Topic: Paper Mario: The Origami King

Man, that rubberband boss fight is hard! Got it down to its final form and it totally destroyed me with one hit (my HP was around 40).

@Quarth happened to me too lol. It was one of the hardest aside from ice vellumental

@NintendoByNature Second try now... I used the extended arms to try and grab it, but it just evaded me and got in some nasty jabs on me, which drained my life. Sigh...

@Quarth it was very confusing. The rubber bands only shoot you up 1 ring which always tripped me up. You need to stack them all the way up to the front

@NintendoByNature Yeah, that I got. It's when the boss is down to its last band that I'm having trouble with.

@Quarth I can't remember exactly what to do. Maybe check out a let's play on that for a tip

That mini game in the green streamer area wasn’t bad. I aced it (though I did utilize some screenshots to help!).

The mini boss I’m fighting now is rad. The boss fights in this game are some of the most creative I have ever experienced in a video game. Well, I still think Metroid Prime 2 has the best boss fights of any game ever made, but Paper Mario Origami King deserves some kind of recognition in the upper echelon of timeless boss battles.

I’m so close o beating the game! Onto Peach’s Castle I go! I think I’ll beat the game either tonight or Tommorow. I just can’t wait!

@Quarth if you’re talking about he rubber band boss, I had such a hard time with it as well. It took me about 3 game overs to finally figure it out. If it wasn’t for the envelopes during the fight I’d still probably be stuck on it 😂 I didn’t realize I could use the rubber bands as arrows!

I don't suppose so, @Quarth.... As long as it's done now, though!

@Apportal It was a very (frustratingly) clever boss fight, I must admit. While the regular battles aren't that great, the boss fights surely are. 👍

@JaxonH if I remember correctly he is found on top of a roof, or he is found on a lone island. I forget which one is which, he’s on one of them.

Ya he was on the lone island. I saw it too and wondered it that might be him but figured it was part of the castle.

WARNING: MINOR SPOILERS
Does anyone want an easy 10k in coins? I have a good method. First, go to Shroom City found in the desert. Than close to the entrance is a snifit on a seesaw. Go behind the house and walk up the steps to get on to the roof and bounce him high, flinging him into the entrance sign. He will knock down some power ups and a toad. That toad is the owner of the mansion in Toad Town. Go back to toad town and go inside the said house and meet up with the toad again. He’ll reward you with 10k. Hope this helps anyone!

I did it guys and gals. Beat TOK. What a wonderful surprise to have this dropped on us when we only knew about it two months ago. Didn't have much time to get hyped, but the amount I did, was definitely surpassed. The final area was great, the last few boss fights were rock solid. And the ending was beautifully done and may have even tugged on my own personal heart strings. Its up there for me as GOTY with XC:DE.

Now I want to experience even more in the series. I still have sticker star unplayed, and I can grab color splash, super paper mario, and 1000 year door at some point. We'll see how much down time we have from now until the new year.
