Nobody said anything about "sales". I don't care if it counts as a freaking Japanese sale or not- I just want to play the freaking game man... And I didn't mean "before" as in they're going to patch in English and then
localize it. I meant they'll do that before they would ever consider localizing the game. Rephrased- "they're not going to localize this, but if they do anything at all they would probably patch English into the Japanese version rather than localize- because right now they're number one priority is not to ruin the chance of new players getting into World, and new players aren't going to import a Japanese Switch game so they wouldn't have to worry about it".

You don't want to play the game, THEN DON'T! Nobody's strong-arming you into playing the game- go off and do something else then! That post wasn't for you. That post was for the people who are importing. For people who are capable and willing to utilize the tools at their disposal to make it easy for themselves. Don't get upset just because there are other people who are fully capable of playing this game in Japanese using a multitude of tools we have within arms reach- it's 2017 and it is never been easier. You don't want to, that's fine... but don't go knocking the other people that do want to

Just found out my card can handle currency conversions, so I can use it to buy XX whenever.
Now I just need to figure out when to get this, afraid the game will be announced for the west after buying the japanese version. lol

Regardless of World, the fact MHXX is on a portable system means I could play both at once. That's the beauty of Switch. I'll play the English version of this if/when it releases, regardless of World. One at home, the other for when I'm not at home. Gotta have a portable MH to play. That's mandatory. And now that Switch the the go-to portable, it needs a MH.

But I'm honestly not getting my hopes up for localization. If they do though... that would be a fantastic problem to have. If the concern is, " what if they end up localizing it" I would say we're in a win-win situation.

On another note, MHXX has climbed to the #1 spot for Switch games on Amazon JP- even beating out Splatoon 2, and it's not even released yet. Being a port of an expansion which has been out 6 months of a game which has been out over a year, on a new console nobody can seemingly find and barely has over 1 million units sold in Japan... I wasn't expecting too much out of this one. But it seems the thirst for MH on Switch is most definitely real.

Well I haven't messed with my Switch as much aside from Thumper every now and then. (and Arms is just boring to me...) So I need something to get me to play on it more... xD

Forget Thumper. Splatoon 2 is where it's at. Even my brother- my Uncharted loving, Dark Souls fanatic, online-hating, PC/Sony gaming brother... is addicted to and loves Splatoon 2. Only online game he's ever played aside from Dark Souls invasions and Uncharted MP... and even he loves it. Splatoon 2 is legit. I see a whole bunch of Monster Hunter fans on Reddit playing Splatoon 2 while they wait for MHXX.

In any case, new games are here. Monster Hunter (finally), and Mario Kingdom Battle 4 days after. Think FIFA 18, Dragonball Xenoverse 2, Pokken Tournament, Rayman Legends... all coming September. Probably some others I'm forgetting. Just gotta make room for Metroid Samus Returns, and MH Stories (although MHXX takes priority, it still looks awesome)

I actually do like Thumper. But I like it best in VR. Kinda weird playing on a 2D screen. And honest truth... Splatoon 2 is a legit sequel. I don't think anyone who's playing it would argue otherwise. The game is entirely brand new- new stages, new single player, new specials, new co-op mode... it's legit.

Not only is it legit, it's straight up one of the best video games I've played in a long, long time. Crack in a cartridge... A1. Right up there with Zelda, probably even as good as Monster Hunter (blasphemy, I know). But for real. Splatoon 2 is... it's amazing. The Salmon Run is particularly nice to break things up every now and then. I still mostly play turf wars but once or twice a week I'll jump on that co-op and rock it hard for hours upon hours. I give it my highest stamp of approval and endorsement.

But, even Splatoon 2 will have to take a backseat here come this weekend. By no means am I done with Splatoon 2- I'll come back to it as they add more content and stages... but for now, MHXX takes priority. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to squeeze in Mario x Rabbids. Probably just juggle both. Always nice to have one other game in the mix while playing MH, for whenever you need to take a break for a day or two. Metroid, I'm just gonna blitz through it in a weekend. And MH Stories, as excited as I am for it, will have to take a number and wait it out in backlog for a while

Splatoon is just....looks boring...same stuff, same crappy rotations...same everything that killed the first game for me.

I like the rotations. I like focusing on just a couple maps and then rotating. The alternative is a voting system where everyone just votes for one map over and over and over and over again. With the rotation system you get two maps and it rotates every two hours. Right around the time you start getting tired of playing those maps it changes to different maps. Admittedly, four hour rotations kind of sucked in the first game, but two hour rotations are fine.

But "boring" is just, like, the farthest word that comes to mind when I'm playing the game. Everything is so amazing- just pure fun nonstop. Single player is much better this time around- more puzzles and hidden items- just better design all around. Turf wars are much more balanced- no more invincibility specials or super OP weapons. There's a few weapons people tend to favor but I don't think any of them are significantly over powered- they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

And now you can actually break down your abilities into chunks and build up your own custom gear- that's what the first game was missing. Now every time you scrub your gear you break it down into chunks. And the tickets for double XP and double cash make leveling up much easier, and if Salmon Run wasn't fun enough on its own (it's as good as Turf Wars, which is really saying something), all the awesome gear and ability chunks and money and tickets you earn just make it all the more enjoyable.

The matchmaking is much more balanced as well, and the Splatnet2 app is amazing. The voice chat is a joke and I would wholeheartedly recommend using Discord if planning to voice chat but, that aside, the Splatnet2 portion is insanely cool. I love checking the app throughout the day looking for exclusive gear I can order...

They've taken the foundation of the first game and made it bigger, badder and better in every way imaginable. Every single complaint I had from the first game has been addressed. The first game was more like the beta test... Splatoon 2 is what the series always wanted to be, and should have been. A true sequel, and one that not only lives up to expectations but improves practically every aspect of the game.
