You might think so, but the game is so fun and matches play out so differently, and it's not just one map but bouncing between 2... I have never once gotten sick of a map. Always thirsty for more. 2 hrs is nothing. You only get like 10 matches in an hr. Quickfire matches at that. And every 2 hrs it switches up to something new.

I do 30 minute hunts with monsters on the same map and outsiders always say "how can you just hunt one monster over and over, doesn't that get repetitive?" But any Monster Hunter fan knows that it really doesn't because the hunts play out so differently and it's just so much fun you don't care.

It's the same deal with Splatoon 2. In fact I think its rotation is superior to pretty much any other game with how they do it. Instead of treating maps like cheap, throwaway matches, they get treated with respect. Each map is so well-designed with so many nuances and so much strategy to the map... I could play the same map 100 times and love it every bit as much the hundredth time as the first, because every time you play it you're learning from the time before and implementing new strategies to help you do better...

And 2 hours is practically nothing. Every time I hop on to play it's different maps, and usually after an hour, hour and a half of hopping on, it's switching them up again and I get two brand new maps...

It's one of those things people from the outside will quickly point the finger at and criticize, but it's different if you're actually playing it. It works and it doesn't get old- I'm 65 hours in and I haven't got sick of anything. In fact I think the two hour rotation actually lends itself to not getting sick of the maps because you're not burning through them like cheap throwaway maps. Which may seem better in the short term, but then a week later you wonder why none of the maps feel special anymore. With the current system, you appreciate each map. Every battle has value. Again, 4 hrs... ok. I get that, but 2 is perfect. Splatfests are cool though- they throw a third, exclusive map in the rotation. Shifty Station I think it is.

You're gonna play the same amount of of each map regardless. In the end it all averages out. It's just not a problem. Maps don't get old in 2 hrs. They just... don't. And by playing two maps for 2 hours, you preserve the others without cashing them out super fast. It all balances out in the end.

Ugh....ok what's the real story on American credit cards and the Japanese eshop? I've been told that it just depends on the card/bank....and then I'm being told it won't work at all. It just goes back and forth and I've no idea what to do...is Paypal supposed to fix this or is it still just gonna be a waste of time?

I've always heard it doesn't work. I just buy the shop credit off Amazon Japan and use that. Or you can buy a digital code for MHXX off PlayAsia- it'll cost a couple bucks more but it's quicker and more convenient if you don't feel like taking five or 10 minutes to get your Amazon Japan account set up...

I have no idea if PayPal will do anything to affect this or not

Can just buy 6,000¥ in eShop credit from Play-Asia and load it onto your account now so you can purchase at release (grab a 5,000 and 1,000)

Or, set aside 15 minutes right now, follow those instructions posted earlier and buy the eShop credit from Amazon Japan. Might take 10 extra minutes but it'll save you $8 or so.

Personally, I think it's worth taking the extra time to set up an Amazon Japan account to purchase digital eshop credit directly, but that's just me

They sell digital codes for eShop credit. You buy the eShop cred, receive the codes on the spot, and enter them on your eShop account.

Alright, you just kept bringing up Amazon Japan instead, was confusing me if PlayAsia can do the same exact thing. lol
