In a translated interview with the sound team for Monster Hunter Rise (among whom is the one who did the music for RE7), they had this to say:
Our script writer had to come up with different settings and a whole bunch of lines for each voice type, but we think he did an outstanding job. It really speaks to the imagination: “A hunter with a voice like this probably lives their hunting life in such and such way,” you know? I really think players will enjoy mulling over which voice they’re going to pick.
Shibata: And you can even pick between Japanese, English, or Monster Hunter language! I look forward to spending hours on the character creation screen! Of course, if you only want grunts and efforts like in the past titles, there’s an option for that, and you can even adjust the frequency of spoken dialogue, so you can enjoy the VO in any way you want!
That’s... incredible. This is a huge forward stride for the series in general. The auto-dialog changes depending on the personality of the voice you selected for your Hunter, and the pre-set voiced shoutouts you can send at will auto-translate into the native language of whoever you’re playing with, enabling you to communicate with anyone in the world, and not just by a chat window in the corner of the screen, but with actual audible language of dialog.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)

Doesn't need PS+ (June 28th - July 1st 2019) - Same content as first beta
Doesn't need PS+ (August 30th - September 1st 2019) - Same content as first beta as well as an extra quest
So I'd guess the January MH Rise beta will probably be 2 areas and 3 quests with a second beta happening in March which adds another quest. Completing the beta will probably give you some rewards in the full game.
Who lives in France? Apparently there’s an online retailer offering a steelbook case with preorders. I will pay handsomely to obtain this. Even buy an extra copy of the game if I must
edit
Got it. Found a forwarding service for France to USA.
Also, my Velkhena statue arrived. It was exclusive to the Iceborne collector edition in Japan. Now I have Nergigante from the Western base game CE, Velkhena from the Japanese Iceborne CE, and the Rathalos Edition PS4 Pro with controller. Looks so good next to Nergigante
@Ralizah
Ya! You didn’t see that before? They showed the preorder bonus skins in the original trailer at the end. You get a golden retriever outfit for your palamute and a forest cat outfit for your palico. Personally I wasn’t really a fan of how it looked but I figured there would be some people out there who really loved it.
What I do love, however, is the Royal Ludroth palamute armor made to look like a poodle lol.
Check it out around 7 second mark- you’ll see a big puffy yellow armored palamute on the left- the poodle armor is killing me lol 😂
I found it a little odd that they decided to give Khezu a white almost snowy look this time around. I always got the feeling in the concept art that Khezu was always meant to be transparent but the hardware limitations didn't allow that before. This game could likely handle it, I wonder if they decided to not go with a transparent look because it would be rather gruesome to see a monsters inner organs.
These recent trailers look fantastic though, I don't know if I'm imagining things but the game looks even better than when it was announced and the artstyle for armour sets and monsters look awesome.
Do I have to play the past mh titles to like enjoy this or at least to learn the ropes? I've never ever touched the MH franchise and I'm planning to step into this because it looks promising
@NedTheHead LOL. Absolutely not, man. Each title has its own gimmick, story, and perks to them. In one of the past games, you could fight monsters underwater, a feature that has not returned since. You can totally enjoy this game without playing the previous ones. This game only has more features, weapon attacks, and monsters that you may or may not miss if you do decide to go back to one of the older games. Over the years, Monster Hunter had improved massively in terms of quality of life, the smoothness of combat, and more. You're not missing anything. Do yourself a favor. Start with Rise when it comes out or if you can't wait, try World of Generations Ultimate. Again, these games have massively different features that won't appear in Rise.
But at any case, welcome to Monster Hunter, man.
@Varkster Omg, dude. What if the reason Red Khezu is red if because we're all actually looking at his organs? Although, that would not make too much sense since it's theorized that Khezu is actually just Red Khezu, but albino, implying non clear skin...
...So who's playing the demo online? No idea if I will, not sure what I'm gonna do...might just go alone at first just to wander the maps and mess around there.

I'll play solo at first, but after I've beaten all 3 quests and gotten a feel for the game, I do plan to hunt online with others. One, to see how the online works and voiced shoutouts to communicate. Two, in order to help any new players and ensure they enjoy a smooth experience learning the ropes. Three, just to have fun with the N-Life MH crew again! It's been too long

Oh, in the main game yeah I'll mostly stay offline until I get to end-game stuff. Back then it was also because the monsters would die in an instant during multiplayer, I dunno how effective the HP scaling is in World/IB since I only went online in that game once...and holy crap it was super laggy. lol
But yeah, it looks like that will also be in Rise, so, there's that. lol

The monster's HP scales pretty well in my experience. It even changes mid battle whenever a hunter joins, which kind of break the immersion in the game for me, but is still cool. The monsters are also harder to stun and break, along with some other boosted resistances that I don't remember.
I might go online more often in Rise, then....unless it ends up being crappy for me like with World. But yeah, going online in older games just made all the quests feel too easy. lol
