Sdelintwouters Unless there are any stat benefits then I never change the appearance in anyway. And I always pick a boy because that is what I am and I have never really thought about picking anything else. My character name is always DEW, this comes from when arcade units only allowed you three letters on the high score board, I really hated it when online names came along because I had to add stuff to make it work.

Yeah, the lack of older skin, glasses, beards and tattoos in character creators really limits my ability to make myself in games, which also fuelled my change to just making waifus instead. If I have to make so many concessions it doesn't even look like me anymore, then what even is the point? But I recognise I am not the target audience and when a character creator is as basic as it is here, you just gotta go with what you have. I tried to envision myself at 15 here.

@Pizzamorg I was 6' when I was 12 and got my first tattoo when I was 15 so I still can't even make a 15 year old me in this game. There's just no truth to this art!

Because Legends Arceus is not The Sims games with more customization.
And you complained for not having tons of customization options from Legends Arceus when the game is designed for kids.

@Anti-Matter I mainly eat the souls of the weak, sometimes I will have them with salsa and guacamole to dip them in.

Female named Ryu as is my custom. Games are still bad with skin tones so I didn’t try to make it look like me.

I haven't get the game yet but I usually try to make my alter ego have short black hair, blue eyes, Asian skin since I am from Indonesia, thick glasses, blue color outfits. I called my alter ego as handsome nerd. I always give my real name David on every games.

So a kid friendly game can't have a proper character creation tool????

Well, even kids games are deserved to have more character customization but having too many options probably will confusing younger gamer in creating their alter ego.
And you do realized in Legends Arceus, your character was literally a young teenager so the looking customization will be fit enough for young teenager, just same as Pokemon XY / Sun Moon / Sword Shield. It has been designed merely for younger audiences so it will not have too many options as other games for older audiences.

@Anti-Matter I mean, Animal Crossing has a massively robust character creation tool in the tones, hairstyles and outfits you can wear so that's an all ages focused game with mass amounts of customisation. Though I do suppose Animal Crossing and Pokemon are vastly different in that aspect: one's all about customisation while the other has it as a nice extra.

As for glitches: The leaves from the trees go totally haywire from time to time, spinning around. But today there was a Machoke in the top of a tree, why?! Well, at least I could catch him easy that way.

It's entirely possible for pokemon to spawn inside of trees or rocks, I've had it happen several times, particularly while hunting shiny Zoroark, every now and then one of them would be inside a rock, and sometimes it would be completely unreachable.

About pokemon climbing trees, it happens every now and then, when they walk or run into the tree, and get repositioned above it.

Inside the temple Pokemon often seemed to spawn in walls and if you threw a Pokemon down to battle them the camera would move out of the boundaries and you would be fighting in a void.

Also, not a glitch, but something I found slightly disturbing: Clefable's eyes. Under certain light conditions, in this game it's easy to notice they're actually fully round, with pink scleras around the oval pupil.

I actually just found a glitch whilst you were talking. Head to the Alabaster Icelands and do the Balloon Race. Then, midway through switching ride mons, press + to exit out. If all works, your character is now Super Saiyan.

By the way, I have a question about evolutions. Now I already evolved a few Pokemon, but is it possible to catch all the evolutions in the field? Just curious.

@Henmii A lot of them appear in the distortions so honestly, probably just look up the specific Pokemon you're looking for on Serebii, lots of time saved doing that.
