The sequel to the first Nicktoons platform fighter is officially confirmed and it looks to take the original criticisms (graphics, voice acting at lauch, modes, gameplay) and character suggestions (Squidward, Jimmy Newtron) of the first game and applying em here along with a new campaign, what looks to be final smashes, and more.
I really hope that they start adding Dag & Norbert from Angry Beavers. I may not had watch that show much throughout my childhood but it still deserves some love out there. Same goes for Hey Arnold (which was my mom's favorite show of all), Rocket Power, & As Told By Ginger.
Normally, I WOULD also add Doug but...uh...it's unique case would be a problem...
Am I missing anything else...?
I sell my famous Chesapeake Tupperware.
I ACCEPT NO DEBIT CARDS!
DO YOU HEAR ME!?!
Seems like this one is actually having a bigger budget because this is quite a glow up. Also happy to see my favorite Turtle, Raph, finally show up.
As for character I'd love to see, Zuko, Dag and Norbert, Henry & June, Kitty Katswell, Timmy Turner, and someone from Rocket Power(probably Sam) are probably on that list
From yesterday a press release is here detailing stuff! Along with my notes

(Captain's notes: I'm guessing not everyone will be returning from the first. Probably be Hugh Neutron. Also strange that Leo and Mikey is missing from the trailer...Has they been swapped out? Brace yourself folks! Also the more variety on how each character plays.. Taking inspiration from Slap City's secret moves?)
Hit Hard With Supers: Power up your fighters with incredible new Supers, which can deal devastating blows to opponents. (Captain's notes: So there IS final smashes! Neat to see!)
Single-Player Campaign: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 will launch with a unique campaign featuring roguelike elements. Put your skills to the test as you fight to stop Danny Phantom archvillain Vlad Plasmius from taking over the Nickelodeon universe!
Voice Acting for All Playable Characters: Feel the energy and excitement of every attack with a fully voiced cast of fighters, including the talents of Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) and Bill Fagerbakke (SpongeBob SquarePants).

TL:DR
Controls and gameplay are closer to Smash Bros than previous. Tap jump, back air, walking, shield mechanics, etc. No mentions of grabs though....
Wavedashing is still here.
RPS mechanic is gone.
Your meter (aka the SLIME METER) is your offensive, defensive, Super attack (i.e. final smash), sorta like MK10...I think. And it has a whole buncha uses.
For example
You can Roman cancel (cancel your attack upon landing said attack into another) into another attack (though it won't be as strong) and other options.
Burn a meter to improve your Up Special recovery and basically EX your specials.
Burn meter to halt being launched momentum.
So on and so fourth..
...
Also at the end. Plankton is revealed as a new challenger. How is Plankton able to fight at this small size? Simple, he controls a mech.
I've played enough hours of this. So here's my review of Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2. I've played the whole thing in docked mode.
Pros.
The increase in presentation is clear. Animations, expressions, graphics and a bunch of voice acting is on display.
The slime mechanic has a bunch of uses and is a nice change.
The gameplay is closer to Smash Bros and it's better for it and the characters move much better and all characters play very differently without air attacking over and over again or have the same uppercut attack.
Campaign Mode! And the conversations that take place in Campaign mode that is surprisingly numerous (Not to the level of Hades), heartwarming, and funny especially when you get a character that hasn't been in action in a long time which will make any Nickelodeon fan smile.
The arcade mode isn't purely 1v1 anymore!
Middling Stuff.
The slime button takes some getting used to. It may be my controller layout but I would like to have the slime button to be easier mapped.
Enemy AI isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.
The campaign mode could've gone a bit deeper on it's stuff:
Would like to see more power ups and items in the Campaign. (Like Special Attacks have gotten more powerful but normal attacks are weaker and reverse of that. Increased weight but you move slower and also reverse of that, holding on to Slime makes you stronger but you lose slime on death, vice versa.)
Probably at least 2 more bosses and 4 shopkeepers. You're going to be running to the same bosses and shopkeepers a whole bunch.
Basically some more enemy variety in the campaign.
Overall coding and menus needs more time in the oven.
Cons.
Lucy Loud is solo repping The Loud House and considering the character amount and personalities that is on offer from that show, that sucks. (I miss Lincoln.)
There's no in depth character tutorials on how to play certain characters like The Angry Beavers, Jimmy Neutron like in Rivals of Aether nor the move set list is detailed enough for certain attacks like in Smash Ultimate. The moveset list can only do so much.
The tutorial doesn't go further on how to use, Slime shielding, Slime cancelling, Slime Stopping, Slime Burst, perfect shielding, etc. (You're just expected to know how to use those techniques based on the descriptions on how to use it on the how to play section.) Good Luck Online!
There's no way to study up on status effects on your HUD, like confusion, poison, or that star with the three up arrows (that's movement up), or items.
Needs better sound design on attacks, perfect shielding, and the voices; especially some of which last longer than the attack. (Hello, Grandma Gertie's Strong Up Air].
Overall, the campaign mode needs more variety on enemies, powerups, and few more bosses and shopkeepers because you'll tire out when you go further and further in the campaign.
It's missing a couple of stuff and QOL features that make it line up with the platform fighters like Rivals of Aether, Smash, and Slap City but as it stands right now, the improvements are clear and shows that given the right budget, love and a second chance can have a Nickelodeon Smash Style game work.
Well Done! 8/10*
*If you're playing this that isn't on the Switch.
If you're playing this on Nintendo's hybrid console you'll encounter severe frame rate hiccups (don't equip the auto-fire projectile power up on Campaign mode folks.), freezing, missing and unfinished graphics. (April O Neil's Channel 6 Super Attack Ball, Flying Dutchman's flames on the platforms, Tremorton Joyride skybox, the Super Attack star.), long load times, and last but not least the FPS for this fighting game is 30 with frame rate hiccups. Unacceptable.
For that, I do not recommend the Switch version at this point in time. 6/10.
