My goals while replaying this game in English.
1. Actually kill Lao Shan Lung.
2. Solo Bloodlust Diablos
3. Kill Ahtal-Ka in under 10 minutes using Mega Boomerang.
4. Give the new Styles another chance.
So I'm HR6 in the hub, and at 5 star quests in the village.
But I've decided to do every quest in the game. Completed all 1 star quests, and now slowly working on the 2 star quests. Lots of gathering and killing small monsters, and I have high rank armor from playing in the hub so nothing is really a threat at all. Yet I find it very relaxing. Like the palicos keep saying, "gathering can be so relaxing" and I'm thinking ya, you're right Maximize, it is relaxing.
I feel like everyone in this thread is going to have moved on from the game by the time I complete all 10 stars of village quests and all the LR/HR hub quests, and finally move on to G Rank. But that's OK.

I did it for MH3U on Wii U, actually. And I feel like this is a return to that first glorious experience I had, where I could do any number of quests of any type, and just not get tired of it. Maybe it's knowing this is probably the last classic style MH that will release, or maybe it's just a reinvigorated love of the series getting an HD hybrid celebratory entry that calls back to my love of my first MH on Wii U.
But ya, I'm pacing myself here. 3-5 quests per day.

@Joeynator3000 it's actually not that bad. Yeah, the gathering crap gets annoying at first but most of those quests can actually be done super quick and with requests being a thing you get some pretty neat rewards for a lot of them unlike older games or World
I'm referring to high and G rank...it gets really obnoxious, nearly 10 pages of quests...lol
You think you're done, and then BAM! A whole bunch of more quests of fighting the same monsters show up, and then the Hypers appear. lol
I know, but...GU could've handled it better, main reason why I love 4U more, everything was more balanced. After killing/capturing a monster, it moves on....In GU, kill this monster, then capture it, now kill it in a new area, then kill multiples of the same monster, now do a hyper, now do it with other hypers. Gah!!! >.<

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Hey all, I’m a bit late to the party but definitely enjoying MHGU. So I have a few questions I hope someone can shed some light on. I heavily played MH Tri and didn’t really play the 3DS games. Currently at HR 2.
So first thing. Is there a way to enable keyboard chat during an online quest?
Are we able to send messages to players directly?
Is farming no longer a thing? Farming shrooms, honey, insects... etc.
Awesome, thanks a bunch for the info. Too bad about the keyboard but I’ll customize what I can. Looking for that Neko now. Thanks again! @Tsurii@Yosheel
Hmm. I remember there was a pirate or someone that you could send out to the sea but it wasn’t a cat. He brought back different items depending on the weather conditions. He offered furnishings, costumes, and other things.
In MHGU, they cut out the whole "send someone out who returns later" and just have items in a menu you can trade for, that rotate out after each quest. You can access that menu from the same felyne who handles Meownster Hunters (a mini game where you send felynes out to hunt and gather) and farming items and buying special tickets for deviant monsters.
