@Enoch72 I managed to turn a bad thing into good with the GAME cancelled order email. I checked with my local Argos and yes, they have them in stock at the store and you can pre-order for pickup Friday (they won't sell early). Means at least I know I can go to the store Friday without any hassle and just pick it up.
I called Best Buy again. They again said there's nothing they can do, even though others have told me they can do something. I asked them about the Switch consoles they are supposed to have for people without pre-orders, and if they could reserve one of those for me. They said they can't directly contact stores, so they gave me the number for one. I called, and they said they can't do it. I have Breath of the Wild and a case coming from Amazon on Friday, I'll just have to imagine I have a Switch too.

Best Buy says three things for me; that they're preparing the order, they've placed a hold on the funds in my account, and 'Get it by Thursday, March 2.'
Their not having shipped it yet would seem to contradict the supposed delivery date. Should I just ignore the date their site is telling me?
still waiting on amazon taking the money from my account - orders still sitting at pre-ordered.. hopefully they update this soon ! can see Zelda ordered from Nintendo has a pending transaction on my bank account but even this Is still showing as processing on their site :@
I actually contacted Nintendo about this to clear up the confusion. I asked this specifically to my order as the page shows "dispatch on 3rd" with standard delivery.
I quote nintendo UK online store reply
"We can confirm that all pre-orders from our Store, will be dispatched before their announced release date. You should then expect delivery to be completed on or before this same date."
I am pleased to announce my charging grip is on the way, but my Switch is still waiting
They told me the same thing, but mentioned the date displayed has had more than a few queries about getting the switch on release day!
Also, Amazon have confirmed Bomberman is due to get to me on the third!

I think I might have just gotten lucky with getting a Switch on launch day for sure from a pre oder. Because a good friend of mine I know since kindergarten. He pre ordered the switch but he may most likely just end up just selling it to me. So more than likely I'll be able to get the console without any hassles. Like trying to track one down or waiting until they're available regularly and are easy to find.

I emailed them back in January and they sent me the same "will arrive on launch day or before" email everyone else has. but it's getting late so I sent them a this less subtle message just now that i think embodies all our frustrations.
"Dear sir/madam of Nintendo
Please take my money god dammit! I've been sitting here checking my email every 10 minutes for 2 days because you gaurenteed me in an earlier enquiry that my Neon Switch and Zelda will be dispatched to arrive on the 3rd, possibly even before, now it's the 1st and you still haven't taken my money! just take it! I can't stand it! Now all I do is sit on youtube searching for Nintendo Switch video after Nintendo Switch video, it has taken every ounce of self control not to completely spoil Legend of Zelda for myself because you've sent it off to blabber mouth you-tubers to complete before i even get to touch it!
Just send it now and take my money! super special deluxe first class please so i can play it tomorrow before all the Zelda reviews come out with all their spoilers!

Of course it takes 1-2 days for them to reply so they aren't gonna get back to me before the launch most likely, but still. felt good.
Just signed up to see how everyone else's pre-orders are going.
I initially pre-ordered from Amazon because they had new stock in (in early February, saying it was ready for launch day). Then I checked the email about a week ago and realised it was saying estimated delivery was for the 11th of March!
So I ordered directly from Nintendo, got the email after an enquiry that it was to be delivered on launch day,...but then also saw my tracking on Amazon saying it'll dispatch today to arrive on Friday. So reluctantly cancelled Nintendo's one and am now hoping Amazon make good on their promise.
Still no dispatch update though and it's getting on a bit now...
Have preordered from amazon and will receive Switch and BotW on Friday!! (Apparently)
Have been worried about not getting them since other places seem to be sold out of BotW.
For everyone wondering, amazon doesn't take money out of your account until they actually post the order, at least as far as preorders are concerned. I would assume other sites/companies do the same, but anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.
Yep been exact the same. Refresh emails. Check my account on Nintendo. Check bank account. Wait half an hour repeat.

Im so glad its not just me having this problem ive been worried for days! My friends switch they ordered from shopto was dispatched yesterday and mine still sits on the nintendo store uk site awaiting stock pick along with botw ive also been worried my card details were wrong or something? I think not. Hopefully its dispatched soon ;-;
Not just me then. Had the grey console on order for months with Nintendo online UK store and sit nervously awaiting anything other than "awaiting stock pick" and no money been debited from my card. I've been having "today it might be dispatched" thoughts all week, but nothing yet. I've been looking forward to this for months ,and my BotW copy is on the way from another retailer, so hopefully we'll all get some good news soon.
