Looking at my unit I've got marks appearing on the left and right bezels I guess from docking the unit, but even more worryingly it's also picking up marks on the screen and this is coming from someone who is ultra carefull with their tech.
My tempered glass protector from Orzly can't get here soon enough, then I can swap the protector out and have a hopefully a scratch fee and bubble free screen!!
My advice to anyone with a Switch would be not to dock it unless they have a screen protector installed.

@Farmboy74 Got my Orzly TGSP and it looks really good on the Switch, I have had no issues. Had my Switch on all day pretty much, the screen has stayed on!

@lordred12345,

That looks nothing short of amazing and a better fit than the screen protector that came with came with the official case.

I bought the official screen protector for my son, as the Hori's I ordered won't come for a week or two.

The one I had seem to be a bit on the big side and had to cut it a bit on side and top to make it properly fit.
Dissapointing, paying 10 bucks for the "official" screen protector and seeing such shoddy quality control.
How hard is it to make proper fit screen protectors! /facepalm

So with these tempered glass panels, how easy is it to get the things off again, if you haven't aligned it well enough, or if you decide you don't like it, or just want to fit a replacement because your first one has got too scratched?

Because with the cheaper 'films' there's no residue left behind, they're very easy to lift off and have another go etc.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

@lordred12345 I'd like to see how it feels compared with the Nintendo one. I'd like something a bit sturdier ad the Nintendo one is quite soft.

@gcunit So you need to be careful with tempered glass protectors that you get them on right first time. If you need to lift the screen protector off the screen ensure you do so before it's fully flat, otherwise you risk snapping it. This is why film protectors are better in respect of allowing you to "start again" if you get it wrong, but glass ones are better in terms of durability, quality and keeping the screen image crystal clear.

@ROBLOGNICK Thanks - so once it's on, what if it gets badly scratched and I want to take it off and put another one on?

@gcunit Tempered glass screen protectors are quite hardy, I'd be surprised if it was damaged enough to need replacement until a good couple of years. However, if you do need to remove it, I recommend some strong tape on the edge and pull slowly. If you're careful it should lift in one piece but no guarantees!

Using the official Nintendo Combo right now, but will upgrade next month to this case:

and atFoliX Screen Protectors once the original one should for some reason scratch.

I just loved the Waterfield City Slicker Cases for both my New 3DS and New 3DS XL, best looking and highest quality cases on the market imo, and was thrilled that they were so excited about the Switch that they made surveys among their customer what the perfect Switch case should be like. The development process is interesting to watch and documented here:

PS: No, I do not work for them... I just really love what they do!

Got the amFilm tempered glass protector yesterday. Came in a pack of 2, which was good because I messed up applying the first one. Had a problem with the second one where it had some large bubbles I couldn't get rid of. However, I found I was able to lift corners and edges slightly and reapply to get rid of those bubbles, and now it looks great. However, the thickness of it makes it harder to put into and take out of the dock. The taking out isn't a big deal, but for sliding it in I have to fiddle with it a bit.

So I would look for a tempered glass protector that's thinner than .3mm.

ordered the illumishield off amazon and received...but one reviewer said he had to take it off and it pulled up the switch screen itself...now a little worried about installing it..

Loving the Zelda Sheikah Slate case...and it seems to be an iteration of the starter set cases that PDP is putting out. Just need a screen protector....all the stores around me are sold out...waiting on Amazon.

I decided to pick up the HORI case as well so I could compare with the Orzly- prefer the Orzly as it's bigger, got a carry strap and just seems more protective!

@Shane76 that's exceedingly brave! I had mine a matter of hours before the dock put a scratch on it!
