@SKTTR That list is hugely misleading though. Almost all of the Sony releases were prior to their deal with Nintendo falling flat and them making the PS1. The remaining 7 are all Sony Music Entertainment, which for all intents and purposes is completely separate from Sony Interactive Entertainment, the two branches rarely communicate and often seem to work cross purpose.

As for Microsoft, most of those are actually post Xbox, but many either are: Releases of titles from companies they bought out that were already in the works (Pillars, Outer Worlds) , or the Minecraft IP (which has never been treated as an exclusive for them).

Unlike the other two, Nintendo's never had a time where they were not selling their own hardware while the other company was, nor do they have other divisions outside of the games industry.

@link3710 Yeah, most of the SONY releases were from 1990-1994 on the NES, GB, and SNES. Then SONY obviously shifted all focus towards their own PlayStation console in 1995.

The branch of a company or the release of the original PlayStation don't matter for this list. It's just for every game that SONY or a SONY company and Microsoft or a Microsoft company made for Nintendo and vice-versa.

Oh yeah, I get it, I was just pointing out that it was rather misleading to those without in-depth knowledge of the matter, especially those who just looked at the top line summaries for each company.

Just did the water chase scene. Wow that was intense.

Yes, I died at least 4 times on that before I made it.

The haunted forest place you head soon after is mind blowingly awesome. The layout changes as you navigate. You might walk left and do something, then as you double back everything is different and you’re on a completely different path. It’s really weird like that. Everything is changing and it’s not shown on the map... it feels like the maze from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but as a weird creepy Forest instead.

@JaxonH dude i just played this last night/early today and it's trippy for sure. I just got the wall grab power up. So i think I'm close to finishing the area..... I think. It's like Willy wonka and the ori factory.

I never thought id be petrified of an owl lol. But after you do the "wind escape" scene, you come face to face with the big bad in a game of hide and seek-ish. It's pretty cool and intense for sure. Again, those of you who already played it know what I'm talking about and those who haven't yet, are in for a treat.

Great game, just finished it yesterday. That escape scenes were awesome, musically and visually stunning.

In the last escape scene just as I finished it and started the ending animation my game crashed! I had to do it all over again, and I really didn't mind since it was so awesome.

Think you guys have surpassed me, since I’ve been busy with Dragon Quest XI S, Sniper Elite III, Yooka-Laylee Impossible Lair, among others.

But that’s OK because this is one of those games that are so good I don’t want it to end, and almost want to not play it to ensure I have some creme de la creme to dive into whenever I’m actually on the go and looking for a solid pick up and play title. It’s weird but I’ve felt that way about several Switch games where I’m kind of reluctant to progress because I want to have some of the game left for later.

@JaxonH the only game I legit felt bad about beating was Botw. Like ever. Actually didn't know what to do after i beat it the first time back in March of 2017 lol. Then again, I didn't have much to do since there wasn't alot on Switch at that point and id pretty much stopped playing my ps4.

I tried the demo. Even though it seems like a very good game, I don't think it's for me. The setting is a bit to dark and depressing for my liking...

@PACO_PEREZ do you need every ability to finish the Game. Just playing thru the story and not really going off the beaten path, I'm at mount horu and missing the last two abilities, but I don't want to dive too far into mount horu if I'm really under leveled.

Unless anyone else knows?

NintendoByNature

PACO_PEREZ

I think you don't need all the abilities to finish. Don't remember exactly but I think I finished without the last two abilities. Really intense final chase scene.

@PACO_PEREZ just finished the game without the last two abilities..thanks for the tip, you weren't kidding about that last chase scene. Really tested my patience lol.

I’ve been enjoying the game. It’s clearly gorgeous and well designed. The controls are nice and tight. It tells a nice environmental story...

...but I’m surprised how few of the reviews mentioned the difficulty. It’s not insurmountable (I grew up with the NES) but there are bits early on that have tested my patience. The escape from water going up through a tree took me 10-20 tries. I reckon in 2019 with so many games available so cheaply that 4 out of 5 players would give up at that section. It does make me contemplate whether I can be bothered enduring what the devs think is acceptable later on in the game.

Ori in general feels very fragile. The game design is built around that and the ability to save on demand but it’s not welcoming.

I also think the combat system feels tacked in and imprecise. There’s not a great enemy variety and I actually think the game would have been better served by removing the enemies and combat completely. They don’t add anything (the spikey platforming is enough of a hazard). It would only have enhanced the atmosphere (which I think is the best bit of the game - I don’t think I’ve ever played a metroidvania that does atmosphere and ambience better than Ori).

If this game had come out 15 years I think it would have been a revelation and it is great but I think it’s not a patch on Super Metroid or Hollow Knight (which is also way too hard for the mainstream in places but which does most things better than Ori and pushes the Metroidvania design into new directions).

Not exactly thrilled after buying this.

Yeah it's cute and graphically beautiful but there's alot of dying and trial and error too. I got stuck in the first half hour of the game because i didn't know enemies could break through unstable ground. I'm walking back and fourth all over the damn map right after reaching that first big tree area with the save going what the hell? Where am i supposed to go?

The only path to progress was apparently under a section of unstable ground to the right. The game never explained that those jumping enemies can leap up and break through it. I accidentally ended up in that really dark bog area instead and thinking this can't be where I'm supposed to be. I can't see a damn thing!

So yeah my first play session did not go smoothly. I nearly quit out of frustration. Not good for a supposedly 9/10 game. Also 20 bucks for this? A bit steep if you ask me.

Hello everyone! Got a switch for xmas, and this is the first game i bought. It’s very nice! I’m kind of stuck on the “charged wall break” mechanics.. i can’t seem to figure it out. Could anyone help pls? What should i press and in what order? Thank you in advance

@Rickrmnk
Are you talking about those blue-glowing slabs of stone that block your way? For those, you need to use the charged shot. You hold down the Y button (attack button), get relatively close, then let go when your little blue floaty guy is charged up. You need to have a blue orb for each use of the charged shot, though.

If that's not what you're talking about, then I'm not sure. That's about the point in the game I'm up to.
