Topic: Persona 3/4/5 for Nintendo Switch

@JaxonH Yeah, I feel this. I know a 100+ game like Persona 5 can't get my full attention (nor should it, as I've played it twice before), but I'm having to say no to other games as the moment. I'd love to start Bayonetta, but with Pokemon around the corner I'm playing Persona while I still can... Bayonetta, Xenoblade and Nier will have to wait until next year at this rate. I'm not sure I'll ever get around to Rabbids unfortunately, as much as I loved the first.

...3rd major boss in P5...I'll admit this fight had me laughing a bit. lol

also I just found out that this is a spinoff series, so maybe after P5 I may look into Shin Megami Tensei V. I probably should've looked into this before in the first place because I like RPGs that let you have enemies join your party and stuff like that.

@Joeynator3000 SMT V is the dark version of Pokemon.

@Magician ...Yeah I pretty much know what to expect from these games after playing some of Persona 5. xD

@alpacatears Actually you can in the Switch version, but only in Hanheld.

I've been getting in the mood for January as of late.

The base Persona 5 took me 8 months to complete. Which I think is the longest it's taken me to finish any game.

When I first started playing it was around the time a family member started to get seriously ill. I finally finished the game a few days after this family member passed away and I just broke down crying. In a weird way it felt really cathartic, like 2 things that had ran parallel to eachother had now come full circle.

I just finished Persona 5 Royal. Wow. What a game. Top Five All Time for me.

Immediately, I am missing the game and the characters.

Yes, definitely. I felt the same way after finishing Persona 4 Golden two months ago. But at least then I had P5R to look forward to!

I am 30 or so hours through and I am trying my best to not play any other games on my Switch until I finish it because when I had P5 on my PS4 I got sidetracked one day with another game and I never came back to it. I am definitely enjoying it more this time though. It really lends itself to the hybrid docked and handheld mode of play. Eg I absolutely hate the Mementos bits, but being able to do them while watching TV helps a lot.

...Every single RPG...just has to have at least one boss that's infuriatingly difficult. Looks like Persona 5 is no exception...I'm guessing everyone who has played this game knows who I'm talking about.

Ugh...guess I'll toy around with the Velvet Room to see if I can make something powerful for this...

....Damn robots.

@Buizel Sorry for the late response! It was a long weekend on my country .

In the vanilla version, I clocked around 100-ish hours, I think. I didn't beat it then, and now I have the chance with this wonderful Switch version!

I would like to say this game is a perfect match for the Switch.

@Joeynator3000 That boss is absolutely infamous for being the most annoying in the game. Apparently there's a way to cheese it that, surprisingly, involves turning up the difficulty, but I don't really know the details myself. The palace itself also gets a lot of hate but I'm fairly neutral on it myself. Plus I personally think you're approaching some of the best parts of the game, so...

@HarmanSmith Wow, that's a lot of time to spend on a game that you never finished I do hope the new format encourages you to finish it!

@Buizel First time I've heard that one, might leave it on Normal and try using the Baton Pass thing for now. Apparently the bots have two weaknesses to work with, anyways I just gave the game a small break for a few days and went to Monster Hunter for now. Gonna head back and see if I can take him down now.

Also I kinda figured I was towards the end or something, lol

....10 seconds left....10...seconds....ON EASY. Ugh...whatever, finally killed him and can move on. No idea how I'll deal with him next time if I ever do that New Game+.

@kaisu Yeah if I was stuck for that long I don't know what I would've done, especially if I went to very easy and STILL lost somehow. xD

When you say that you mean the Personas you own, right? lol
Or is there a way to give new attacks for the other characters?

@kaisu Yeah I know they can only have one, was just wondering if there was a way to give them new attacks yourselves, but it doesn't look like it, ah well.

Anyways, yeah I had some pretty decent Personas and was decently leveled up, too...no idea why that boss was a nightmare, all the others were perfectly fine. xD

I am not up to the boss you refer to but that doesn't fill me with confidence lol. I don't really know what I am doing with persona forging so I'm sure I'll be unprepared whenever I meet that boss, but I will just drop it down to easy and hope for the best. Considering this game is 100+ hours long as it is, being stuck on a boss for days would just make me quit the game tbh, so I am fine with dropping difficulty temporarily.
