My only opinion is that if you (in the general sense) try to find an elaborate way to discredit him, it is no better than believing in him, and that being open to what he is saying isn't naive esp. now after the Pokemon reveal.
Honestly, that's probably the wisest thing anybody has said in this entire thread.
@Ichi I did misunderstand you as being in the right category in the first post. Sorry. Still, since you were civil with the post you made, I too will be civil. While I don't really believe in him, I'll keep my eye on this to see where it goes.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
@TheLastLugia: Kimishima wants 100 million Nintendo accounts ASAP(even 200 million down the road.). And while he hasn't officially said this, don't need to be a genius to figure he wants that number next year, and would love to get that by spring. So unless they think they're gonna hit a grand slam with their mobile apps nx is probably launching this holiday.
@WebHead: Nintendo accounts are meaningless outside of mobile though so he's banking on Miitomo and the other mobile games having a gigantic attachment rate. Which is fair enough given that if a mobile game is successful, it's very successful.
@WebHead: You could say that, but that's nothing that makes me think I'm 'fooling myself', for not buying these rumours. The vast majority of those 200 million are going to be via mobile if/when they hit that mark, regardless of what the NX is and when it launches. So that doesn't convince me, thought to be fair it is a logical conclusion to make unlike a majority of conclusions I've seen recently on this subject.
True point but at the same time mobile is a very competitive market, if your app doesn't make the top 25 featured on the apps stores the app is basically screwed.
Zelda U being ported to a new portable device isn't that out of the realm of possibility. Mobile devices are damn powerful in today's day and age, and Nintendo has already successfully scaled down two large intensive games to handheld platforms.

If we're getting a home console this year, I fear the worst. Dev kits have been out for less time than they were for the Wii U at this point. And they're going to have a very hard time competing against the PS4 this year. I don't think Nintendo is that stupid.
@WebHead: Agreed. There is no question the NX is coming out Holiday 2016. No question. It will also launch with a Zelda game, whether that game is the NX version of ""Zelda for the Wii U" or some other Zelda game, it will launch with one.
The form of the device, however, is what is completely unknown.
A handheld that could run Zelda U would certainly be interesting to see. I swear if they don't call it the HDS they will have missed an amazing opportunity. I think the whole "not enough time for dev kits" thing isn't as big a deal as people are making it. Maybe Nintendo doesn't care if 3rd parties have titles ready for launch if they already have a decent lineup for themselves. After all, the Wii U launched with mostly 3rd party games and nothing too special from Nintendo and it didn't work out for them in the end. They could just be telling them "Here's our kit, don't worry about being ready for launch, just make and release them when you're ready".
Completely baseless speculation on my part. But it's fun.
@Operative: But if it's another exclusive Nintendo box, how are you going to convince the people to get the system at launch? I mean, they didn't care for the Wii U, so a console with even less third party games at launch is certainly not going to appeal to them.
@Grumblevolcano: hmm fair. Does seem like Nintendo is prioritizing their inner circle(close Japanese publishers like Sega.) And Indies. I honestly think they've given up on trying to get NES and SNES level third party support.
