@Dezzy Could've been they announced this now so they can tell investors that Switch has upcoming games?
Still thinking the setup will be:
3rd party August Partner Showcase which announces Bravely Default II for September
General Direct in early September which announces the holiday lineup and early 2021 (retail games need 2 months minimum notice so Pikmin 3 Deluxe would've had to be announced by late August)
Besides only being a Wii U port, I'm a little bit bumped, that it will be released on October 30th. So it seems we won't have any games in August and September. 😕
I would have preferred the 3D Mario collection and/or a Mario 3D World port, to be honest.
Nintendo's announcement strategies have been very strange this year, to say the least.
Why wasn't the Pikmin 3 Deluxe announcement part of a Direct? Same with Origami King.
But then they decided to hold a Mini Direct for 3rd parties, and a very minor one at that.
I can't make heads or tails out of it.
@FragRed
The Switch is about 2x as powerful than the Wii U. But I was actually talking about the resolution. DKC: Tropical Freeze looked absolutely stunning in 1080p. But with Pikmin 3 I can't see any difference.
It just not worth of 60€ if you have play the game already.
So i keep waiting for the next annoucement.. Hopefully something for me. It's been a long year.
@dionysos283 The original game ran at 720p30fps (but was absolutely gorgeous). All the screenshots for this one are at 900p, so I'd assume that's the resolution they went with, while the trailers are in 60fps. So I'd assume this version is 900p60fps instead of 720p30fps.
That said, I do agree it's not a striking difference. Pikmin 3 already looked gorgeous within it's graphical limitations. But the fact that they doubled frame rate is probably why the resolution looks relatively unchanged.
I guess this makes another "regular" Direct for August pretty unlikely. Maybe another partners showcase, or possibly a Mario Direct? What do you guys think?
Ah, well .... Since it'd only be 1st party games, it's unlikely there's enough of those for a mini, sadly! I certainly wouldn't get too hopeful for one but I'd love to be wrong about that
