I loved how the register system worked in Gen 5. Instead of just certain key items, you could register a whole lot of things, like specific pockets of the backpack, or even different functions of the Pokédex, and other menus.
And it all could be accessed via a small menu by pressing Y (that didn’t interrupt the itemfinder when you opened it)
I was just breeding some female Pokés in Shining Pearl to send over for my Brilliant Diamond playthrough (I want to send them while they’re still in their eggs in order to avoid the exp boost), and while I’ve been spending far too long breeding for female Chikorita and Cyndaquil, I just hatched a shiny Cyndaquil, male, but he’s a keeper!
No shiny multipliers either. My Ditto wasn’t foreign and I don’t yet have the shiny charm.
Cyndaquil is my second shiny in Shining Pearl after pink Gastrodon, which was also without any shiny multipliers whatsoever. What luck!
@Silly_G That's amazing! The only ones I've gotten so far are 5 Kricketot's from a chain I did the day before PLA came out but I'll need to get back on it now. I'm thinking about going for Skarmory at Stark Mountain next because it's a very nice rusted shiny. It's appearance rate is annoyingly low but hey that's what Magnet Pull's for right?

@Fizza : Cool. That's my first time hearing about the "Magnet Pull" field mechanic.
And shiny Kircketot (five of them?!) is nothing to sneeze at. I would have loved one as I had Kricketune on my team throughout Shining Pearl. It was perhaps the weakest team I've ever had in a main series Pokémon game as I also had Chatot and Pachirisu, who sadly get OHKO'ed a little too often (Torterra, Purugly, and Gastrodon comprised the rest of my team).
@Silly_G Don't sleep on Pachirisu. The one I caught at the start of the game ended up being literally the perfect Pokemon for catching Legendaries with. Nuzzle, Super Fang, Charm and Discharge is an amazing moveset for getting them and, because I've used it since the start of the game, the affection rates are off the board, making him stick around for far longer than you'd think. In short, re the first sentence.

I went and tried the poke radar! Took three failed chains, and several repels, but I finally caught a shiny using this method:
I was originally going for Jigglypuff, but midnight rolled in in between failed starts, and the new Pokémon was Meowth, and I just had to go for it instead, since it’s one of my favorite Pokémon and I’ve never had a shiny one before 😅
I got lucky and got it to 20 in the first Meowth chain. I’ll try to continue the hunt tomorrow to see if I get another one to evolve, but I’m quite happy with just one!
@Eel Awesome! Meowth's an underrated shiny in my book, I like the slight coloration changes it has compared to the original.
You've actually just reminded me how I need to get back on radar hunting myself. I really want to get myself a Shiny Skarmory. It's got such a great rusted look, with the tiny green accents just being like muah, perfect.
I'm going to channel my inner Gen 4 competitive side and use a Magnet Pull Thunderbolt Magnezone to try and lure it out because I am NOT dealing with a base 5% encounter rate at Route 227/Stark Mountain.

@Fizza Did you update your game yet? because it just says prevented from being traded, so I could trade it to you first if you didn't update.
Still tho, it sucks they added that, the pokemon wasn't killing anyone, nor were they hacked had odd stats, nothing, Just gamefreak out to be controlling for whatever reason.
Instead of added the WTS building, they added this LOL.
