It's safe to assume that NX will likely have its share of remakes and remasters from Nintendo. What would you like? Try to keep it realistic
I can see some Wii U games being ported over to help fill the first year. Due to the Wii U's limited install base i feel like some wii u titles didn't get a fair swing, like Tropical Freeze. I think a Director's Cut of SSB4 at launch would be wise.
Mario 64, Sunshine or DK64 remake?
DK64 remake could grab a lot of attention for it being so similar to Banjo.
Lol poor DK Tropical Freeze, if that has to be ported to NX to get more attention it'll be the 2nd DK game in a row to have that happen. DK Returns Wii to 3DS...
@Dankykong: You do realize every DKC game gets ported eventually. especially to portables?
Not a nearly identical port. The Wii to 3DS is the most pure and similar looking game. SNES to GB or GBA didn't look or act the same. Also they weren't ported due to lack of attention, unlike DKC Returns.
omg sorry triple post... sometimes this site lags.
Wow haven't used my profile in 4 years lol but for me pretty much any of the 3D Mario games really mostly the first Galaxy. Maybe if the NX has a normal controller with 2 control sticks have the 2nd stick be for moving the pointer around and grab star bits I think that would work and you could press L/R to shake.
Personally, I think the most remakes that might show up are the ones from the Gamecube era. I'm pretty positive that F-Zero GX will mostly get a remake as means of seeing whether fans like the series or not.
I really really hope that Nintendo doesn't go to far down the remake route. I dont have an issue with games that more than two gens old but if they just remaster wiiu games (I still think the NX won't be BC to dump the Power PC chip) then I'll be waiting them out until real games come out...just like I did with the ps4 and will do with the xbone.

I'm a Dream Fighter. Perfume is Love, Perfume is Life.
Super Mario Sunshine- The game is somewhat niche compared to other Mario games, but if Majora's Mask got a remake I see no reason why Sunshine can't, plus we really need to see some collectathon games again. Anyway, there's a lot of room for improvement with this game in terms of content and how the game progresses. For one, they should rework how you unlock Corona Mountain, instead of needing to complete every Episode 7, maybe just complete 1 and collect 50 Shines. Second, add more levels, 7 is pretty low, there should be at least 10. And then maybe tone down the Blue Coins a bit to make 100% less aggravating. And speaking of 100%, there should be a proper reward for 100%ing the game. A Grandmaster Galaxy/World 8-Crown/Champion Road type of final level wouldn't hurt.
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl- Rolling right along with Pokemon remakes, DP is next in line. Now many including myself believe that Platinum was a near perfect game, but considering where the series has gone since then there's still some improvements to be made. The storyline could be fleshed out a little more and could give more backstory to the Sinnoh legends, including a post game story arc a la the Delta Episode in ORAS that could feature Giratina and a catchable Arceus. Mega Evolutions will be a given, and Dialga and Palkia will have some new type of Mega Evolution (like Primal Reversion). 6th gen's online system will also majorly improve the game, especially if you can connect with people over the PSS in the Underground which would make it a much livelier experience.
Super Metroid- Contrary to what some people believe, I think there's room for improvement in this one. Maridia's level design needs a major overhaul, it's horribly linear and there's not much to do there besides fight Draygon. Maybe they could also add Chozodia to the game as well. There's a few powerups they could add to flesh out these extra areas like Spider Ball and Power Grip.
Metroid Prime- Improvements from some of the later Prime games could actually benefit this game a lot. Add in the Seeker Missiles, Screw Attack, Grapple Lasso, and Grapple Voltage. Like with Maridia in Super Metroid, Phazon Mines is way too linear and needs some extra missions, and Magmoor Caverns is mainly filler, so they'd be good places for these new powerups.
Kirby 64- I don't see this happening but if for whatever reason they want to, I could see this one being worth an update. They could add in Leaf and Water as new copy abilities and come up with new combos for them.
@Bolt_Strike: Pokémon has always done things differently, I don't think you can use that franchise as a comparison for other Nintendo franchises. Still, 2 Zelda remakes on the 3DS isn't mindblowing either.
I'd rather see new games than remakes. Just implement a proper version of the VC and allow for more older games to be playable on the VC.

Well regardless, you have to look at the situation and see what games are viable for remakes based on age and popularity. The NX will probably focus on remakes of 6th gen games, with a few 7th gen games as well. Now there aren't a lot of 6th gen games that I think are good for remakes, so I don't think there's going to be a zillion of them, but I do think there's several that are viable (Twilight Princess, DP, Sunshine are good ones, and there might be 1 or 2 more).
I don't expect the NX to have backwards compatibility so I hope there is a line of "definitive edition" Wii U games. The games I want remade the most though are of dormant or struggling franchises to see if they have a future. For example, F-Zero GX should be remastered and the 2D Metroids should be remade. Other than that, I'd like a remastered package of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn to improve their support systems and VA.
Mother 3
Super Metroid
Fire Emblem Radiant Collection.
Almost said F-Zero, but a remake wouldn't make any sense
Pokemon Red/Blue or Diamond/Pearl Remake
Zelda: Link's Awakening (Less a remake, more something like Link Between Worlds)
Metroid Prime Trilogy, but I'd much rather see MP4
Paper Mario 64/TTYD
Final Fantasy VI (In a similar graphics style to Bravely Default, or with complete realistic graphics)
Advance Wars (Wait. No. No. No... Just give me a new one. Please.)
I could totally see them doing a crazy expanded remake of Super Mario 64.
I'm predicting any two of the above list. I'd list what I'd like the most, but those games would be too obscure to happen.
Currently bored (while change when I stop being bored)
1. If I've played the game, I'm not interested unless SUBSTANTIAL content and improvement is added, and the game has strong replay value through non-linear gameplay. WWHD pretty much failed this in spades. Also, there can't be downgraded elements cough ToS Chronicles cough
2. If I haven't played the game, I'm interested so long as a core element of the original game isn't dramatically altered via the changes (e.g. removing the non-linearity in a remake of Pokemon RBY)
Given that, there are only a few Nintendo games I've played that I'd be interested in being remade.
Pandora's Tower
Xenoblade Chronicles
Pokemon RBY
Pokemon GSC
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
