@JaxonH The people who are playing it aren't here because they don't want to be spoiled. Like me. I'll be back in a week or so.

I did see in the news post on Switch that you can have up to six party members at once.
So at some point that is definitely a thing.

In any case, I got the game today alongside The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Don't think I've ever picked up two games on the same launch day before, but it was kinda neat. Now I just need to figure out which one to focus on...

@OdnetninAges
Feels like Christmas morning… for gamers

It was 3 games for me today with Samurai Warriors 5 also. But my focus is on Neo TWEWY and Ace Attorney. Both are great.

I finished Day 4 last night, but there was one story element that is bothering me. It'll probably be explained later on, but...

Why didn't Rindo just go back in time to when the day started and just go for the points instead since the Ruinbringers leader was lying? Is he only able to use time travel in certain situations?

I am a bit surprised that there is so little interested for this game in this forum. The reviews were a bit mixed, but e.g nintendolife gave it a glowing score.

So is anybody playing this? Is it worth getting? Is this better than the predecessor?

@chipia I'm also surprised this game wasn't talked about that much. I guess it had a lot of competition when it was released. That being said, I definitely recommend this game. I played it right after finishing the original and I think it lives up to it pretty well!

I mean, Metroid Dread only has 3X the amount of discussion, which...feels about right.

I'd probably discuss it, if I wasn't busy with another July 2021 Switch game from a series I first fell in love with on the DS.

@kkslider5552000 But the difference is that Metroid Dread is not even released yet, once it's released there will be much more pages of discussion.

NEO TWEWY on the other hand has been out for a few months now and there's practically no interest.

Anyways, the demo got me intrigued, but I wonder about the difficulty of the game: The battles in the demo are extremely easy, even when I lower my Level, it's like the enemies are barely attacking at all, I can just mash the attack buttons.

How is the difficulty later in the game? Does it get challenging and strategic?

Also is the game linear like the demo, or are there sidequests and stuff?

I'm not entirely convinced.

Surprisingly, despite being a huge fan of the original, I didn’t run out to buy this one yet; well trying to budget myself on game purchases.

My problem now is deciding whether to get it on Switch or both Switch and PS4. I prefer playing on my Switch and as long as it runs well enough I’m fine. Probably best option is to try both demos.

OK, question for people who have played this and the original: should I find a way to play the original first? Or is Neo sufficiently disconnected from the original TWEWY that it doesn't matter?

@Ralizah TBH, while you can easily play Neo without playing the original, I'd highly recommend playing the original first, either on DS or Switch via handheld mode with a capacitive stylus. (And if you play the DS version, make sure to look up cutscenes of the new content added to the Switch version.) The main protagonists of Neo aren't in the first game, so you'd probably be fine just going along for their journey. But there's a lot of callbacks and references to the original that makes it worth playing the original first so you can understand the callbacks and references. I also feel that the story and characters are a lot stronger in the first game, but Neo has a more approachable combat system. (I find the combat system in both games to be super fun.)

@Ralizah Truth be told, I really think it's best to play the original first. I didn't play the original back when it came out, so I decided to play it before buying NEO. Honestly, I feel like I enjoyed my playthrough of NEO much more because of it. Towards the second half of NEO, I was thinking to myself about how confused I would've been if I didn't play the original.

@OdnetninAges @Vortexeo Thanks. I'll hold off until I have the opportunity to play the original, then.

I'd like to believe that somehow a Steam port will renew interest in this the same way it did for Valkyria Chronicles, but I doubt it.

This sequel to the first game is pretty amazing. Instead of using two characters, I get to play with more characters and equip more powerful psych at my disposal.
