Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

Y'all think we getting a June direct?

@Bigmanfan I could definitely see one after the Switch 2 launch that details more about games coming out in the months following and some titles that'll come out in 2026.

@Bigmanfan I think we will, almost definitely if we don't get any significant news this month, particularly for Switch 1.

I'd be shocked if they leave those players hanging for too long once the Switch 2 releases, even if it's just a Woolly World here and a Planet Robobot there.
There has to be a few things in the pipeline for that install base before the end of 2025.

Equally, for Switch 2, games like DK Bananza, Drag X Drive, Kirby Air Riders could do with another look-in depending on their scale and distance from release. I really hope there's more going on with Drag X Drive than we realise but I'm not too hopeful. And then there's the potential for new reveals however, on the Mario front particularly, I wouldn't be surprised if they saved that content (New 3D Mario / Mario Wonder NS2 Edition etc.) for it's own 40th anniversary presentation around September time.

@NeonPizza If we are listing hopes, mine are anything Kid Icarus, the Oracle Zeldas (I really hope they aren't in the "toy" style though), ARMS II, and Galaxy 1+2. That said, Zeldas OoT, MM, and TP would be nice too.

I think a May indie world is more likely than a general direct this month.

Yeah, save the general Direct for June. "Switch 2 just launched, so here's more of what you can expect on it" sort of thing.

@DarkRula That's what I'm betting on. A direct in June that happens a bit after the Switch 2's launch which defines the roadmap for the console.

What're we thinking about PH Brazil saying the next direct is gonna be the week of or after the Switch 2 launch? A bit sooner than I expect but the big N has been full of surprises lately

The leak didn't say what the format would be, but it makes a lot of sense that Nintendo does 'something' in formally-E3-season/summer-game-fest season. Seems like a good time to advertise the Switch 2 more after it comes out. And it should be noted that there is an xbox presentation on June 8 so we may be hearing about more Switch 2 ports there.

@Blooper987 Regarding launch week I could see a midnight launch celebration event, not a Direct as such but more like what Nintendo did with TotK:

I think if there's a Direct during summer event season that next week (e.g. May 28th) or later in June (e.g. June 25th) is more likely.

It's a funny one as it would be a really short gap between directs but would also make sense given they may want to show off DK Bananza and Drag X Drive. Or would they just leave these to Nintendo Today?

But then your next 'checkpoint' is in September which feels quite late to be cramming MP4, Hyrule Warriors, Kirby Air Riders + whatever Mario's doing for his 40th.

But then again surely you would do a Direct just after you launch a system. I don't know I'm clearly very torn lmao

so do yall think we could get a direct this week? im heavily enjoying MKW, but i do feel as if there is a lot to be revealed haha. i js hope we arent waiting until september 😅

I think we could see one either this week or next. I'm still betting they're gonna make a Mario Maker 3. Nintendo can show off their mouse controls, plus it would work great with game chat. But yeah, there's definitely a lot they probably want to show off

I've already dropped Mario Kart so I'm not feeling particularly great about my decision to buy the console at launch so it would be nice to get some more announcements to get excited about sooner rather than later TBH.

I hope the next game they reveal isn't Mario related. I'm kinda tired after every release in the past few years has been something Mario.

I hope there's a direct and that we see more info on Tomodachi Life! They might not want to talk about Switch 1 games right now though.

I also want to know what else is in store for the Switch 2, especially first party titles.

@OctolingKing13 I think they’ll wait until later on in the month. Give people more time to play Mario Kart World but also it’s rare that Nintendo has a Direct the same week as a Splatoon 3 event (this weekend is Big Run).

@Dev-N Same. This'll be my first Donkey Kong 3D game.. since I wasn't alive when the original came out- and they didn't make any other ones outside of 64 I believe.

@Dev-N @VoidofLight Same same. I basically bought Switch 2 for DK. I wish it were out sooner. I hope it's as good as it looks.
