Topic: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate

I went online with a friend, I didn't want another 40+ minute video again. xD
But yeah, I still carted...That...roar. lol

I've been thinking, I doubt this game will sell well compared to World. Do you think Capcom will use the worse sales as an excuse to stop making MH games for Nintendo platforms?

@Grumblevolcano You forget they've already released this game on both 3DS and Switch in Japan, and made note of how they were satisfied with it's sales. This western release is probably just gravy to them at this point.

@meleebrawler Surely western sales would affect localization of future Switch games at the very least?

I don't really know what they're doing anymore, because they said they didn't even plan on bringing this game over.(it would've likely came out shortly after the Japanese release) Apparently it's being localized because everyone asked for it.

I just feel like they don't care about Nintendo anymore and wanna "westernize" the series with World. So, you know...that means PC and any other system that's not Nintendo only.

...Did they say they had plans for a new MH game on Switch? Or was this game it? Because that would be a pretty big troll move by them.

@Joeynator3000 They haven't mentioned future Switch support for MH and World is hitting more crazy sales records with the PC release.

Eh, it has issues with online and graphic settings. It only has crashed once on me...it only doesn't run perfect because my PC is kinda old. Playing it windowed and in 720p has it run near perfect, though the graphics for me still have to be low.

They said in their investor meeting they want to continue the series on Switch.

I mean, it was pretty obvious anyways. They would never have brought MHXX to Switch if they weren't interested

How anyone could think they "don't care" about 5 million sales on a single platform is beyond me. Of course they care. Of course they're gonna continue the series on Switch. Of course they're not just gonna pass up on millions of sales by including the series on Switch going forward. I mean come on guys.

One game released after being developed when Switch wasnt around and you think they're gonna be like nah, we sold 10 million across 3 platforms, so we dont care about another 5 million on 1 platform.

MHXX coming to Switch so fast is direct proof they want to nurture the series on the platform. And then enough demand convincing them to localize, that shows demand is strong.

They were happy with sales in Japan, especially for a game essentially being sold for a 3rd time in 2 years. And demand is stronger in the west than they expected, as it has been for every other Capcom game. Not one single Capcom game that hasn't impressed them saleswise.

So relax.

It's bad. The game wouldn't even launch frin the main menu without crashing, had to revert to older drivers. Even then, it crashes after every single quest.

They need to fix that crap. Paid $60 for a game I already own twice via X1 and PS4, and I cant ecen play it

No idea what's going on your end, then...my game runs quite well.

The Switch wont take long to eclipse the sale of PS4s in Japan as well. So I would say a Switch Monster Hunter is all but guaranteed. Wether they bring that to the west or not is a better question.

Yeah I don't know what's going on...I only had one crash and that was it.

After two hours of playing, after that, you're probably screwed. I had no reason to refund, so I'm good.

shrugs I dunno then...I'd figure that wouldn't work or you'd be ignored or something.

You spend so much time getting it to launch again, and then wait for loading, change options hoping borderless resolves the issue, or whatever, then wait to load again, then go through all the "take a Quest, eat, leave, wait for loading" and crash... rinse and repeat. Or maybe you make it 15 or 20 minutes into the quest and then it crashes...

You'd be surprised how quickly your time played can add up. Especially since the first 25 minutes is just watching cut scenes and getting the game rolling.

Could it be a multi-tasking thing? Only thing I have opened is Discord, and rarely have issues. Even when I record hunts with Shadowplay. (with the exception of online multiplayer, it just doesn't go well, but no crashes, just extremely laggy videos...)

@TheShadowFax PC gaming isn't really even a port anymore. Switch is the only system a developer would need to port to. PS4, Xbone, and PC are Intel x86 based machines. Presumably PS5 and Xbox 4 will be as well.
