ive played enough of Generations, Generations Ultimate and World to know armor skills etc but thats not important right at the beginning of Rise anyway.
Wire bug to get to some of the cliffs it not bad but the mechanic is a bit touchy.
by the way, is the Cahoot owl useful or not? I dunno what to do with the thing anyway
@urrutiap I know that it holds the camera when you want to take a selfie or something. It also leaves items for you in its nest in the Buddy plaza. Combat wise, it does absolutely nothing as far as I'm aware of. But, honestly, I think you should be fairly okay until you do eventually reach Basarios if you do indeed want that armor at least.
@VoidofLight All armor pieces have some skills that can be quite useful if summed up in a big way. There are attack boosters, defense boosters, skills that makes you consume less stamina, dodge extenders and more. You should really take a look at them. Some skills can do some insane stuff, like giving you extra ammo in a gunlance.
Some skills synchronizes wonderfully with certain weapons, like Quick Sheath and the Longsword as described by this guy:
Right now, Im looking towards making an armor set that has guard skills, which lessens the impact the character receives whenever he blocks an attack. Im doing this solely for the Sword and Shield, because the Block + A guard point it has is soooo badass, but it only works when your guy receives low impact from the blocked attack.
@Ulysses Yeah. The more I think about it, the more I begin to notice how much that sucks. It would have been nice to see how the people of Kamura would have designed their versions of Rath armor and weapons, and not just have the default, European based designs for them. And what's up with Utsushi's armor? Last I checked, it barely uses any Zinogre pieces to make.
Ok, this may sound like a weird question, but does anybody have a monster they would like to see made out of lego? I’m not trying to profit, I just want to practice building cause I want to be a lego designer, and I just finished making a rajang, so yeah, if there’s anything you want to see, just say so! (Like I said, this is just for fun, I just want to try using different techniques in building)
@Bronze Nakarkos looks like it will be a doozy of a build haha. But once I get the main body and the two necks it’s smooth sailing from there
@Ulysses I did think about doing magnamalo, but my selection of purple bricks isn’t that much. Never thought about doing an architecture style build though. Never done one before, but guess I can try, after Nakarkos and Lagiacrus of course, and maybe goss harag, gosh this is already a lot haha.
Ooh boy. Almudron is incredible. And Tigrex is as fun as ever. Super aggressive and I love it. Also saw a turf war between Anjanath and Diablos and was just standing there, watching in awe. Absolutely brutal.
I think I want to farm Almudron armor. I see it needs a plate... thus it begins.

Me and my brother did all the HR3 Hub Quests (which were super fun btw) and then took on the Urgent Rampage quest with an Apex Azuros.
My. Goodness.
That Apex Azuros is something else. Hardest monster in the game up to this point. That thing was straight up terrorizing me and my brother. We took it down, but it was at the margins. My brother fainted once, and I came SO close to fainting that I couldn’t even see the green on my health bar- it was that thin. One hit took like 2/3 of my health bar in one swipe. Back to back hits was a one way trip on the kitty cart. What an epic fight! I can already see my brother coming around on the Rampage quests. At first he was like nope, don’t like em. Now he’s having a blast, saying how much fun they are. Once I explained some tips and tricks and he got the experience of the Apex and having 2 areas to defend, I think he wasn’t so flustered. Said he loves the chaos.
And there’s SO much stuff you unlock once you beat that HR3 Urgent into High Rank. Gobs of extra quests, sidequests, decorations, upgraded petalaces, powercharm and armorcharm, HR armor, Rampage weapons and better skills, stronger dango effects, with a major story cutscene to cap it off.
Speaking of which- the story is not over. I’m kinda puzzled as to why they rolled credits after Magnamalo in the Village, when that’s not even remotely the end of the game, or the end of the story. Heck, it’s not even the end of the village quests! It’s just so arbitrary. You’re like 20% of the way though the game at that point. You’ve barely even seen half the monsters. Not that it matters when they decide to roll credits, but it gives the impression to less experienced players that the game is “over” after that. Which is demonstrably not the case. End of the tutorial perhaps. There’s still 5 star and 6 star Village Quests, there’s still HR1-3 Hub Quests for Low Rank, and there’s HR4-7 Hub Quests for High Rank, which is where the game really opens up with meat on the bone.
There’s so much content here it feels overwhelming, and I love it. At first I was thrown for a loop after Magnamalo, but now I’m realizing I’ve barely even scratched the surface in this game. The first 120 hours was just the warm up 😉
edit
Also, I’ve noticed that Hunting Horn makes the game noticeably easier. It’s so good in this game. As soon as I crafted Aknosom Switch Axe and Magnamalo Charge Blade and started changing it up with different sets, I noticed I wasn’t skating by so easily anymore. So if you’re new and struggling, you may want to give Hunting Horn a try. It really does make a difference.

Perhaps Capcom just wanted to ensure that the majority of the players actually saw the credits? Who knows.
@JaxonH Uh you ever played Monster Hunter Generations for the Nintendo 3DS? main low rank story quests were pretty short too especially with the Glavenous being the "end" boss but then after the credits rolled, high rank quests etc were unlocked after the credits.
@Snatcher I think the end-game comes in the patch after this next title update. This next title update adds in new monsters, but the ending of the game isn't until the next one.

@Joeynator3000
Right. But Magnamalo isn’t the end of low rank. It’s not even half way through the low rank monster list yet at that point. There’s 2 full low rank stars afterwards.
@urrutiap
Of course. 600 hours in MH3U, 400 hours in MH4U, 400 hours in MH Generations, 400 hours in MHGU, 400 hours in MH World/Iceborne, and 150 hours in MH Rise counting the demo. I know how long they usually are.
But as I just mentioned to Joey, usually it ends after you finish Low Rank village quests, not half ways through Low Rank village quests.
Low Rank is no different than any other previous game. It still has 6 stars of Village Quests. But for some reason Rise rolls credits after 4 star quests instead of after 6 star quests. And given how many monsters are jam packed in 5 star and 6 star, it’s basically half the monster roster you haven’t even touched yet.
So ya, it’s a different approach from past games. Perhaps due to the fact that, unlike past games, the mainline story actually continues into High Rank.
